Hello, My Bose S1 Pro is now approximately twelve months old and is used regularly on battery power, normally recharged when discharged to 50% (two indicator flashes). I play out using both main channels (no bluetooth) for mic & guitar; both set at roughly half gain. I have noticed recently a volume drop out (overall/both channels), that seems to slowly return to normal after a short time. At the time of posting, I am draining the battery fully and will then recharge normally to full...Read More...
So, whilst performing the system reset I noticed on my “Bose Connect” app that there was a firmware update available. This is downloading as I am posting this message. I will be using the S1 later today, so I will report back soon. Hopefully this will solve the issue! Thank you all for your input........Brian.Read More...

Problem with L1 Tower connection

Looking for guidance on repairing my LI - the tower doesn't fully work when connected unless I lean the whole unit back with a wedge. Must be a loose connection in one of the tower pieces or the base unit. Would something like WD-40 sprayed help, or is this a factory repair? Thanks!Read More...

not enough bass

I just bought 2 s1 pro speakers. I like them but would like to get more bass. I have 2 b1 bass speakers from an old L1 tower that no longer works. Is there a way to line out and hook up the b1’s to the S1 pro speakers?Read More...
Hi Dan Proctor, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. Welcome. Bose does not offer a companion subwoofer for the S1 Pro. It was intended for portable applications and to be run on battery power. Question Can you use the B1 Bass Module with the S1 Pro System Answer The B1 bass module is only compatible with the full-size L1 systems (L1 Classic, L1 Model 1S, L1 Model II). The B1 bass module is powered by a dedicated amplifier that is built into the power stand of those L1...Read More...

Bose Compact Elevated?

Harry
Hello! I have had a few "standing on the floor at audience level" church gigs lately (Just my acoustic guitar and vocal). I decided to try to elevate my Bose Compact to get up over people’s heads when they are standing (See pic). It's typical for people to stand at church when they are singing along with me. This method seems to really help project sound and also helped reduce feedback issues. It felt like the bass/lows were a bit thinner? (Maybe my imagination) Anyone else do this? Or...Read More...
Thanks Jose 2 and SoundGeek, appreciate you commenting, great info! I'm not sure why it took so long for me to try this but I'm glad I did... Cheers!Read More...

Trouble connecting to a venues in house system

I've used my T1 Tone Match with my L1 system and most recently with my S1 Pro speakers and I love them, but I recently had two venues ask me to pipe my sound through their in house audio system. Since I use my "Master Out" to go to my S1 Pros, I thought I could use that (using a TRS to RCA Y cable at one venue and to an XLR Y cable at the other) I was unable to get any sound at either venue and they had their systems up to max as did I on the T1 Tone Match. When I swapped out the T1 for a...Read More...

Adding External Equalizer

I have a Bose L1 Model 1 with 2 B1 Bass modules. While I do like the unit and it's power, I am not satisfied with the overall tone. Are there any suggestions regarding which EQ would work well with the L1 to effect the overall sound of 'whatever' is going through it? The Bose EQ is way above my budget of $80 to $150. Also, would I use the insert for this application? Thank you... TRead More...
Hi Prota-Zha, For your electronic drums on channel one, try the Presets 00 or the ones from 70-78. Preset 14 sounds like a good choice for vocals but experiment with 01 through 19. You may find one you like better. Thanks for the added information. The links I gave you in the my previous reply still apply to your L1 Classic. STRead More...

Minimum distance between 2 L1 compacts in a live perfomance

Hi, I play in a duo and we have two L1 compacts, overall they work great. Sometimes we play using both L1 compacts. I noticed that sometimes it sounds like we are getting some sound interference, the two modules creating different sound waves that essentially collide. When using two systems is there a specific minimum distance the two units need to be at?Read More...
Hi sjrippe, have you tried using each L1 Compact system discretely? You connect to one unit and your duo partner to the other - no interconnects between the two. This should eliminate the interference and should result in better localization, clarity and better feedback control. It is worth a try.Read More...

high pitch sound from T1

I am running a Zoom G3n into a T1 and on to a Compact. Sounds find. If I put anything in front of the G3n--another G3n, an EQ, etc--there is a high pitched done that comes through. This does not happen if I go from the G3n directly to the Compact. It is not an ear-splitting sound--but definitely audible to an audience. The music coming through the Compact sounds fine (other than that tone). I am using unbalanced patch cables (I have tried several--and I have never used anything but...Read More...

EQ for Wireless Mic

Is there a more compact way to get midrange eq for my wireless mic than using my Behringer Xenyx 1002B mixer? I am a magician and I've always had to adjust midrange to avoid feedback in my microphone. When I was using a full headset mic, it wasn't much of an issue but now I'm using a Que Audio DA-12 earset mic and it's a little more prone to feedback. I don't mind bringing the 1002B mixer when I'm using two S1 Pros but, for my smaller shows, the mixer is more than I need. Ideally, I'd like...Read More...
DO NOT buy the Shark, and in fact, if you want one, I have two that I am selling. I have the same issue, and now just use the T4s Parametric EQ to dial out the feedback. You could always use a battery to power the T4s. The Shark would get false alarms for no reason. It thought it was feeding back, and it was not even being used through the main PA. Very odd.Read More...

Noise on power on and off of new L1 Model II system with T4 Tonematch Mixer

I used to own a L1MII with the T1 and B1. Used it for years and years. Sold it a year or so ago, and then ended up buying a new one. L1MII with B1 and the new T4 Mixer. Sounds great, as always, perhaps a bit tighter sounding, great reverb. Anyways, I hook everything up as I always have, plug everything together then turn on wall power > Base Power> T4 Power. When I turn on the base power, before I can even get to the mixer, there is a POP through the tower and sub. Same type of noise...Read More...

2 l1 model 2's for blues band

Hi im playing in a 5 piece. im fronting with Vox,sax, and harp. there are keys, 1 guitar, bass and acoustic drums. Do you all think 2 model 2's with 2 b2 bass cabinets should be enough for us. We mostly play bars with 100-200 peopleRead More...
FWIW. We have used one Model 2 with 2 B1s many times for our 5-piece blues band with great results, for both indoor and outdoor events. We have 4 mics, gtr, bass, keys and drums feeding the T8S. When the drummer feels like using his acoustic drums, we mic just the kick. When he uses the digital, he has a separate mixer that he send a feed to the T8S. However, lately we have been using 2 Compacts and a Behringer powered sub with great results and such an easy setup. Still using the T8S with...Read More...

S1 Pro system with Guitar Amp Modellers

ST
Hi Everybody, When I heard about the S1 Pro system I was curious to know how it would perform with a guitar amp modeller. You may already know that my favourite rig for small electric guitar gigs is my Kemper Profiling Amp with an L1® Compact. For bigger rooms I use the L1® Model II. Yesterday I spent some quality time with the S1 Pro and these units Boss GT-1 Kemper Profiling Amp The Boss GT-1 is a great little unit I carry it in the car most of the time in case there's a chance to play an...Read More...

best portable pa system for my needs

Hi. I was a member of the forum years ago but now I have a question. I am selling my F-1 system with sub and I would like to buy a more portable system as I get older. I play live with kind of a one man band sound. I use the Beat Buddy drum machine and a Porchboard bass unit so the system I need has to have adequate bass response. The S-1 speaker sounds great but can't handle my bass load. I was told I could use a S-1 and connect a Packlite to a B-2 bass speaker. Could I use 2 S-1 units with...Read More...
Like you I’m at the stage where lightweight is good. I have an L1s and an earlier L1 m1. I find the latter a bit heavy and awkward. The horseshoe power base is difficult to lift in the back of a car and as I’m just medium height 5’7”, I have to crook my arm to walk with it which is why I bought the L1s. I have 2 B1s and a B2. Although the B2 is great it is also heavy and bulky so I usually gig with 1 or 2 B1s and they are fine for the vast majority of the gigs I do. I have an S1 pro which I...Read More...

T4S Recording to PC via USB into Audacity

I'm setting up some basic recording from the T4S via USB using Audacity as the mixing/recording software. I notice that the input level is low. I've maxed out the "recording volume" in Audacity and tried turning up the Master Output volume on the T4S, but this doesn't help. I also looked to see if there is a way to increase the signal strength going from the T4S to the USB cable but I haven't seen anything yet. Any suggestions on increasing the output level from the T4S?Read More...
So my son, who did some sound engineer work in the Air Force, and has a bit of experience with Audacity was giving me some pointers over the phone tonight. I was telling him how I have to use the "amplify" effect to get the volume on a track loud enough. He let me know about the "gain" feature for each individual track. I played with that a bit and that works much better than the amplify effect. So, once you record the track, you just use the gain slider that is to the left of the track.Read More...

Can T4 earphone jack safely power S1Pro Aux input?

I'd like to try using the headphone jack in the T4S for monitor output (to aux in on S1Pro) because I expect it to be the same mix as going out the mains, but with its own volume control handy right above the Master volume on the T4S. The manual warns "Headphone Jack - for use with headphones only, with a minimum impedance of 24 ohms". Since the S1Pro aux in handles earphone connection from other devices, is it suitable for connection from the headphone jack of the T4S? Thanks, - Jim MRead More...

blown tweeter?

Hi all. I have a l1 compact and love it. I just bought a l1 model 2 on Ebay. It sounds muddy as compared to the compact . Not a great deal, I've seen the same package for as low as $$$$$ in Craigslist... the difference... you can test the equipment if it is a local purchase. The L1 II has a different sound than the L1 Compact, which is a tighter sound in my opinion... ideal for guitar...!! However, it should sound really good regardless...!! compare both side by side using different instrumens/mics and crank up the volume on both systems... look for niceable differences. Did it come with the T1 mixer...?? Best.Read More...
