I have a brand new ESP-880A processor that cannot be found after firmware update. Initial connectivity showed 4 identical device IP's, I selected only 1 of them and it allowed the firmware update to happen. Now, it cannot be discovered at all. There is only a single network connection on the back, yet it has a sticker showing 2 MAC Addresses. I am stumped. Anyone know how to default it to factory or get whatever IP info out of it? I am directly connected with the static IP on my PC as the...
Hey Folks, As we deploy more of the ControlSpace and PowerMatch products, we are working with enterprise level network companies who are setting up VLANs with IP reservations for the gear. In order to make this go smoothly, we need the MAC addresses for the gear at the time we order it. With most IP gear we order, the MAC Addresses appear on the sales order. Is this something Bose can provide? Thanks!
Could someone direct me towards a setup guide for getting the CC-2D talking to the CSP-428? I cant see anything on the Bose website online. I have all devices on a fixed IP in the same range and can see them in discovery tool , Cant see any function within the CSP-428 web browser to search for controllers and the Identify button in the browser does nothing. Thanks.
Hey all, Sometimes when we deploy a CS system, when we set the network properties and then set the gear to static, the gateway remains as the factory default. What causes this? If we go into network settings and change the last octet, the gateway will then update. Thanks!!
Hi Everyone, I'm having an issue with a ESP-880AD. A file upload was interrupted due to network problems and since then it's showing us a red power light. It doesn't show up in CSD or CSupdate and when connecting through RS232 or network it asks us for "buildroot login". It's still on the IP-address we set but we can't access it with the software (we can ping it though). Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Hi all! I had a problem with an installation today, with 2 x ESP88 , 1 x PM4250N and two PM8500Ns. Recalling a parameter set via RS232 is done correct for the two ESP's (only one is getting the command), but the parts involving the PM amps is not invoked. The parameters change visually correct in CSP designer though... I did a bit of searching, and found this thread: https://www.bosepro.community/g/proaudio/topic/amx-and-pm8500n-and-controlspace Sending the command to all devices(Serial over...
Hello HD Tom, on the Controller page you should see the connected Controllers at the top. When you click on one of the Controllers you should be able to assign it to a listing area and select which inputs should be selectable. BR Arno
Hello Bruikjaer,, You can reset the network parameters through the serial port of the ESP88 by sending: NP F<CR> followed by RESET<CR> which will reboot the ESP88. More information can be found in the ControlSpace Serial Control Protocol: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bose\ControlSpace 5.7\help or PRO.BOSE.COM BR Arno
Thanks! I've tried it, but no answer from the ESP88. My usb-serial-adapter is correct connected and works. But on the frontsite of the ESP88, the led for serial doesn't illuminated. I use Hyperterminal or Termite. What to do?
I’ve found the solution, after many tries. I used Putty with a Keyspan usb/serial adapter. Ofcourse set the correct com-port and speed 38400. Set the following setting to: -implicit LF in every CR -local echo: force on -local line editing: force on And in my case: update Controlspace Designer to version 4.
HI Brulkjear, Thank you for your update, I was just working on it. Older firmware versions do not support the NP commands But IP<CR> should always work, also on older firmware. Easy program to use is Hercules Terminal. BR Arno
Arno- I am having the same issue. New firmware installed. I found the CC2D once and now I cannot seem to find it again. It just seems to be missing. The CC2D is getting PoE (it brighten, then dims) but I cannot see it in the program for the CSP-428. I looked through the training and there is nothing on how the controllers are synced to the program. The info you gave earlier in this thread are better than what is on the training site. I only have one CC2D at this time. I am rolling out...
Hello Johan, Can you try the following: start ControlSpace designer during booting, click regurally the scan button hopefully at one point the ESP-880AD will be populated in the Project View at this moment you will have a short period of time (about 10 seconds) to upload the empty design. Please let us know if this solves your issue. BR Arno
Hi @Arno-at-Bose , I have a similar issue with a ESP-1240 but I can't find its current IP or IP range. I have tried Wireshark with a direct connection to my PC hoping it would echo its IP, but it didn't. With RS232, I also get the "buildroot login". Thanks! Marinus
Hello Marinus, The default IP address of an ESP fixed IO is 192.168.0.160. If IP is unknown, I'm afraid that the unit needs to be sent for repair or exchange. Please contact your local Bose contact to arrange this. BR Arno
JB, Hi, Trevor from Bose Pro Support, we spoke on the phone earlier today. Hopefully, you were able to use RS232 and use the Get IP command. Using a terminal app, like Hercules or Putty, simply send: IP<CR> The ESP-880A should reply with its IP address. If you need to reset the Network settings completely (Factory Defaults), send: NP F<CR> - Hope this helps.
