Bluetooth IEM?

Interesting that the Bose Connect app can connect two channels, eg: S1 Pro and Bose Earphones, could this be a solution for In Ear Monitoring? My concern, for anything other than streaming backing tracks and playing along live via the S1 Pro XLR/Jack inputs, would be the standard Bluetooth latency. For example if I used the iPad/iPhone apps for the guitar and voice effects then the 200ms delay from strum-to-sound would render it useless.. But I see the Bose QuietControl 30 earphones have the...Read More...

Plugging in additional instruments / mics

Apologies if this has already been posted (if so, please reply with link to forum discussion) but I want to know what musicians are doing to accommodate following simply scenario. Live gig with using one S1 PRO speaker with one acoustic w/ preamp plugged into Instrument Input #1 with 1/4" cable and one Mic plugged into Aux input. Guest musician comes up to join for 4 songs. Wants to plug in. How can this be accomplished? Does the S1 Pro handle Y 1/4" cable splitter and XLR Splitters? would...Read More...
Other folks on this forum have used the S1 with the Behringer 1002B mixer which is battery powered and has phantom power (although it’s 24v vs 48v so won’t work for all mics conceivably). That seems to be a cool setup. Undoubtedly, there are other battery powered mixers out there, this is an example of one that’s being actually used in the field.Read More...

T1 output to house pa

I've read a couple of threads here that come close but wanted to ask: what is the correct splitter to use, to send dual XLR outputs to a house PA wall socket? The house PA often requires 2 XLR inputs to work properly, so even though the T1 is mono I need to be able to split into 2 XLRs. I've read here that we don't like splitters, but surely something must function for this?Read More...
I highly recommend the ART SplitComPro Splitter/Combiner. It's inexpensive, small and a great tool to carry with you. I have used it in several situations for splitting or combining and it works very well for either use.Read More...

Rechargeable Bluetooth ToneMatch Mixers?

It would have been great if Bose was to have made the latest ToneMatch mixers as portable as the S1. It could be a great family of portable products allowing great ease and flexibility for "remote" performing. Just think, a T8 streaming stereo bluetooth to your pair of S1's, where an entire ensemble could be plugged into. Is this in the works? Thanks, John.Read More...
If I used channels 1 or 2 on the Bose S1 Pro, that would add reverb to the entire mix. The Behringer Xenix 1002B does not have onboard reverb.Read More...

Having the ability to drive 2 S1s in stereo is cool, but are there plans for future features that someone can comment on? If this is all the app will be handling, it won’t be terribly useful for me.Read More...

Do especially live PA and dj work. Currently 2 set's of the bose f1 so 4 top's and 4 subsRead More...
I use it b/c the F1 subs tend to require a very hot signal, and even at Max volume from my mixer, and well into clipping on mixer, my F1s still have room to breathe, so I use it to add volume.Read More...

Muting iPhone alert sounds on S1 Pro?

Archtop Eddy
Does anyone have know how to mute unwanted alert sounds (beeps, buzzes, rings, etc.) while using an iPhone wirelessly with the S1 Pro? I love the idea of using my iPhone music during breaks, but when I get a text or email message, the alerts come blaring through the speaker. This is unacceptable during a gig. Any ideas anyone? Thanks!Read More...
Thanks fellas -- Those are both great ideas. Just what I needed!Read More...

Best Combo for Tyros 4 + Vocals

I'm a newbie in the group - what a wealth of info in here!!! I'd like to get your input... I'm a one-man band using a Tyros 4 and vocals. Sometimes, a guitarist will join me. I play to audiences up to about300 people. I currently have a big Roland RC 550 k/b amp (great bass punch), with a separate Behringer passive amp driving 300W speakers for the vocals. That RC 550 gets heavier every night, and the Behringer combo is not exactly a great sound. So, I'm trying to decide which BOSE system to...Read More...
Many thanks to all for the valuable responses..... just wondering if you had any thoughts about using the Tonematch for the Tyros/Vocals/etc inputs?Read More...

L1 II loss of volume

This system has worked flawless for 8 years. But at last nights gig we had to turn up the trim on the power base and tonematch to 3/4 to get even medium volume. When using the Tonematch, the "Trim" on the power base had no effect. Using my Mackie mixer with 1/4 input into the base rather than the cat5, it works fine, although there is a low hum that didn't used to be there, but is not detrimental.Read More...
Hello Bobby, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. Since it's the weekend, I'm filling-in for Bose Support. Here's a little background information. The Model II Power Stand analog input trim has no effect on the signal from the T1® when it's connected through the ToneMatch port. The analog input trim only affects a signal input through the analog input. Please check your system (with T1) today. If you are in a different location and everything sounds okay, then there could...Read More...

Hum in S1 Pro

Hi! I have problems with my Bose S1 Pro, when I turn the volume upp on either/booth mic channels it comes some hum and even when I have connected to a mixer or linecable to my computer. The hum don't comes when I only use a mic direct in to the S1 Pro or with bluetooth. I have updated to latest firmware without effect. Any one that have any idea what it is for problem? PS I have 2 of them and same problems in booth.... /OskarRead More...
Hello Oskar, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. I am sorry you are having trouble with hum when you have other devices connected to your S1 Pro systems. Are you running the S1 Pro on battery when you hear the hum? Do you hear the hum if you run the laptop on battery? What you are describing could be a ground loop or a noisy power supply to your laptop. You can check the ground loop issue - make sure everything (S1 Pro, mixer, laptop power supply) are all connected to the...Read More...

T8 mixer overdriving channel noise

We used the the T8 mixer with two L1 M2 towers on probably a dozen gigs since we got it at the beginning of the month. We like it a lot.! We noticed that sometimes if the trim from channels are set too hot and the red LED peaks out for a second, it will not just distort that one channel, but it seems to take out the whole mix on the outputs for a split second with a loud static white noise. I know the solution is just to set the trim to a lower level but in the live performance world you you...Read More...
Hi SuperJazzMan1234, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. Let's talk about the input trim. You're right, you don't want hard clipping on the inputs. Typically, you only need to set the trim once for a particular input. That is: you won't change it during a performance. When you want to change the loudness of an input, use the channel volume control for that input. Here's a video about gain staging. It applies to all the ToneMatch mixers - with one difference. The T1® (in the...Read More...
