Surround Sound with F1 812 / F1 Subs / S1 Pro / Roomatch RMU208

Greetings, I recently held my first music workshop utilizing a Klipsch home 7.1 theatre with Dolby Surround for critical listening which is a key part of the workshop. Media used are FLAC and Lossless files. The mission was accomplished with the Klipsch but it wasn’t practical for the repeated moves etc... but the concept was proven. up.... I got the Bose F1 Set up to create a more dynamic and immersive listening experience and being that it's my first foray into Pro Audio I wanted to get...Read More...
@jlowe jlowe... I agree that an F1 as center channel would be sweet and I’m concerned with the size. In these workshops I try to have an unobstructed view, but it’s worth a shot. I’ve been looking more at the S1Pro, and it looks to have the same HF Drivers as the 812 but only 3 of them, and a 6” mid woofer. It looks like a mini-812. I’d really like to try theseRead More...

Wireless From T1 Master Out to S1 Pro ?

Musicianthomas
Hi Gang! Got an unusual question/wondering. At two of my venues I use my L1 Model II with B2 Bass and T1 Engine. I also run a cable from my Master Out of the T1 to the S1 Pro Outdoors so that guests out on patios, etc can also hear the show. Works great because the cable slides under the door bottom fine without crimping or cutting into the cable in any way. In the other venue, the door it needs to go through is very tight and will ruin a cable by forcing the door closed on it. Door is too...Read More...
I used it at 4 gigs in the past week. Worked flawlessly. Speakers about 15 to 30 feet away from transmitter. Clients love the flexibility we now have for speaker placement.Read More...

T-1 help needed

This is a conversation from a Ketron forum. No-one offered suggestions, advice … If someone can help, I’ll pass it on (I’m J) and I want to get my T-1 on the job. K - Any Ketron users here use the Bose Tonematch (T1) , just interested in a few hints. Feel free to PM me J - I have had a T1 since they were introduced. I used it a couple times and went back to my old Edirol M-10DX. The T1 was too complicated - for me - to set up, and very difficult to adjust on the fly during a gig. I just...Read More...

Good Music is Timeless

Seagullman
Hi Everybody, A little over 6 years ago Oldghm started a topic "Just a little something to brighten your day" which to this day still gets new posts and I'm sure brightens many people's days. It certainly has mine on many occasions. As I don't want to derail Oldghm's thread, I thought I'd start a new topic which allows me to comment and talk about things which Oldghm probably didn't envisage at the time. Although I've played in many bands, I've never stopped picking up a guitar and playing...Read More...
Hi Tom, I just read this on your Website. “If folks drive home with a nice memory in their heart pocket and a song stuck in their head… ...….then we’ve all had a fabulous night.” That's a bit Déjà-vu for me because at the end of a gig I quite often say "If you've all enjoyed yourselves half as much as I have, then we've all had a super evening. Loud occasional digital noise

i have had the t4 tone match system with the LT2 for years. Recently purchased the t8s with the F1 speakers. ‘When the bank is all ran through the board. Bass, drums, vocals, piano, guitars. And we are playing hard, we get a loud digital scrambled noise. I’ve heard it in another post with similar situation they said it was like an alarm with a dead battery. ‘We tested this. And was able to replicate it by everyone playing hard and all vocals hitting in microphones hard. Any idea on what is...Read More...

Adding my new L1 compact to my T1 and L1 Model 2 Setup

Hi folks. Proud owner as of this evening of my first L1 Compact. Having used the Model 2 for years and being so happy with it, I decided to get a compact as well for several reasons. Number one I have a weekend restaurant residency where it's very background music, and I'm lucky if I push my Model 2 to over a quarter on volume - the response has been fantastic. So thinking of swapping over the compact to 'live' there so free up my Model 2 for bigger venue gigs during the week. I also am now...Read More...
Bluetooth won't work. Too much latency built into the system! I've used the xVive U3 wireless system which is designed for both microphone and line level use. Works pretty well and doesn't cost too much. More here about the system: https://www.bosepro.community/...master-out-to-s1-proRead More...

Saving scenes, syncing T1’s and wireless headsets

I am fortunate to have acquired two used T1’s, one for home setup and another for gigs. I’m in the process of incorporating a Countryman wireless headset. I’ve scoured through the forums to get advice - most of them going back 12 years - on how to harness all the feedback. As I readjust all those EQ and more settings, I am somehow unable to grasp saving them as a new scene, while still keeping the old settings in another scene. I liken it to a Word document, say a song list, where I can...Read More...

Bose L1 Model II System with B2 Bass and Tone Match - Cylindrical Radiators have stopped functioning

Hi, everyone, Just turned on my Bose L1 Model II System with B2 Bass and the Cylindrical Radiators have stopped functioning. No pins appear to be bent. Tone match functions on all channels but on the sub fires. I've reset the base power, Tone Match power, reseated the Cylindrical Radiators and nothing but bass. The system has been taken apart less than a dozen time in its lifetime. Unit is only abo0ut three years old. You would expect better performance form such an expensive peaice of gear.Read More...

Flat Bottom Speaker Stand

Hello! I am looking for a flat bottomed speaker stand to use for ceremonies and cocktail hours with the S1 Pro. Trying to keep it as discrete as possible and avoid anyone tripping on a speaker stand. Connect S1 Pro to L1 Compact to get Stereo Signal?

Hi, I own a L1 Compact and plan to purchase a S1 Pro. I also use a T1 ToneMatch to feed the L1 Compact. As far as I know T1 only feeds a Mono Signal. My question would now be how can I connect the L1 Compact to the S1 Pro to get a Stereo Signal? It does not have to be via the T1. I just want to play background music (Spotify) from a portable device in Stereo on the two speakers. Thanks, AndiRead More...

Mic feedback

We are a duo of guitar and bass, both sing and we use backing tracks. We have been using some floor monitors to better be able to hear the backing tracks. These are powered monitors one of which is a Bose S1. Both are fed/looped out of the L1 main 1/4" output. I've also tried a mic stand mounted monitor. We're both using Sure SM58's but are having great difficulty with mic feed back. We try the usual; reduce treble and volume, reposition the monitors, move the L1 compact back further.Read More...
Good idea with the donation. We don't use them any more. Since L1 Model II we find that we manage very well and aren't as cut-off from each other. Should we find ourselves playing through someone else's PA and they were available, we still have our in-ear buds which are pretty good. Figures ... but for many things I wouldn't have thought that the security of such systems is high enough. But ... let's try not to derail the thread too much with this ... although I quite enjoy such discussions.Read More...

Upgrading my 4 channel T1 Tone Match

Looking to upgrade my 4 channel T1 Tone Match mixer to at least 8 channels. Is there a better way to go than the 8 channel Bose Tone Match? Can one purchase a Bose 8 channel mixer used? $1,000 yikes!! Can one trade in a Bose 4 channel for a Bose 8 channel? Can I safely play an electric bass using the T1 and my L1 Compact?Read More...
These are all great suggestions. The other question to ask is do you want/need digital mixers? Absolutely nothing against Bose mixers as I know digital has a lot more potential, but I use a 12 channel Yamaha MG series mixer that has been great through our L1 M2 with 2 B1s. You won’t have some of the fancy digital capabilities like scenes, but it is reasonably priced and easy to use. If I need to tweak some EQ, I like to be able to reach over and simply twist a knob on a channel. I know, old...Read More...

Shure KSM9 and Vocal Pedal - Not getting phantom to mic T4s

Yea no doubt! I searched Google and Sweetwater. None of the sites even mention the phantom as an option. Even in the YouTube TC instructional vid.....you’d think they’d be proud of that feature. I almost ditched the pedal because of it! As an update, I decided to go flat on the Bose T4s.....and unity on the pedal settings. The pedal just cuts through the mix SO well. Love the ease and clarity of the Shure KSM9, now that I have phantom. Thanks to all for the help today :-)Read More...

S1 Pro System is made for solo performer?

This S1 pro lacks the essential bells and whistles for solo amps eg. feedback eq, phantom power, delay, reverb, chorus, DI, notch filter, looping, ... ... these items usually come on solo amps for acoustic electric. I use the S1 for solo busking, but use pedals to compensate for the lack of these normal features on solo amps. not present on the S1. Using a PA or the Ts / mixers is another solution. Using T1 Channel 4

Doing an upcoming show with a T1 owner, and only available channels on his system are 4/5. Have a powered Radial Tone Bone PZ-Pre Preamp, which outputs a balanced 600 Ohm, mic-level signal. Can this output be practically used with the line-level channel 4 of the T1? Would I require a impedance transformer (vs female XLR to male TRS adapter)? Would the Ch 4/5 trim likely account for the difference in input sensitivity? Other options available from PZ-Pre: 1/4 Phone unbalanced with 1K Ohm...Read More...

New T8S mixer with Bose L1

T8S works fine powered up and plugged into an EV powered wedge. When I connect the T8S to my Bose L1 system it cuts out - will play for a very short while then bang lights out. L1 Base still has power - just no power to the T8S system. I bought the T8S for the reason of needing more inputs plus having the flexibility to run another speaker system or just use it with my Bose system. The salesperson (BetterMusic in Canberra) told me I could achieve both my objectives using the T8S. Can anyone...Read More...

L1 Model II w/TI Tone Match

I have been been using a L1 Model II system w/the T1 Tone Match mixer for a while, now. I am a solo guitar/vocalist and play frequently at area churches. I use a Shure SM57 microphone and either a Taylor T5 or Takamine Santa Fe Acoustic guitar. Volume too low with Shure SM58

Kjellarn
Hi! I unpacked a Bose S1 Pro today (alongside my L1S/B2/T1) planning to use it at a small gig on wednesday. But I am disappointed with the volume on the microphone (Shure SM58). I have tried different inputs and settings. The guitar sound great and with lots of headroom, but I have to crank the volume almost to maximum to get (to my ears) a reasonable volume from the Shure. (I have ordered a Sennheiser e945, thinking it was a better mic than the SM58 (which is OK) but I'm getting second...Read More...

Playing music from iPhone through the L1 Model 2 system

I perform in public a few times a year with my L1 Model 2 system with the T1 ToneMatch audio engine. I was wondering if anyone had advice as to the best way to play music from my iPhone through the system while we are taking a break?Read More...
FWIW, if you don't like Bluetooth the iPhone lighting to 1/8" adapter is dead simple to use and is only a few bucks to $10, depending on where you buy. I keep a 3" one in my pocket for whenever I (or someone else) might need it. If you're already connecting a 1/8" cable to a system, adding the lighting adapter isn't a big deal. Yeah, we can all whine about it until the cows come home (and I do my fair share), but it's just not that big of a deal anymore. I prefer Bluetooth myself as I can...Read More...

Hi Simon hawkins, Set the ToneMatch Preset to Neumann KMS 105 and follow the instructions for gain staging as shown in the video below. For best results, use close-mic technique (lips barely brushing the windscreen). If you sing farther away, the sound will be thin. Then use zEQ if necessary to fine tune sound. The videos show a T1 ToneMatch audio engine, but are equally applicable to the T4S. For best results, do your listening and fine-tuning in a gig-sized room at gig volume. Add effects...Read More...
