Hi all If this should be handled as a feature request, please move it accordingly. The device list in CSD is missing the PS604A and PS404A amplifiers. Checked on 5.4, 5.5 and 5.6(.2.30797). Although just a graphical issue, my sales department often use CSDs Project View to plan and order components for installations. Workaround so far has been to use the passive amplifier block (PS604) and add a note to it.
Hello, yesterday we installed at a customer. There are about 40 speakers and 5 Amp 604 A , 1 x CC64 and 2 x ESP1240A.It is a simple installation. When loading the software onto the devices, the POWER LEDs of the two ESP alternately went red. At first we thought that there was a hardware problem. But when we had the software with the older version on it, then the second ESP went to red and the first to green. We are using the 5.7 CSD because of the PS604A. I think that there is no hardware...
I have an experienced contractor that has 5 locations with ESP-880A and a PM8500 with an AmpLink card in it. He is using quality pre-made shielded 2-3ft CAT6 cables. In all locations the occasional popping and clicking is not in the DSP but only in the PM8500 and only on CH2 in all locations. He wired CH 2 analog out of the DSP and into the PM8500 and that has solved unwanted noises. Is there a way to get this to work as designed so that all 8 channels stay digital? 2 locations are running...
I have one of the early PS404A models, and I can't get the AmpLink connection to pass audio. I'm driving audio from my EX-1280C, and I have signal metering in the AmpLink out block of the DSP, but no audio into the amplifier. I'm using shielded CAT5e (also tried unshielded). When online with the amplifier in PowerShare Editor, I see no input metering. Checked and double checked the selector wheel on the rear of the panel. I have tried different AmpLink channels with no luck. Today I loaded...
Hello Rick, I've noticed your report on our internal log system also. We have received some reports on this and trying to root cause this. In most cases replacing the AmpLink card resolved the issue, but hard wiring CH2 is also a good workaround. I hope we can fix this issue as soon as possible. BR Arno
Hi Arno / All, Have we confirmed (to the best of our ability) that this issue is primarily with the receiving devices? (PM AmpLink cards/ PSX04A etc) I had someone replace their AmpLink card in a PM amp, and this made no difference, so he sent his processor to me. I've now had this connected using AmpLink since last week, but haven't been able to replicate the issue. Thanks, Chris
I am having a similar problem at a church using an ESP 1240A and a PM4250 with an AmpLink card. However, I'm getting the noise on channels 2 and 4, with it being most noticeable on channel 4. In my case I was able to see the noise on the front panel meter of the amplifier, as well as on the output metering of the AmpLink block in CSD while connected to the ESP. What caught my eye was that outputs 1 and 2 were both being driven from the same source in CSD, but channel 1 didn't exhibit the...
Arno, I went back to the site to update the firmware in both the processor and amplifier and reload the configuration using 5.8.2. The noise was still present afterward. Something new I noticed before I did the update was that I could silence the clicks by muting any one of the AmpLink output channels in CSD. I did not confirm whether that was still the case running 5.8 as I was running out of time. I rewired the processor and amplifier to use the analog inputs and the noise was eliminated.
Hello DJ, Sorry you run into this issue. Is sounds like a "netlist" error. Can you share your design file (add it to this post or send me a private message), so I can investigate this further? Thank you in advance. BR Arno
Hi Nick, Was it working before? Do you also see metering on de EX display (or only on the AmpLink block in CSD)? What is the RJ45 LED status of the AmpLink input of the PowerShare? And could it be that you used the "THRU" RJ45 port instead of the "INPUT"? I just tested it with my system (CSD 5.0_948 / PSE 2.11 - 5.24) and the PowerShare was receiving audio using AmpLink. BR Arno
Arno, it was working before, yes, but I haven't turned the amp on in a while, as it's been in storage, but the last time I used it, it was passing audio through AmpLink. The RJ45 LED's are dark on both sides, and I'm wired to the input, not thru. The signal is also metering on the front of the EX display. I will try to roll back the firmware and see if that works.
I have tried rolling back the firmware and that doesn't help. However I did order an AmpLink card for my PM8500N, and audio isn't passing from the 1280C to that amplifier either. So, I think the issue is with the EX-1280C, so I will be ordering another.
