Considering Selling Old Bose Systems for F1 812

captacoustic
I'm thinking of selling my Compact and Classic and going to a single F1 812 with subwoofer. I don't gig as much as I used to and I'd like to clear up some space and simplify things. Most my gigging these days is in a duo. Any thoughts on this?Read More...

What features would you like in a next generation L1®

ST
If you could have anything you want in an L1® ... Ask, even if you don't think it's possible. It wasn't that long ago that the L1® was impossible. Have fun with this. STRead More...
The Compact is what it is but the idea of moving the array to the back and the control knobs to the front is the best thing I've seen on here. You generally looking back at the unit while performing and not seeing the lights overloading is bothersome. The controls are pretty basic but it would be cool to be able to reach them from the front rather than walk around to the side to monitor lights or knobs.Read More...

As a live sound engineer who is new to the Bose approach I've been watching videos of bands using the L1 systems live to get some idea of different set up possibilities. On the Bose YouTube channel there is a video of Foreigner doing a gig in 2014 with four L1 systems. There is a good overall shot of the stage at this point in the video: https://youtu.be/sibKEEBlfWs?t=1m28s I noticed a couple of things I'd like to ask about: 1. The band has two L1s behind them and two L1s in front, the...Read More...
Hi Bruno, I'm not sure if you can see, but in this setup, I was miking an a cappella group and I was using 4 mics. The two condensers in the middle and if you look closely, you'll see two boundary mics on the floor. Those were directed towards the side singers. The reason for this was that having the singers between the mic and the L1, eliminated any potential feedback issues. The stand mics did double duty for the back singers and any soloists that stood up and moved closer to the mics. The...Read More...

Tone Match problems

I am considering buying a Tonematch mixer. When reading reviews, I noticed that many people had problems with it freezing. When playing a gig, they often had to bring a back up mixer as a precaution. It seemed like the posts were several years old. Was there a systemic problem with the system? Has Bose identified the defect and fixed it? Bottom line: How reliable is the mixer?Read More...

Differential Mic set up

Hello all, first time posting in the forum. After all the posts I've read about using SM57's, using a Y-cord differentially wired (and I completely understand the technical reasons for why and how), I still have not seen a good photo or sketch showing the placement of the microphones as discribed for the preset. The way it is described has just got me baffled for lots of different reasons... Hopefully someone can help here. Thank You very much.Read More...
Thanks ST, and a warm hello. back to you and this wonderful community. That is the description I was talking about that had me wondering.. T1 user-loaded scenes have become corrupted. How to 'start over'?

T1 user-loaded scenes have become corrupted over time: 1 instantly causes feedback, several others' titles have begun to appear garbled & incomprehensible. Not getting a Stereo Signal with RCA inputs on L1 Compact

I am KJing with a Laptop running to a behringer mixers' RCA in and out to the L1 Compacts RCA in. I noticed a while back that I was turning up the main on the Bose a whole lot more to fill the room, but now recently I've noticed in cases of songs (mostly older one's where it would stand out) that I'm not getting stereo from a stereo RCA feed. Of course, I've verified it's not the cable. The sources are stereo ... Any Suggestions?Read More...

FAN problem - Bose L1 Model2

I've been using an L1 Model2 for many years and I've never heard the fan noise. Now I've bought a new L1 Model2 and just light it up I always hear the fan noise, that's normal? Turn on and the fan rotates for a maximum of one second and then drops to an average speed. But being always lit even when there is no music, the fan is audible. I called my nation's customer service and they say the fan should not always be on, and I have to send the product into service and stay without it for 15...Read More...
Hi MagicAudio, The change in behaviour Before: The fan would come on in response to load on the system. After: The fan runs at low speed all the time. Reliability Issues There were no widespread reliability issues related to the fan operation. The L1® is a portable product for musicians and performers. There were a few exceptions though, where the L1®s would be left running constantly for years, unattended. L1 Compact for cello and organ

GLB Productions
Hello everyone :) I have a recording gig coming up in a month or so which involves a solo cellist - amongst other works he'll be playing Marcel Dupré’s sonata for cello and organ, which has never been performed in Singapore before. The current plan is to use no reinforcement at all, as the venue is a concert hall. However, given that the hall is fairly large for solo cello (600+ seats) I can foresee balance issues when it comes to this particular piece, especially for those seated in the...Read More...

Entscheidungshilfe L1S1 oder Modell 2

Forum: Deutsch
Hallo zusammen, erhoffe mir hier aufgrund eurer Erfahrungswerte etwas Unterstützung. Ist jemand hier...Read More...

F1 front of house with L1 stage monitor

We will continue to use our L1 system with two B1 bass units behind us as a monitor system. For some very small venues this will be loud enough for the audience as well. However, for larger Club and Theatre gigs we will have two F1s out front. Is there likely to be any phasing problem because of the different distances of the F1s and L1 from the audience? We will keep the volume of the L1 down to reduce the over spill to the audience.Read More...

L1 Model 2 With B2 - Adding F1 top and sub

Hi I have been trawling through trying to find my exact scenario, but I can't. So here it is. I have L1 model 2 with B2, I love it and have used the system with B1 and B2's for 6 years. I perform acoustic music and vocals, BUT for weddings I also perform with electric guitar and backing tracks. I have had a few gigs recently where the volume of the L1 just didn't cut it. I had 100 people dancing on the dancefloor, the L1 loud but starting to distort a little. I think the Bass from outside...Read More...

F1 Graphic EQ Settings

Hello - Been using the Bose F1 812 & F1 Sub going on one year now. We use L1B2T1 for duo gigs with backing tracks up to 150 people. More than that we use the F1 812 - 1 per side, sometimes without subs, or one sub or two, depending on size of venue and guests. Some gigs it sounds great...other gigs could have sounded much better. We did an A/B comparison in a room with 600 guests for dancing with a Yorkville Paraline System, and honestly, we thought the Paraline outperformed the F1. We...Read More...
Thanks ST....nice look for the new forum... The F1 and the Paraline are voiced considerably differently. My observations are as I turn up the volume, the signal clipping is not the issue - it is the feedback - we need to notch quite a few frequencies on the GEQ. Then it appears we lose volume. We've had so many great experiences with the L1 - I bought the original L1 [now Classic] over 8 years ago - and now to the L1M2 - a total of over 900 gigs on L1 systems. From the get-go they were...Read More...
