stereo effects

Does the effect engine of the new mixers operate in stereo? Are chorus and reverb in stereo? When panning a channel in stereo operation, does the reverb effect pan together with the source signal, or does it stay centered, with only the source signel following the pan? Thank you.Read More...
Thanks ST although it may sound picky I get questioned and nailed for using the term stereo generically. I see many using the term stereo, meaning two channels, this is not true stereo. I am not saying one is better, meaning stereo verses stereo effects. I am interested in how effects route out when using an effects loop verses the front of the amp in both stereo and stereo effects. I will check you references shortly as I just read your response.Read More...

T8S power issues

Received a TS8 TM 3 weeks ago and it has been great until 2 days ago when the T8S powered off while I was playing. Powered it back up and stayed on. I’m connecting it to a L1 Model II BOSE system. Tried it again and after 15 minutes or so it powered off again. No other power outages are occurring in the house. This morning I used a different power cable to a different L1 Model 2 and 30 minutes in it powered off again. So I’ve eliminated the L1 unit and power cable as the culprits. I keep the...Read More...

L1 with a condenser mic

We have a small gospel group that plays small venues in churches, nursing homes, community centers, etc. We have 5 band members and rather than carry a bevy of mics and a mixer board, we use a Condenser mic for the group.. so we have just the mic and the L1 to set up, quick and easy. And, with instruments, the L1 and single mic make for enough to carry in and work well in the small spaces. The sound for the audience is great, but the L1 has to be "in front" of the mic in order to avoid...Read More...
Don’t know if this helps but...We have 2 guitars and 2 mics with the t4 and my buddy uses a Neuman condenser mic and we stand anywhere from 3 to 15 ft in front of it. Never in back of it. 150 shows and counting and never heard microphone feedback from the L1 and he belts and keeps the volume up. Must be something fixable. One of the reasons to buy it is you can stand in front of it and toss the monitors. The projection from the line array is really good so behind the choir should be good for...Read More...

Bose L1 wireless monitor system

We are a 5 person bluegrass group and use an L1 for most of our events... mainly nursing homes, small business events and the like. We really like the quick set up and ease of use... the system works great for us with one issue. We use Audio-technica AT40333CL mic which is a condenser mic. This lets us get away without carrying a lot of mics and it is common in the bluegrass community to use this type of mic. The Bose and the single mic are all we have to set up and the sound is terrific.Read More...
Hello, Ray. Thank you for joining our Bose Portable PA Community. Bose doesn't offer a wireless in-ear-monitoring solution so we don't have a recommendation for you. Here are links to some vendors who carry these kinds of devices. T8S plugged-in to L1M2 base....

Hi there, I'm new to the forum, although owing Bose gear for years now. Just got my T8S mixer on the other day, very impressed with it, yet has anybody tried to connect it to the actual base station of the L1M2 yet? I know owner's manual says don't it, it is now enough power coming from it to run efficiently T8S. Yet It does work - I've done it, but for a reasonably short time, in case if T8S can get damaged. But it didn't and I wonder if there's any official note coming from the company...Read More...

Battery Questions

ccc
OK I decided to figure out some of these battery questions. I made sure the battery was fully charged, turned it off and left it alone for three weeks. Turned it on after the three weeks and nothing dead as a doornail. So I remembered it needed to be awakened, did that and nothing. It would not awaken. So I plugged it in the light went to a solid steady blue light both front and side/back. What happened, battery go dead? Or would the wake up not work? Just an a side note this amp sounds...Read More...
Unless I am busking where I play people listen to the sound and how that music comes out of the speaker. Not interested in how loud this little amp is. They listen discriminatively and qualify the performance by the final expression of music and the nuances coming out of the amp. I bought this amp for busking, but now I will be playing a lot of jazz with it. As I stated before it makes me smile.Read More...

Adding a second L1 and the trials and tribulations of a Surprise Entertainer

Hi folks. Was looking for some help and led me to this thread. I've been using my Bose L1 Model 2 for the last few years and it's changed my life work wise. I now have a hotel residency where I sing to live musician recorded backing tracks and the sound is phenomenal. I recently played a big band show in a large music venue and though the reaction was superb, I couldn't get the level of tone and monitoring through their pro level system as I'm used to standing slightly to the left of my own...Read More...
Hi ST (first of all). Thanks for detailed replies. I'm not sure how to include quotes from your email to reference like you have alas. With the wedding the room I was in I can't find exact measurements online but I'm gonna guess it was 25 metres long or so. I think my main issue was not realising how loud the system would need to be once room was full of talking people. Then whenever got near top table where the system was (and unfortunately my desk) feedback was immense. I think in...Read More...

Hum in connection

i am running 2 L1 series 2 Systems with B2 bass cabs. Each system has its own T1 tonematch mixer. I play in a trio: vocal/guitar, vocal/bass, drums. I run guitar and vocal into one system, bass and vocal into the other. I was hoping to put a little bit of the mix from one L1 into the other, and vice versa. When i try running a TRS balanced cable from the out on a vocal channel to an input channel on the other system, i get a nasty hum. I have tried running the out signal with various cables,...Read More...

No Signal on any of inputs on T1 Tonematch

Not sure what happened, but for some reason none of the inputs are putting out a signal with acoustic guitar or microphone when plugged in. I don't get green lights above when volume or trim nobs are adjusted. Tried factory reset on prefs selection. I use it as a mixer going to another source. Never dropped or anything crazy like that. Unit powers up fine and lights up and all menus are there when you turn dials. All cables are good from the Bose power adapter cable to all instrument cables.Read More...

S1 Pro custom colored slip covers...?

Archtop Eddy
I'm posting this question as a separate thread from the original postings/survey about the custom colored slip covers since the original thread seems to be closed. Are these custom colored slip covers still being considered by Bose? Seems the idea might have dropped off the radar. Understandable if so, maybe due to a lack of response. At first I wasn't sure about the custom color slip covers, but since I've been playing a lot of outdoor gigs, I see the value of the light (white) color covers...Read More...

S1 Pro blinking blue light?

Archtop Eddy
Quick question here... Today I noticed the blue light on the front panel of my S1 was blinking. If I recall correctly, the unit was running on battery power and I kind of forgot it was on. Probably on for a couple of hours with nothing running through it. I'm thinking the blinking blue light was a reminder that the unit was on. Is this correct? Does it only do it when running on the battery? As soon as I switched of the S1 and turned it back on, the blinking was gone.Read More...
FYI: Still not sure how long it takes for the S1 to go to sleep. However, I've learned it will do blinking/sleeping mode even if the unit is plugged in and charging. It is not reserved for only when the S1 is running in battery-mode.Read More...

3 become 1

Hi, Just posting my L1 story, firstly these forums have been a great help for setup and getting help, thank you all..!! Now writing this, i'm regretting ever purchasing L1s. I had second hand Mackie speakers for around 7 years and they never missed a beat. Last year I purchased 3 second hand Bose L1 (classics i think, the round base model) and currently only one works. The units will not power up, i've changed the fuses and contacted Bose in the UK who's response was "sorry they don't work,...Read More...

The legs on my Powerstand have become so loose they flap an inch up an down at the end. Can I replace these myself, my unit is out of warranty. Can I get the parts in Spain, or is this a fix for a service centre? is there a Bose service centre in SPAIN.. I’m hoping they are as good as Bose would want as I’ve had stuff serviced in the past (not Bose) that came back not tooo clever... Thanks DaveRead More...

T4S monitor outs easier to use than I expected

Somehow, I got the mis-impression that each of the four input channels on the T4S could only send a monitor out signal to one of the two monitor outputs. I was wrong. I also thought it would be tricky to punch each channel selector, and then find the monitor mix settings. Also wrong. Used both monitor outs on a gig tonight, and found it very easy and quick to adjust each set of inputs in each monitor during live performance. Also used an S1Pro as one of the monitors - on battery. Very...Read More...

Software Updates?

theonemanband
Hello....... I have had my S1 Pro for four months now and have used it for small indoor and outdoor gigs (Danelectro 12string guitar & vocal) and have to say I am delighted with it. Battery life is excellent, as are the sounds it produces and I am often complimented on the sound (upright on the floor). My question is regarding the “service” usb connection and it’s use. Are we to expect any relevant software updates and if so will these be posted as available on this forum? ...Read More...

Using two S1 Pros for live gigs

Archtop Eddy
Today, I used two S1 Pros for a simple restaurant patio gig. Just me, my guitar, some foot-pedal gizmos, and a microphone. I used one S1 Pro for the main PA and daisy-chained the second S1 Pro as a monitor at my side near my feet. It worked perfectly. Easy to set up, easy to adjust, and providing the perfect sound balance needed at the gig. Previously, at home I tried setting up the two S1 Pros so guitar came through one and vocals through the other. I like the way it sounded and plan to use...Read More...
Today I used 2 S1 Pros in a place where I normally use an L1 M2. Mostly just to see how well it would work. Of course, it didn't sound as full or clear as an L1 M2 but it worked surprisingly well -- well enough to do it again! This is the kind of place which is one big bar room and with all the hard surfaces it sounds like being in a boisterous school cafeteria. Even the L1 is challenged in this room, so I didn't expect the S1 Pro to do better. I just wanted to see if it could do well, and...Read More...

S1 Pro - adding additional mic and instruments

Thanks for feedback. You mention you use the S1 Pro for your acoustic Duo. With only 1 Mic input and one Guitar input, what else are you using to plug in the additional mic and instrument? I generally play solo, but would love to be able to plug in my mandolin or have extra mix/instrument option for "guest" musicians to join me. @theonemanband @CityFolkRead More...
Since you can plug in 5 XLR inputs and 5 1/4" inputs at the same time, with active preamp DI boxes you have 10 fully controllable mono channels + 1 fully controllable stereo (I.E. keyboard) channel with the battery powered Behringer Xenix 1002B mixer.Read More...

Accessing this site from an iPad with Safari

This new topic is spun off from: Software Updates? ✄ - ✂ - ✄ - ✂ - ✄ - ✂ - ✄ - ✂ - ✄ I don’t know if this will make any difference, but I’ve seen the Bose website be very picky with the browsers accessing it. For example I cannot login to this community using the Safari browser on a new iPad. I get a SAML error which means nothing to most people, but being an IT guy, I know what it means which pointed me to using other browsers. Case

I would like to know if there is a case that both of these speakers will fit perfectly into. Preferably, one that is thin and does not take up much room. I want the speakers to be stored inside our rack when not in use so they will have a good "travel case" but I want them in a smaller case, inside the rack. Due to their phenomenal size, they fit well inside the rack as it is but I would like them to be a little more protected than they are without a case.Read More...
