CSD 5.7 - PowerMatch amplifiers fails to upgrade

Peter Heiberg ·
Hi During routine maintenance, I came over a bug in FW updating of PM amps. The amps in question were at FW version 2.220b1. I started CSD 5.7.0.31504, and by old habit I pushed EQ updates first to avoid waiting for the reboot. EQ updated fine. Then I started the FW update process, and both PMs shortly after delivered loud pops from all connected speakers, before blacking out entirely. To get them to power back up they needed a couple of minutes disconnected from AC. I then tried to push...

Dear support, We had to visit a client reporting not all of his mics were working His setup includes the following devices: ESP-880 + dante slot card PM4500N + dante slot card there are 7 mics on the room, 4 arrive to the esp by analog connection and 3 arrive trough dante. As soon as we arrive we had to update the firmware to be able to go online on the ESP and we got a fault led. With the PM4500N we couldn't even send the update, the copying firmware process kept failing, and we could only...

Updating Firmware-Where to find the correct file for ESP1240

TechSPCs ·
Hello, I'm new to ControlSpace and am trying to get a system operational. I've been having problems connecting to the 1240 Dante Network card in Controlspace reliably. It says I need a firmware update but when I try to find the correct file it doesn'r seem to be in the Dante Firmware folder. I found a help file PDF link here in the forums but for some reason I don't have access to view the topic. Can anyone advise please? Thanks! -Joe

Hello, In the past the Dante card for the ESP FIXED IO supported 16x16 channels. We have upgraded this to 32x32 channels and therefor it will be seen as a different card. Attached you will find a Technical Bulletin how to update. I hope this will solve you issue. BR Arno

Re: [BUG] Updating a older design with CSD 5.5

Hello Luis, sorry for the inconvenience. Could you send me the original design file for investigation? The first thing that comes to my mind is that in the original design the Expansion card was set to Dante 16 and we can now have 32x32 channels. So maybe the conversion to that caused the red LED. On your options: - Not make it mandatory to update the firmware to go online and work with old designs. We need to do this because we constantly adding new features and if old firmware is loaded,...

Hello Luis, Thank you for sharing the design file CSD 5.5). It looks like you run into an combination of issues. I see an issue with the Dante card (Dante 16) (I will investigate this further, Dante channels in Pset 1) and a known issue for which we have a hot fix . Sorry for the inconveniences. BR Arno

Re: CSD 5.7 - PowerMatch amplifiers fails to upgrade

Arno-at-Bose ·
Hello Peter, It sounds like a known issue listed in the release notes: PowerMatch update can fail when going from PowerMatch firmware version 2.x to CSD 5.6.2+. If during the update the PM turns off, power down the PM, wait until the Error LED is no longer illuminated (or wait 1 minute) and powerup the PM again. This issue is caused by the Windows region/language settings. a. Workaround: Set the Windows Regional Format settings to “English (United States)” and restart Windows Start the PM in...

Suggested procedure solved the issue, thanks. I can also confirm CSD 5.7.1 on Norwegian regional formatting updates 2.610 PM amps without issues.
