Feedback Suppression Algorithm

A common processing algorithm is feedback suppression. How often do you need, or require a feedback suppression function in your systems? What feedback suppressors work well, or don't work at all?

I consider feedback suppression only required if original design was wrong, therefore have never enabled this function in any product. I install permanent systems, mostly for non technical users. Note that I dont do live sound, where it may be a useful safety net!
