Incompatible Firmware: ESP-00 II Dante Card

chadwick ·
Just updated the controlspace designer to the latest version as instructed from Dante Controller's new Dante Updater built in feature (they are together now!) But this error keeps popping up in the scan results: [Error 1] ESP-00 II (RTC) "ESP-00 II 1" (192.168.1.77) version: 2 <--- Incompatible firmware. Please upgrade the Dante IOCard firmware to version 8 or newer. You can check the firmware version currently in use by launching IOCardPgm.exe from the bin folder. (see attached photo)...

Dear support, We had to visit a client reporting not all of his mics were working His setup includes the following devices: ESP-880 + dante slot card PM4500N + dante slot card there are 7 mics on the room, 4 arrive to the esp by analog connection and 3 arrive trough dante. As soon as we arrive we had to update the firmware to be able to go online on the ESP and we got a fault led. With the PM4500N we couldn't even send the update, the copying firmware process kept failing, and we could only...

Updating Firmware-Where to find the correct file for ESP1240

TechSPCs ·
Hello, I'm new to ControlSpace and am trying to get a system operational. I've been having problems connecting to the 1240 Dante Network card in Controlspace reliably. It says I need a firmware update but when I try to find the correct file it doesn'r seem to be in the Dante Firmware folder. I found a help file PDF link here in the forums but for some reason I don't have access to view the topic. Can anyone advise please? Thanks! -Joe

WP22-B has generic audinate Ultimox2 firmware.

djes34 ·
I have a Bose WP22-B wall panel that has been accidentally ugraded with the audinate generic ultimox2 firmware. This wall panel sounds distorted, just like it's not using the correct sample rate or bitdepth... I've tried to force it back to the correct Bose firmware by checking the 'override device matching' box in the fum app, but the panel doesn't show up in the list. (only appears when i choose the the same ultimox2 firmware) Is there any other way to force it back to the correct Bose ...

Hello Chadwick, Please see this post also. It is important that you connect your PC direcly to the ESP LAN port (so not via the Dante card. And depending on your UAC setting, you might need to run the IOCardPgm.exe application as "Administrator" In this folder you will also see a folder "Type0F" in this folder you should see an XML file and 8 firmware version IOCardPgm.exe can be found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bose\ControlSpace 5.6\bin\IOCardPgm" if no changes were made during installation...

I have not seen that specific error before, but have you made sure to "un-zip" the files before opening them in the browser configuration page? Also, makes sure the file is listed as: CSP_v1.0.1.frm The file name must be exact and have the .frm extension.

Hello Isreal, Sorry you are running into this issue. As far as I can remember, v1.041 is not a release version (have to verify that). Could it be that you received the unit from a Bose employee for testing (beta product)? For your information, I can reproduce this with v1.041. I've also sent you a private message. BR Arno

Hey, Thanks for the helpful message. I think I was just not running as Administrator. I prefer logging in as root on a Debian GNU/Linux system so this operating system is a bit strange to me. Take care!

Re: ESP00 Dante card degrade dante firmware

ChrisJ-at-Bose ·
Hi Dipi, In most cases, you should be able to overwrite the existing Dante card firmware. You can use fum.exe (in ProgramFiles (x86)\Bose\ControlSpace x.xx\Bin). Make sure to chose DNC-E firmware, and select 'override device matching'. Best regards, ChrisJ-at-Bose

Hello djes34, Did you experience this distorted audio also before the incorrect update? We haven't included the UltimoX2 firmware with CSD, so I'm wondering which version you've used. Can you send this file? Normally when you select an incorrect version of Dante firmware, it displays ""No matching devices found (of x total)". So I'm wondering what you have done. Hope you can explain more. Can you send me a screenshot when the update utility finish searching for devices? Which version have...

Re: WP22-B has generic audinate Ultimox2 firmware.

Kakudo-at-Bose ·
Arno, I think djes34 used "ultimox2.dnt" included in the FUM software that Audinate is distributing. You can get the software from the following link: https://www.audinate.com/conte...1046-windows?lang=en So he needs the firmware for WP22-B with ultimoX2. Kakudo

It might be that the distorted audio was allready the problem. And in an attempt to fix this, the ultimox2 firmware has been loaded with the audinate firmware update manager. If you download the firmware update manager from the audinate website, it comes with the generic firmware file folder 'restore'. the ultimox2 version version 3.10.3... I'll be back on this, Right now I have to move...

Hello Luis, sorry for the inconvenience. Could you send me the original design file for investigation? The first thing that comes to my mind is that in the original design the Expansion card was set to Dante 16 and we can now have 32x32 channels. So maybe the conversion to that caused the red LED. On your options: - Not make it mandatory to update the firmware to go online and work with old designs. We need to do this because we constantly adding new features and if old firmware is loaded,...

Hello Luis, Thank you for sharing the design file CSD 5.5). It looks like you run into an combination of issues. I see an issue with the Dante card (Dante 16) (I will investigate this further, Dante channels in Pset 1) and a known issue for which we have a hot fix . Sorry for the inconveniences. BR Arno
