Hello, We have a project that need to switch two sound sources by third party, for example, one area, one output, switch input 1 and 3. Could you please tell me how to do that? I cannot find any specific file describing that, installation guide and help file. Also i can not find any settings in webpage configuration. Maybe in further firmware? I'd like to know when will it be released, because this project will have more than 40 units. Thank you. Cathy
I use multiple monitors in my design office. When using Control Space Designer (latest version), if I open a block (mixer, gain ctrl, ducker, etc) to change settings, frequently the settings window either shows up on a different monitor or not at all... sometimes I can see it in the task bar and use Windows right-click to move it into view. However, the mixer properties do not invoke a pop up window to manipulate. The scaling on the monitors is set to: Main Display 150%, Display 2 125%,...
I have a pair of 402's used as mains for a small band (used with the 402E controller they were purchased with). I've added a 502BP and would like to replace the 402E controller with a 402C controller that has the crossover built in to simplify connections. It seems 402C's are not easy to find but 502C's are more readily available. Is the EQ curve of the 502a similar enough to the 402's to work for my system? Thank you for your help.
I am currently looking at buying a used Panaray Systems Digital Controller version 1 (Black front, square buttons). But it seems it has other presets as mentioned in the manual. I am missing al presets for 402-I and 802-II. Instead there are several more LT- presets in there. Software version as mentioned on startup is v1.06. Is there a possibility to load the presets for the Bose 402-I and 802-II in this PSDC and if yes, how? And where to get the files needed?
Hi There, I am trying to run a B2 bass speaker through a Control Space 24. There does not seem to be a direct selection for the B2. Will one of the other selections work? If not, is there a way to program one of the outputs for the B2 Thanks for your help Derek
Hello, i have a panaray controller with a technical issue, when i powered the controller both of the green signal leds are lighten up, and the lcd displays shows a line of blocks.( check picture) does anyone know something to do to fix this problem?, i tried to set the controller in firmware mode( selectbutton+load/set button) but nothing happens?? Can someone help me out??
I have three rooms which will require a ceiling speaker (e.g. FreeSpace DS 40F) and a wall volume controller (e.g. ControlCenter CC-1 zone controller) in each room. Will I be able to use one FreeSpace IZA 2120-HZ amplifier in this setup? Or are there any other recommendations that will allow three rooms to have a speaker and volume controller in each? Thanks in advance, Andrew.
I have a problem controlling groups and parametersets in a system with 2 or more ESP-1240. Some parametersets and group settings will not work through all ESP on the network. I have experienced this problem before but worked around it. But this time I need it to work the way I intended when I designed the system. The controlsystem in this project is Crestron. Multiple processors controling meetingrooms and distributed audio in an office building. In the meetingrooms I have one RMC3...
Hi Johan, Thank you for the post. I have met a similar issue before. In my case that was an expected behavior and your's might be the same. The material on the serial protocol says as follows: ---------- Commands issued to the designated ‘RTC/Main’ device will be echoed to all other devices on the network. Otherwise commands should be issued to one of the devices involved in the construct being controlled (e.g. if a Group spans two ESPs, then the Group command should only be issued to one of...
Hello Bruikjaer,, You can reset the network parameters through the serial port of the ESP88 by sending: NP F<CR> followed by RESET<CR> which will reboot the ESP88. More information can be found in the ControlSpace Serial Control Protocol: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bose\ControlSpace 5.7\help or PRO.BOSE.COM BR Arno
Thanks! I've tried it, but no answer from the ESP88. My usb-serial-adapter is correct connected and works. But on the frontsite of the ESP88, the led for serial doesn't illuminated. I use Hyperterminal or Termite. What to do?
I’ve found the solution, after many tries. I used Putty with a Keyspan usb/serial adapter. Ofcourse set the correct com-port and speed 38400. Set the following setting to: -implicit LF in every CR -local echo: force on -local line editing: force on And in my case: update Controlspace Designer to version 4.
HI Brulkjear, Thank you for your update, I was just working on it. Older firmware versions do not support the NP commands But IP<CR> should always work, also on older firmware. Easy program to use is Hercules Terminal. BR Arno
Hi Jlex, The 502A and 402 EQ curves for full range and for mid-high crossover are a bit different. Not by leaps and bounds, but the 402 is more complex, and has a higher low-frequency bandpass, when used with a bass cabinet. As for the proper legacy controller, it would still be the 402C. Our current controller option would be the ControlSpace SP-24. Best regards, ChrisJ-at-Bose
Back here to let you know that with the software provided by Kakuro i managed to downgrade the firmware on the controller. This didn't work under windows 10 and also not under windows xp with a no-name usb midi adapter. Luckily i have a Terratec EWS88 in stock, which is mentioned in the manual of the software. This card installed in a windows xp machine did the trick. Still need to test with the real 802 and 402's, but the lab test with some simple desk speakers sounded like everything was...
Thanks for updating us. I think the dealer told me that it was the battery that went bad and it would not retain it's memory but I never checked. I guess the RAM could have developed an issue. I think I have one of these in a obscure rack at home- I will have to find it and see if it is still working. Remember that it will not take the full output of a pro mixing console (24 dBu) on it's input. I think it's limitation is 14 dBu before clipping. Bruce
Thanks for the help. I have just checked the CS24 and it does not have either Mb12 or Mb210 as a preset. It does have the following presets, will any of these work for the B2? MB 100 Hz LP MB 160 Hz LP MB 200 Hz LP MB 250 Hz LP MB 280 Hz LP Thanks Again
MB suits for any bass cabinet, the frequency behind is stands for the frequency level you want to use it. I advise the 100 hz, that means that all the frequencies below 100 Hz will go to the bass cabinet. good luck
Hi Laurens, I think you can upload the software v1.01 including 402I and 802II presets with attached updater. This updater is kind of old so I'm not sure if it works on recent version of Windows such as 10 or 7. I have attached the ReadMe (procedure) for v1.06 since I couldn't find that for v1.01. Hope this helps. Kakudo
Hello Thomas, I have several usb-midi adapters and soundcards with midi-ports available, so luckily that's not a big issue. In the manual from the PSDC-II i can't find any presets for the 402-I and 802-II which are the speakers i currently have. So to me it seems the PSCD-II isn't a good match. If not just let me know The PSDC-I is at sale in my town for a good price, and i also have a little collection of this stuff. So for nostalgic reasons it's also nice to have a version 1, if a version...
Hello Kakudo, Thanks for the quick response. It looks like the software will start on windows 10. Tomorrow i will try with an usb-midi adapter, and i am currently planning a meeting with the seller to try and load this firmware. The Readme is embedded in the software, so i think it's going to be alright. I will let you all know if the upgrade was successful. Laurens
My other concern on purchasing this unit is whether the internal battery is still working to retain it's memory. We learned (at least in the US) how to get into the internal programming on these units which made them much more functional. Yet, most if not all of the units that we had out in installations lost their programming when the internal battery in them died and they no longer remembered their settings. Be very careful in purchasing one at this point unless you need a rack mount...
Thanks for the warning. What kind of settings are lost when the battery dies? Does the unit lose all the presets, or only the custom presets and the last selected preset after a power failure? It seems the unit restarts after a power down with the same preset as selected before the power was disconnected, so it would seem the battery has enough capacity to survive a short power failure. I will check when i am going to the seller of the device. Laurens
Laurens, It has been years since I experienced it. If I remember correctly, it was coming up in the default settings when powered up which I believe was the 402 Full range. And I never opened one up to check on the battery - I think I was told by a tech that was the cause of the issue. I just remember that we ended up replacing it with a series 2 DSP. The bad thing about the replacement was that it did not have a delay in it for the balcony speakers! The attached file will help you get into...
Hello Cathy, The CSP can be controlled by the Bose ControlCenter CC-1D, CC-2D and CC-3D, and by the Bose ControlSpace Remote application. The PTT function can be set in the web-interface of the CSP. With the control inputs 1-8 you can create paging per listing area. I will contact you by email to discuss your project. BR Arno
Hi JeffAlex, Settings for processing blocks and endpoints should always appear in whichever monitor is designated as the 'main display' in Windows. Device properties will show up in whichever monitor ControlSpace Designer is currently displayed in. However, if you open ControlSpace Designer from the start menu on a different display than the designated 'main' display, these settings should show up on the monitor it was opened in. Best regards, ChrisJ-at-Bose
Thanks Chris! I will double check the monitor settings and change my practices accordingly. I have also been able to figure out that if a properties window is not visible, changing the display resolution on any of the four monitors makes it visible.
The IZA2120-HZ is a 2 zone amplifier. If 3 zones are required a second IZA2120 / ZA 2120HZ or IZA / ZA 190-HZ (depending on the required power) is required. Or you can used 100V attenuators instead of the CC-1 as long as you do not need to change input source per zone. You can also have a look at our 4 channel amplifiers like the PowerShare and our new PowerSpace line. BR Arno
