Dear all, I've downloaded the ControlSpace Remote app on a customer's smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 with Android Nougat 7.0. As soon as the app opens an error pops-up “Unfortunately App has Stopped”. Please notice that I have never been able to run the app. I did some google search and followed some simple tips on how to solve app crashing issues on Android 7, but nothing worked. Any thoughts anyone?
Our PTS group just got a request for a software link for a Bose ControlSpace AMS-8 amp. The only reference I can find for the product is obviously old links from European countries and none of them are active. Is there anyone out there that can help us with this request from a customer? Let me know here or send the link directly to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org Many Thanks in advance,
Hi All! I just prepared a setup for a system composed of 2 PM8250N amps, different zones and 4 input devices. After preparing the setup in ControlSpace Designer I imported the file to ControlSpace Remote Builder in order to design an app for the customer; he wants to control each zone (room) separately concerning volume and audio source. Is there any (easy) possibilty to add an input selector like the DropList from which the user can pick one of the audio sources connected to the PM8250N?
Hi Florian, CSR supports Analog/digital I/O (volume/mute), AMM (mute), Gain (volume/mute), Selector, ToneEQ, Groups and Psets. The PM has a fixed architecture, so you would not be able to add a selector to the design. So the only way to create source selections for them PowerMatch in CSR, is by using the Psets (as you do already). Best regards, Arno
Hi Florian, The PowerMatch was not designed to be controlled by an User Interface, but only receive setup changes using an ESP. Just one ohter thing: Only one Pset can be active. Example: Pset 1: Source 1, Zone 1 Pset 6: Source 6, Zone 3 Invoke Pset 1 and the button/selection in CSR will be highlighted. But if you then invoke Pset 6, the button/selection of Pset 1 will go "off" and button/selection of Pset 6 will be high. Hope you will also have a wonderful X-mas and a happy new year. Arno
Even on x-mas! Thanks a lot! :-) Please find my CSD-Project attached. I also added a screenshot how the app is planned. Aim is to have such an overwiev for every single room/zone. The "source presets" for output CH 1-3 are done, yet (PSet1-15). I can not finish the app in advance, because the client's IT guy did not sent the IP-addresses of the two PM amps, yet...
Hi Florian, No problem, we are here to support you. The beharior I describe for CSRremote is just the feedback to the App. If you want you can upload your design or send me a private message and I can have a look at it. Arno
Hi Arno! I've never worked with this App Designer Tool before, so please excuse me to ask again... I saved about 60 presets which affekt only the "cross points" of the Amp's matrix; 5 PSets for zone 1, 5 PSets for zone 2 etc. As my team already installed the devices in the location, I currently have no possibility to test my programmed stuff in advance, but if I click the orange PSet-button in the ControlSpace Designer, everything works as it should: eg.: I click the orange button of PSet #3...
Hi Florian, Your design looks good, as you removed hte unwanted cross-pionts and gains. In CDRbuilder 2.1 you can modify the IP address after you made your design. File --> Updated Remote app IP address.. Arno
Hi Miltiadis, With ControlSpace EX-1280C and CSR 2.2 you can create a signal indicator, by using a meter (logic out) and Logic output. This logic output you can use in CSR and indicator. If you use multiple logic outputs connected to the meter and set different thresholds in the meter block, you could create a VU meter, but there will be some delay. So it will not be optimal. In attached example you can see how to create the signal indicator. BR Arno
Hello, I'm new to ControlSpace and am trying to get a system operational. I've been having problems connecting to the 1240 Dante Network card in Controlspace reliably. It says I need a firmware update but when I try to find the correct file it doesn'r seem to be in the Dante Firmware folder. I found a help file PDF link here in the forums but for some reason I don't have access to view the topic. Can anyone advise please? Thanks! -Joe
Hello, In the past the Dante card for the ESP FIXED IO supported 16x16 channels. We have upgraded this to 32x32 channels and therefor it will be seen as a different card. Attached you will find a Technical Bulletin how to update. I hope this will solve you issue. BR Arno
Just a heads up for anyone having this issue when trying to install Remote builder 2.5 Solution: I had to turn off Real-time protection on Windows Defender Security Center Then the install will proceed like normal. My info: all windows updates to date.
I've found this happening when I operate the CSR while being online with the amplifier. If you try to control from both ends they can get de-sync. Then CSR volume slider will have no effect on the amplifier, the only way to control volume now will be from CSD. To fix this you have to set the slider on CSR to minimum and then manually set the volume on CSD to -60. Once you do this they'll both be at sync again. I think the problem is that in CSR the minimum volume value is -60 and in CSD the...
Hello Luis, Thank you for reporting this issue. As you are writing that CSD shows infinity as lowest value, I assume you are using groups to control the PowerMatch outputs? In that case, it is caused by the fact that the steps using the group slider (changing the value using your mouse) are not 0.5 dB which is should be. As long as you change the group slider using the up/down arrow keys they stay in sync. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the next release of CSD. BR Arno
Dear support, I have a client requesting sound for his conference room that uses webex for voice calls, but also want to be able to use the audio system to amplify local voice. I'm thinking this design, but don't know how I would handle the local audio scenario. is enabling these outputs on the matrix enough to accomplish my goal? Besides the obvious coupling issue what other issue should I be prepared for? Thanks.
Hi Luis, This configuration works. There is a small risk of mic feedback in the local overhead zones, but not far-end echo. It might be better to set cross-points in the matrix to send each mic to an overhead zone that excludes the closest speaker to that particular mic. Example: Best regards, ChrisJ-at-Bose
As Chris mentioned, use voice lift zones If needed add feedback suppression blocks I would advise you to please the mic PEQs post-AEC and add mic PEQ for local reinforcement. You can also set the Speaker Matrix to Advanced, so you will have a better overview of the matix. To do this, right mouse click on the CRR, navigate to Matrix Mode and select Advanced I have no experience with Webex, so I cannot command on that. BR Arno
Hi Luis, It's unlikely that it will be a problem, although it's generally good practice to leave signal processing post-AEC. There is a small potential for an extreme amount of processing to affect the AEC algorithm. Best Regards, ChrisJ-at-Bose
