L1 Model 1 with T1 volume issue.

Hello, I have read quite a few posts IRT volume issues with remote v remote removed. Unless I am misreading something, my issue appears to be unique. So perhaps you can correct me as I have recently purchased the T-1 to go with the L1. It appears as if the L1 goes with the last master volume input from the remote before I disconnect it from the L1 base. For instance, if I select the volume to the 12 o'clock position on the remote (6) and then disconnect the remote cable from the L1 base, the...Read More...
Hello, A quick thing to try, if you haven't already, is to turn the T1's power switch on after you turn the power stand on. (Most people leave the T1 power switch on all the time and let the power stand control everything at once. Either way though, a loud pop isn't normal. In fact, it's a best practice to turn a mixer on before a power amp to avoid pops. Please give us a call at 877-335-2673 if you'd like us to take a look at servicing the power stand.Read More...

Input Clip Light Coming On

Hi Guys. I did post about this once before but wondering if anyone else is having this issue since. The input clip light seems to come on even at what I think is a pretty low volume. I'm used to doing these outdoor events with my 802's & the amp doesn't clip for them & that's only 450w per side (1800VI amp). The 802's are uncomfortably loud to stand in front of when they're cranked up. The F1's are 1,000w RMS so it should be even louder but people are happily standing a foot in front...Read More...

Today I noticed, that two manfacturers of column speakers, that are like a Bose L1 compact copy or a blown up Bose L1 compact will this year release battery powered versions of their products. In one case I heard about the price difference, in Germany it's 800 EUR instead 500 for the smaller system. But when I keep in mind, that the only battery amplifier, what has some bass now has a price above 700 EUR, the 800 for a column speaker system aren't really shocking. Ok, I know this item, how...Read More...
Hi RF Musiker / Musician, In most of the municipalities in my area, street performers (buskers) are not permitted to use amplification . Quoting the rules. Advice needed on best T1 acoustic guitar settig.

After owning and enjoying my L1 Compact since 2009 I finally bought a T1 Tonematch, along with a second Compact. I'm thoroughly enjoying the T1 but I find there is no pre-setting for my old Martin D18 with a K Pure Mini passive under bridge pick up. I use the D28 setting or the Taylor 5 with just a touch of digital delay and a few minor tweaks on EQ and both sound good, but I can't help but wonder if it could be improved on with an actual D18 setting. Is it possible to download the D18...Read More...
Try one out and see if your fingers are happy on the smaller fretboard. The scale length is a bit shorter too. It's a great guitar though and I wouldn't want to miss it. For its size it's actually pretty loud purely acoustically. That's due to (in part at least) to the rounded back which is similar to an arch top which allows them to build it without any bracing there, allowing the back to vibrate more freely. It also has a 013 gauge set of strings which help with the volume. Due to its...Read More...

Feedback - L1 Model II with B2's

Brady
I have 2 X L1 Model II with B2's on each system. We have 3 vocal mics, Roland V-drums, a MacBook Pro for Backing tracks, bass and guitar all running Stereo via a Mackie DL1608 iPad mixing board. I would love to use the Bose as our band monitors AND front of house PA like it's advertised, but I can't get any volume before the PA starts to feedback. I run the trim at 25% on each base and still get feedback at any reasonable volume. Currently, I have to position the Bose at the side and out...Read More...

Hi J9, The Shure SM137 looks like it could be okay for this application, but you'd need to have it close to the guitar and be careful that it can't see the L1®. That is, the line of sight from the microphone to the L1® should be obscured by the guitar player's body. What kind of feedback are you hearing; a high-pitched squeal or a lower-pitched howl? From your sketch, it looks like the SM137 is the fourth microphone connected to the T1®. The T1® has only 3 XLR inputs. How are you connecting...Read More...

Hi Buyung, It’s possible dust could be a contributing factor. Cooling fans are located in the front handle area behind a grille you can check for functionality by playing signal through the L1 and feeling for air movement. Something light in weight like a tissue placed near the fan area should move if the fans are working and the grille is not obstructed with dust. Excess dust removal with the aid compressed air or a vacuum could be beneficial. No there is no recommended potentiometer...Read More...

Forum: Solo Acts
Hi All, I'm doing a charity gig in a couple of months time, in a small venue. I'll be using My Li / S1/ B2 system with Ti Tonematch. there's a variety of acts performing that night, mostly solos and duos. But there is also a Trio who use 3 mics plus guitars. It's a one off gig so I don't want any added expense, so how would I connect an external mixer to the T1 ? Thanks EddieRead More...

Hi Roy, You're more than welcome to any help I can give. I look forward to hearing about your progress here. What's unfortunate about gear nowadays is that the things are so versatile that the learning curve is pretty hefty. Mind you, in the olden days you'd have to buy a unit for each thing. If you add up all the learning curves, maybe it's not really all that bad nowadays. It's just that you've got it all in one unit that makes it seem a lot. TonyRead More...

L1 and Digital mixing desk

Hi guys, just a quick question. I am looking to downgrade from my big rig that i use to 4x Bose L1 Model II with B2 Bass Module. I have currently brought one to see how my band gets on with it in rehearsals. so far they all really like it. But I also own an Allan and heath QU32 digital mixing desk followed by 2 Allan and Heath AB168 stage boxes to give me full 32 channels on stage via cat 5 cable. Is it possible to connect the 4x Bose system to the outputs of the stage boxes and route the 4...Read More...
I agree with ST, try and use it as intended. Are you really using 32 channels? If so, can you share what they are? I get that you want to have one fader to control everything, but it offers you less flexibility. Get a balance of what's in each L1 first, then you can use the Mix outputs to control each L1 and make your work pretty easy with mainly 4 faders to deal with. Hope that's helpful, ScottRead More...

Advice on system requirements

Hello everyone, I am hoping that some of you can advise me... I am looking to purchase an l1 system but am unsure of the best set up for me. I am a solo artist that predominantly gets hired out as a Michael buble tribute act but also sings various other types of music too. As I say, I do sing other types of music but mainly rat pack/swing type stuff. My...Read More...

L1 Volume Control compared to F1 Model 812 Volume Control

I use a Bose L1 and an 812. I get plenty of volume form the L1 by only turning it up halfway. On the 812, I have to turn it up about 3/4 of the way or more to get enough sound. Is that normal? The L1 is 500 watts and the 812 is 1,000 watts. Shouldn't it be a lot louder?Read More...
Hi Danny, Thanks for all the great information. I understand why you're concerned. There's nothing wrong here. The controls on the F1 Model 812 were not calibrated to match the L1® so things will look different. Here's what you can do. Set the L1® Model II Analog input trim to about 10 o'clock. That's a closer match to the input sensitivity on the F1 Model 812. Set the F1 Model 812 volume control to 12 o'clock. You'll have to fine tune the setting on the Model II trim so that the volume is a...Read More...
