Linking T8s to an analogue mixer

I’m a travelling tribute artiste and have a number of gigs at holiday parks this summer. Some of these parks have their own FoH and ideally I’d plug the T8s straight in to this. As this is not always possible, is there a way of going out from the T8s in to whichever mixer they are using (usually analogue). I bring my own monitoring and like to at least have control over my own aux out from the stage, even if I can’t do much about the FoH. TIARead More...
Hi Dolly, The instructions are the same as I described above. Get things set up the way you want - connecting your T8S to whatever you are using for your monitors. Then You can send exactly the same signal to the FOH system using the second pair of main outputs OR You can send a different mix using the Aux output for the FOH system. If you want the Aux output levels to be independent of changes you make to the monitor mix, set the Aux Tap Point to PRE on each channel. Here are some notes...Read More...

T8s And DJ Controller Hookup

Jablon
Hello BoseWorld, just received my T8s and would like some info on how to get the best of the mixer in my application. I am a mobile dj using primarily Pioneer DDJSZ as my main rig. Over the years I have performed at events where several mics were required and in some cases performers have asked to hook up their equipment [Guitar, Sax] to my mixer. So, the need for the T8. I’ve received conflicting information from BOSE pro support so here I am. *** I would like to hook up the DDJ to the T8...Read More...

F1 812 and sub settings

I run a left right and sub out of my X32 mixer. Subs are not wired to the 812's. What should the settings be on the 812's for signal input and EQ? What should the settings be on the subs for line output EQ? Thanks in advance!Read More...
@cstew1923, I would recommend using the "With Sub" on the 812 and "Thru" on the F1 Sub and feed the output from the F1 sub to the 812. There's no reason to crossover in the X32 in my experience. Bose did a great job tuning the active crossover configurations on these speakers for you. You won't be able to do much better without more time, effort and equipment.Read More...

L1 classic half work

Hi to you all, I am Fabrizio from Italy. I have a couple of used (not by me) L1's classic with 4x B1. One is perfect, the other nope. I run them always with a line input in the input 3 (at volume 3) and already tried the input 4. The broken system sound awful, No eq and NO x-over. I have full range in the sub output, Removed the radiator and checked the 3 amps individually. All works correctly if driven from their inputs. If I use one of the classic line inputs (3 and 4) in every amps out I...Read More...
Hi there, the firmware 1.84 and 2.0 presets was updated correctly. The issue is still there. Stuck in diagnostic mode, ****. I try the input 1 and 2. If I change the presets the system correctly stop the audio for a second (to load the preset) then come back and the sound changes as well. So the software is running, the electronic seems to be ok except the amp section, stuck in diagnostic mode. Something happens there, imho. 3 amps with no eq or DSP. Did someone has the same issue in the...Read More...

Model II analog input

i have a T1 that has an iPad for Dj music and singing tracks and sometimes I let people do karaoke but I have to disconnect the iPad and move it to a spot 10 ft in front for them to do karaoke via YouTube Premium. I thought it might be easier to have connected another iPad to the analog input on the L1 II so it’s always ready if someone wants to do karaoke. . I just received the cable 3.5mm to 6.35mm stereo audio cable to test it and it sounds awful. I played some songs and could hardly hear...Read More...

Thanks for the advice but it doesn't answer either of my questions. BTW I do own the smaller version (200w vs 300w) of the one you referenced . I brought it from the same manufacturer in China and have used it to power my Carvin AG300 for a 2 hour outdoor gig with great results Also I've used a Power It Battery Generator (500w psw) and a Duracell Powerpack Pro 1300 (600w msw) with similar results. L1 1S level fading in and out.

Until quite recently I have been feeding my backing tracks from a PC via USB to a T1 mixer. Occasionally for the first few minutes after powering up the audio level output from the L1 would fade out and then back in again. I had assumed it was an issue with Windows mismanaging priorities, however, this is NOT the case. The problem now still exists when the backing tracks are played using the USB-A player on the T4s. I doesn't matter if the feed to the L1 is digital or analogue. The fault...Read More...

T4S Comp/Gate - can I pick more than one per channel?

So, I'm playing with the new T4 and I'd like to have a better understanding of how things work than I did with my T1. I read the wiki for the mixer and have watched videos, but there are things that still aren't clear to me. Perhaps starting this Basic Questions thread will prompt others to ask questions that will help all of us. I've got a feeling that I (and probably many others) don't use half of the tools available on this mixer. I'd like to learn more, and make the best use of this...Read More...

L1 1S Tonematch Channel Effects Question

Hello, I have an L1 S1 with a T1 Tonematch. I love the system! Can you add more than one effect on a given channel under the "comp/gate" channel parameter on the rotary dial? For example, if I am running a microphone through Channel 2...can I put a compression effect on it and also add a De-esser as well. I have tried and when I go to 'Prefs' under 'Global' on the rotary dial...it shows Channel 2 with just 'cmp' and 'rev' (compression/reverb I assume) and no de-esser even after I have...Read More...

T4 Just Arrived!

WOOHOO! My new T4S just arrived! I just finished posting about battery power for the T4 and my doorbell rang with the delivery. I'll be spending my afternoon updating the firmware and doing some initial testing with my S1 Pros. I think this combination will make an OUTSTANDING portable, small venue PA system. Line Out signal level

When using the Line Out jack to a house PA is the level of the signal output a fixed level regardless of gain settings for the channels or is it dependent upon the combination of all three channels, settings etc? I've seen it mentioned both ways in the manual and in the wiki differently dependent upon the type of cable. The wiki states "Most mixers will accept an unbalanced, line-level device. If you use a Tip-Sleeve cable from the S1 Pro system Line Out, you are providing an unbalanced,...Read More...

L1 wedding ceremony setup

Gig Report: Hey all, one of the great functions of the L1 is the wide dispersion. When you use these outside, the sound just fills the space, and for things like a wedding ceremony, you don't need to have the PA right up front to cover the area. I set the L1 in the cluster of trees in the flower bed, to the side about in line with the second row of seats, and angled the face of the cylinder toward the back corner. What's not shown in these pics is that there were people sitting up the hill...Read More...
I use an L1 Compact for fill in awkward or large setups, and I don mostly weddings. I just use a bodypack transmitter (Shure) from the Bose T4s and send the signal to the L1 Compact, the same could be done for the S1. I also bring a battery to power the L1, but with the S1, it would be even more versatile bc you can run it on battery.Read More...

I've been using my Bose L1 Model 2 system with B2 Bass Module for 4 years now.. I love the system but have been experiencing problems with the bass module pretty much since I bought the system.. Digital Noise/Feedback Loud and BAD!!!

Hello Everyone...looking for some help here. I have been trouble shooting this issue since I bought my T8S. I have a pretty complicated setup so I have been hesitant to post the issue but last night I think I finally isolated the issue to the ToneMatch Mixer. I use the TC Helicon Voice Live 3 in my setup. Input to the TC Helicon is my 1/4 inch cable from my Acoustic Guitar and Midi In. I use a dual Mono Output via 2 -XLR cables going into the mixer one line is Vocals and the other is Guitar.Read More...

What type of line input cable to use

Hello again, I use my Bose L1 S1 with a Behringer X-Air digital mixer. Typically I connect the Bose system to the Mains Left output and pan everything to the left. I recently ran into a problem though. I had to set the system up with the Mixer further away from the Bose system than usual. I had previously bought a 25 foot balanced XLR to Trs cable for this situation. I set up my system and turned everything on but there was no sound coming out. I could see from the mixer's meters that there...Read More...

L1 Model I, no response from B1 Bass module

Have an L1 M1 with issues and seeking advice. The bass won't work. If we unplug the bass unit the 24 speaker work fine and I can hear the music. (Just less bass). Plug the bass in and the whole lot sounds very tinny. There's also a nasty buz now when we turn the unit on. Checked all leads, bass feed and link for second B1. any advice on other checks please ? Edit Subject: Previously "L1 M1" Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...
Hi ScubaBadger, I'm sorry your L1 Model I has stopped working correctly. The L1 Model I and L1 Classic were engineered to work (with less bass) without a bass module. With the L1 Model I, when there was no bass module detected the crossover switched from 200 Hz to around 110 Hz. That's why it's still okay without a B1 (just less bass). The system detects the B1 and switches the crossover to 200 Hz, and the system sounds tinny. That's hard to diagnose, but from the other symptoms, it sounds...Read More...

Connecting L1 1S to Two powered PA Speakers

Hello, I've had my L1 1S for a few months now and I love it it. I can't get over how great everything sounds coming out of such a small system. We're a four piece band, two guitars, bass and drums, three vocals. We typically play small bar, patio type venues. However, we have a gig coming up where we will be playing outside at a small beer festival. There will be a small stage set up in a large parking lot and I expect we'll be playing to about 100 people directly in front of the stage but...Read More...
Hi Again, We did our gig yesterday and everything went great. I daisy chained the two powered PA speakers and connected them to the mains right output and connected the Bose ZL1 to the mains left output. B1 and B2 Questions

We are an acoustic trio, but sometimes have a bass player. We have some options with two systems, but rarely need to use both systems. What is louder, two B1s, or one B2? What has a better bass response, two B1s or one B2? In one L1 system, can you run two B1s and a B2 together? If so, how? On a B2, what is the best bass level setting on the back of the speaker for guitar and vocals? Will two B1s sound better, if not louder, for guitar and vocals, than one B1? Thanks!Read More...
It depends. From a drum perspective: In my former band, I mic'd my bass drum with an Audix D6 Mic in a 5" hole in the rest head. Prior to the B2, I used 4-B1s with an Bose A1 Packlite amplifier. When B2 came out I bought one, preferred the NORMAL level (or -) and while I liked the added low warmth and sustain, I missed the punch. I also had lots of unruly bass frequency issues on hollow, elevated stages, and corner stages. Enough problems to quit using the B2. Acting on info gained here in...Read More...

Using S1 Pro To Power T4S Mixer

I just finished reading a post explaining how to “connect” the T4S mixer to the S1 Pro. However, there is nothing said as to the power scheme of the T4S. I do a lot of busking and love the S1 Pro’s option to be powered by its internal battery.. But would it be possible to use both the S1 Pro and T4S as a portable setup? Meaning, would I need an AC power supply to run the T4S or could I just use the S1 Pro’s power supply to run both units?Read More...
