toonz out of order - do anybody know about problems?

Hi I am new and I have tried to find answers on several things. Often I find a post with a link to an artcle on toonz.ca. ex http://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/index.php?title=L1™_Unofficial_Performers%27_Guide But it do not work. I get a blank site. Do anybody know about that? - is it out of order, or is it just me who cannot reach the site? it is a pity, there is so much I would like to read there. regards MetteRead More...

Jami, Oops, my Oprah-ian is not that good, but "you go girl!!!" ;-) I'd say you are on the right track. We've been happy with the systems. Reach out with any questions you have. A real guru on the subject for me has been ST. He's very helpful and patient. I'd add that the entire BOSE community up here seem to not only be very knowledgeable, but also quite respectful. Buzz/static

Hi, everyone! I'm a pretty new performer who sings from tracks at assisted living and rehabs. So please bear with me as I speak in non-technical terms. <.< Recently, like within the last week my L1 compact (which isn't really mine, I borrowed it from my booking agent about 9 months ago) started making a static buzzing noise. It gets worse, of course, when I turn up the volume on the L1 itself. I have a wireless mic which I run to the speaker with a 1 and 1/4" cable. I run the inputs...Read More...
Hi Liz, Happy New Year 2018. Thanks for getting back to us. It's great to hear that it was basically a "simple and inexpensive fix" . It's very often the small almost "insignificant" things that cause us headaches. Yes it's because the wires are similar in shapeto the alphabet letter "Y". Taking into consideration your description at the beginning of the thread what you appear to have is a Y-Cable with RCA males at one end (white and red) going into the Compact and a stereo mini-jack (1/8...Read More...

Using Bose/Tonematch with Line 6 Helix guitar modelling

Currently considering changing from conventional multi-fx and stomp pedals running thro' an L1, to a Helix - anyone out there with experience of presets, settings, or problems?? Is the "Line 6 pod" preset useful, should I start flat and experiment from there? Don't want to spend that much money and find that modelling and Bose don't play nicely together . . . Ta, Weedsy edit title: previously "Using Bose/Tonematch with Line6Helix guitar modelling" to facilitate searchesRead More...
Hi ST, I bought the LT, perfectly OK for my needs. First impressions are good; in comparison with my last non-modelling multi-FX I suppose that's not surprising; but it gives proper amp sounds, with picking response as per the valve days. And I can still use two of my favourite pedals - if there's a fault, it's that the drive effects seem a bit "buzzy" - but I haven't tried them thro' a real amp - maybe the preciseness of the Bose is a fault here (!) I've only just launched the editor (I...Read More...

L1 1S thinking of purchase

Hello, I am a female vocalist who sings to backing tracks. I mainly sing in WMC and social clubs, but also care homes and hotels. I had a setup up of 2 Ev ZX4 speakers and a Dynacord Powermate 1000, but wanted to get something more lightweight. I went to a few music stores and more than once I have been told that the best thing for me would be the Bose L1 1S with B1 bass. I understand that Bose claim it is suitable for audiences up to 300, and I would never be performing for more than that -...Read More...
No problem here. It happens to all of us Again not a problem. If you can describe it we'll generally understand what you mean. Everyone here started out with no technical vocabulary. If you don't understand what's being said, ask if someone can explain what's being said. I'll generally try to explain so that most people can understand, but it's definitely not a problem if something has to be explained in more simple terms. In principle it could very well be all you need for the gigs you're...Read More...

bottom & top arrays

My question is: if it's possible to conect only the bottom array without de top array and have No damage to the L1 mod II. Thats because in my studio I don´t have sufficiente espace, its only 2.05 meters high and its not posible to use the two arrays together because they are higher than that measure. Thank you very much for your helpRead More...
Hi Chris, Just done a gig where the room height forced the band to run the arrays side-by-side (mounted base on table and velcroed the two arrays together). The sound quality was amazing! Would it be possible to reply with a picture of how you fixed the top array with velcro to the speaker stand? Thanks, Jim S.Read More...

Monitoring Questions - L1® Model II

While I'm here I had question about monitoring. My set up is often solo with just vocals and backing track. I do swing, lounge and jazz music so it's perfect. I do feel that for most gigs that I need to be a good 8ft away to the side to push volume as much as want without feedback though. I got the L1 model II so I can cater to big gigs and have actually entertained big corporate functions in ball rooms with just this set up. But occasionally there are two problems: 1. To push the volume to...Read More...
Hi hoohaa1, 4 for $10 black cat 5 cables. I've had good results with microphone cables at audiopile .net I've had lots of cables that cost much more. I can't tell you that you get what you pay for. Try turning down the reverb on your vocal a little. This may give your voice more presence and allow you to get in front of the backing tracks. Try recording your performance with a recorder, tablet or cell phone from the middle of the room with more and less reverb. Please come back and tell us...Read More...

Recording using T1 Tonematch

I am using L1 Model II with B2 Base and T1 Tonematch. Is it possible to record all four channels separately from the Tonematch? I am using MacBook pro and logic pro X. Thank you,Read More...
Hi Shaime, USB is capable of supporting multiple channels. The T1® USB output sends two channels - Left and Right. It's up to your software to recognize that. I can't help with the specifics of Logic Pro X, but you should be able to set the recording source to USB (it may say Bose USB) and see two channels. I found this article on the web that might be helpful. http://www.dummies.com/softwar...aces-in-logic-pro-x/ And here's a link to the Logic Pro Help community.Read More...

Wireless Microphones

Hey Everyone, It has been quite some time since I have been on here. Completely new look and format, Wow. Anyways, I am looking for a decent dual wireless handheld system that wont break the bank. Preferably the smaller profile receivers. That way, I can have two in a single slot rack. I am a Shure guy, and the system I was looking at was the Shure BLX288 w/2 PG58's. Problem is the receiver is just slightly too long to all two units in the rack, side by side. Plus $549, is a little more than...Read More...
Hey Guys, thanks for responding. I have used Gemini stuff in the past. I recently tried the Behringer wireless, but they don't have the receiver yet, or it was discontinued, not sure which. Behringer usually provides some bang for the buck. The only option was through USB in the computer, or if you own one of the Behringer wireless ready systems that the dongle plugs in to. Well, it had terrible latency. Sent it back. I forgot about the Line 6 stuff. I love their guitar wireless, which I own...Read More...

Washing cylindrical radiator bags?

Can I chuck my bags in the washer/dryer? I put my bags on a table the other night after a gig, and that table had some unseen goop on it; some barbecue sauce and I believe some fat from some ribs. I wiped 'em down, but they're still a bit nasty and need a better cleaning. Thought the washer dryer would fix em up nice....think there's any risk?Read More...

Would L1 model 2 work as monitors with F1 system

Hi, some background info. My sons are in a Coldplay tribute band and do gigs in venues for between 200 - 800 people (inside and and outside). I recently upgraded their PA to 2x F1 tops & 2x 812 subs the FOH sound is fantastic, really happy with them. The problem is they now have a stage set up with a stage runway of around 4 meters for the vocalist. I have to say the crowd love it and it makes it more Coldplay. The issue is major feedback with the PA situated in the conventional area...Read More...
Hi dbmurcia, Thank you for joining the Community. This is a wonderful question! Looking at your diagram (thank you!) - it appears the distance from the L1®s to the F1s is about 12 meters. Is that correct? Overall, I think this could work very well. If the distance is 12 meters between the L1®s and the F1s, you'll want to introduce about 40 milliseconds delay between the L1®s and F1s so the sound is synchronized for the people who can hear both. That is: for the people who are in the area...Read More...

T1 mic effects settings

I have "gigged" most of my life and many years ago I loved the Watkins Copicat reverb/echo sounds we achieved on our mics. Is it at all possible to achieve as near to a similar effect from the T1. If so, what are the settings, as I have tried numerous attempts fiddling with delay, reverb, time, feedback etc , but don't seem to succeed in getting the sound I want. I use shure beta58 with my L1, model 2 and two B1,sRead More...

Hi raddy59, Thank you for joining the Community. There are two L1® Models that could work well for you: The L1® Compact and the L1® Model 1S . If you are performing for attentive audiences with backing tracks the L1® Compact would be fine. If your audiences are talking, dancing, or otherwise boisterous, you'll be happier with a Bose L1® Model 1S. This is also a better choice when you have a bass player and keyboards. Does that help? Bose Farm!

Mike in Texas
Our little band The OTHERS has been in action since 1967, last 17 years with three founding members and a couple good new friends and bandmates. Two successful benefits this month - first for a great old friend and high school classmate in health and financial need, and yesterday the American Guardians and Rockwall Childrens Advocacy. Both events raised five wonderful digits of needed help! Pictured is the Rockwall Teddy Bear Ride in Rockwall, Texas - showing our Bose Farm! Count em? :-}Read More...

L1 with F1 subwoofer, but using Aux output

Backstory--- I just recently sold two of my B1s (for the third time), which as a reminder, only leaves me one B1 per L1, which I tried once with only one F1 and did not like it, so went back to 4 B1s + 1 F1 sub. I took for granted how good the B1s really were, especially when using the T1. But, decided to try another F1 Sub, resulting in two F1 Subs, which is why I don't need 4 B1s (just two). I am a big believer in the L1 having a B1/B2 hooked up. I see people all the time try and get subs,...Read More...
