CSD 5.01 red cross when renaming and zooming

Ivar-at-Bose ·
Hi, When you hit F2 to rename an object and use CTRL-Scroll to use zoom, a red cross will display and the file gets corrupt. After saving your file the CSD is not able to open it again and gives error 'File read error'. See screenshots attached. See attached.

ESP-00 Connection Failure CSD 5.0.2.989

Matt Poles ·
Hi all, I am having trouble connecting to the ESP through CSD. I have tried connecting directly from my PC (win10) to the processor via crossover cable, and also through the network switch where the only 2 devices were the PC and ESP. The processor is fresh out of the box and I have tried using the 2 latest versions of CSD 5.0. I'm hoping someone can help me out or offer any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Matt, Arno is correct about a little unusual behavior from time to time with the ESP00II and CSD 5. However, before you do a rewrite of the file for 4.4.2, open up your design in CSD 5.02, and then highlight the ESP00 II icon in project view (single click). At the top of the CSD window is an icon (9th from the right side) that is a DSP resources calculation. If you click on that icon and get the same error message instead of a % readout of DSP resources, you have a programming issue in...

Hi Bernard / Guillaume, I nailed it down to the Pset dropdown list. Pset buttons will work fine. I've logged this issue. Workaround is to use Pset buttons instead of the Pset dropdown list. If Pset dropdown list is needed, add a Pset button to your canvas. When CSRclient start to be unresponsive after power cycling the ESP, press one time on the Pset button. After that the Pset dropdown list will work again. Sorry for the inconveniences. BR Arno

Re: Error Window when going online with CSD

Arno-at-Bose ·
Hi Bruce, Could it be that they changed the network address after they added the Dante Endpoints? If this was te work flow, CSD didn't updated the new network address to the Dante Endpoints (is a logged issue). Easiest way to solve this, is to remove the Dante Endpoints and add them again when CSD is set to the correct network address. Sorry for the inconveniences. BR Arno

ControlSpace Remote volume control desync from ControlsSpace Designer

Luis Bejarano ·
I've found this happening when I operate the CSR while being online with the amplifier. If you try to control from both ends they can get de-sync. Then CSR volume slider will have no effect on the amplifier, the only way to control volume now will be from CSD. To fix this you have to set the slider on CSR to minimum and then manually set the volume on CSD to -60. Once you do this they'll both be at sync again. I think the problem is that in CSR the minimum volume value is -60 and in CSD the...

Hello Luis, Thank you for reporting this issue. As you are writing that CSD shows infinity as lowest value, I assume you are using groups to control the PowerMatch outputs? In that case, it is caused by the fact that the steps using the group slider (changing the value using your mouse) are not 0.5 dB which is should be. As long as you change the group slider using the up/down arrow keys they stay in sync. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the next release of CSD. BR Arno

Red power light on ESP-880AD - not showing up in CSD or CSupdate

Johan Delta ·
Hi Everyone, I'm having an issue with a ESP-880AD. A file upload was interrupted due to network problems and since then it's showing us a red power light. It doesn't show up in CSD or CSupdate and when connecting through RS232 or network it asks us for "buildroot login". It's still on the IP-address we set but we can't access it with the software (we can ping it though). Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hello Johan, Can you try the following: start ControlSpace designer during booting, click regurally the scan button hopefully at one point the ESP-880AD will be populated in the Project View at this moment you will have a short period of time (about 10 seconds) to upload the empty design. Please let us know if this solves your issue. BR Arno

Hello Luis, sorry for the inconvenience. Could you send me the original design file for investigation? The first thing that comes to my mind is that in the original design the Expansion card was set to Dante 16 and we can now have 32x32 channels. So maybe the conversion to that caused the red LED. On your options: - Not make it mandatory to update the firmware to go online and work with old designs. We need to do this because we constantly adding new features and if old firmware is loaded,...

Copy/Paste ParameterSets crashes CSD 5.5.1

Using CRR and ParameterSetLists damages the file (CSD 5.5.1)

Kiril Terziev ·
If I use CRR and simple ParameterSets – no issues (Test 1, No PSetList, CRR). If I use ParameterSet to recall from PSetList – no issues (Test 2, PSetList, No CRR). Using both in project also works, until you save and try to open the file (Test 3, PSetList, CRR). I lost one day and a lot of files identifying this, attached files are for reproducing the issue. Adding any CRR in Test 2 will crash the file, calling PSetList in Test 1 will do the same. Any known workaround?

Hi Kiril, I've tested this here, and I am able to reproduce the issue. Engineering is being made aware of this one too. This seems to happen in CSD vers 5.4-5.5.1. It works in 5.3.2, and I assume previous versions of 5.x from there as well. However, I believe this isn't something that's done often. Creating a parameter set to invoke a pset list, only to select another parameter set seems redundant. Though, if you have a good use case for this, I'd like to see if I can come up with a...

I use this feature in cases with a lot of scenarios and mixing and changing them is a lot easier. For example, in this project I have 30+ ParameterSets grouped by function in lists for smaller reusable tasks and 10 for main scenarios. Main p-sets calls smaller ones and they are reused many times, changing is very easy and foolproof. Using them as a list in remote is also useful, because adding new item does not require editing the page and adding new button for that. Information about which...

CSD 5.6 does not have correct EQ version

CSD 5.6 comes with EQ 0.051 (the same as 5.5). In hardware manager everything looks fine and up-to-date for PMs. When you try to connect, error is: "Please upgrade the EQ File to version 0.053 or newer." Can we receive correct EQ file?
