S1 Pro Firmware version 7.1.7 update experiences

CityFolk
ST I just did the update for 7.1.5 the other day and had to go through the Bose Connect app vs a computer. Since it is wireless, it took a long time to download the update. But when done the actual update of the S1 went quickly. I don’t suppose the app caches or stores that update on the app’s device so when you update another S1 it wouldn’t have to download the whole thing again? If so, this might be a new feature to suggest to the updater process to allow the update to be kept around to...Read More...

What are you doing with your extra time these days

ST
Hi Everybody, Let's share some ideas about self-care and how we can be kind to ourselves and one another in these difficult times. This is off-topic for our community but we can do this productively if we focus on how we are filling the time left to us because of canceled gigs. For me, this has given me time to catch up on some writing, finish some songs, get reacquainted with my gear, and get in touch with distant connections. Next, I want to explore ways to collaborate with musicians...Read More...

I have an L1 model 2 and the power light is flashing blue and red

This morning I turned on my L1 Model 2 to listen to some music and give my daughter a bass lesson. The music was clicking in and out. I looked at the base/stand and the power light is flashing blue and red. It sounds like a cooling fan in the tower base is turning off and on as well. Any ideas of how to fix this? This unit is a few years old and VERY lightly used. The problem seems to begin 30 seconds after turning on.Read More...

Doing online performances with S1 or L1

CityFolk
I’m seeing several folks mention here about doing online performances. This is new to me and I would love to “hear” (no pun intended) what medium is being used, how did you set it up, what’s involved etc. I’m not looking for super professional setups, something more casual. I’d like to do some performances for some of the retire communities we have played for in the past as they are so quarantined now for their own safety. I hope this topic is not too far off from the purpose of this...Read More...

How to Connect Sony TV to T8S to L1 Model II

Hi, Can someone please help ? I recently got a pair of L1 Model II Bass 2 with the T8S. I try to connect to TV but it doesn't have sound. This is what I did. From TV, Optical wire into Converter input. Converter Output is XLR to 1/4 into T8S channel Mono LR. I got XLR Main out from T8S, each to L1 Analog 1/4. I don't know what I did wrong but I get no sound. I even change the TV's speaker to PCM. Can someone help me to connect the right way? Thank you JakeRead More...

I want to shoot video of acoustic guitar using an iPhone, but I would also like to use my large diaphragm mic that requires phantom power for the audio. I was thinking of running the mic through the T1, in part, to supply phantom power. Not sure how to route the audio from the T1 to the phone. I presume I need adapters including 3.5mm to lightning, but what other cable(s) are needed and what is the input output path, physically and in terms of T1 settings please? I searched through the...Read More...
ST, Thank you for such thorough answers. I will look into the iRig, though i was hoping to avoid spending money on more gear, the increased complexity notwithstanding. I do have a T1 power supply, but setting that aside, to answer your question, the mic is a Neumann TLM 127. I chose it because it was given to me and I have no other option. No further questions, your honor. Thanks again. You're the best. JohnRead More...

S1 Pro as FRFR cab with a Headrush Gigboard

ST
Hi @75LesPaulGuy ! Please tell us how you like the S1 Pro with the Headrush Gigboard . And I'm interested to know what you think of the Headrush Gigboard. I have a Kemper Profiling Amp and I'm looking for something I can use for smaller gigs and as a backup. What kind of music are you playing? Solo, in a band? Size of audiences? Thanks, STRead More...
The Headrush is great, not perfect but very good. As I said I’m returning to multi fx after a long time of using a few pedals and a valve amp so still experimenting. First major issue was the over zealous gate on the input so that had to go. Then experimenting demonstrated that leaving all the fx slots empty does result in the GB passing the guitar signal unchanged (obviously it should but who knows) I’ve not confirmed any changes or not to dynamics/touch sensitivity with the valve amp but...Read More...

T4S into PC

Hi. Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I'm unable to find the answer. I'm trying to record from my T4 into PC via USB. I'm using Audacity or Reaper. Those programs recognize the T4 but I see no recording input. I can use a Focusrite interface and it works fine but I'd rather use the T4. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.Read More...

In & Out to Computer at the same time?

I've been running backing tracks through the T4S's digital input. I want to record the mix of that plus the other inputs. Would it work to send Master Out to USB while also using USB for two channels of in? Ideally, I'll use different devices for in and out. Hi Peter, "USB has a strict "tree" topology and "master-slave" protocol for addressing peripheral devices; peripheral devices cannot interact with one another except via the host, and two hosts cannot communicate over their USB ports directly." -- Source: Wikipedia USB This looks like you are connecting the slave (T4S) to two masters (recorder and backing tracks). Getting two F1 Model 812, do I need the F1 Subwoofers too?

I currently do Small to Medium events with ~1000 people I am going to be using the speakers on poles on the edges of a 17ft stage in the big car park I will be using it mostly for trad bands and Public address the one thing I really need is for them to be properly heard considering the...Read More...
I'd endorse Prakash's comments, you'll need more power than that. If you have a quiet listening audience you might just get away with it but if not, or it's windy no. On a paid job I'd be putting 10-20k watts into that for general music plus at least 8k of subs. You'll manage with less for predominantly acoustic music but not much. Bose kit does seem to bend the laws of physics a bit but you can only go so far. FWIW I have played to 400+ with a similar sized/powered rig to the one you're...Read More...

Impromptu neighborhood Friday evening front porch concert

CityFolk
We just acquired a second S1 and have been anxious to test it out with our acoustic folk duo with our other S1, but like everybody, all of our near term concerts have been cancelled. So we decided to hold a Friday evening front porch concert at our house for our neighborhood and use the new setup. Wow it was amazing. Not only to play for neighbors passing by (we kept everyone at a safe distance outside) who’ve been cooped up all week, but the setup and sound were so nice. We used Xvive U3s...Read More...
Cool Marty! It’s been so gratifying to play this sort of ”gig”. Especially since all our regular gigs have dried up, we were having performance withdrawal! 😁 This will become all the more pressing when NC implements the stay at home restrictions across the state beginning Monday evening! Fair warning on the Xvive U2 or Gataria guitar wireless, you might...Read More...

Connect 3 Bose S1 Pro Speakers to DAP IMIX-7.3 7-channels zone mixer

Recommend a power supply that they have used successfully with the L1 Compact?

I would like to use my L1 Compact in outdoor venues where 120VAC is not available. I would like to use a "power pack" consisting of a battery and inverter. I know there are a variety of inverter circuits which can produce anything from a square wave to a pretty accurate sine wave. I wondered whether the converter in the L1 Compact cares about the quality of the input AC sine wave, so I posted this question in the Bose section here. Connecting a Zoom R16

I have been looking at this d igital multi-track recorder and was wondering if that could be used in conjunction with my Tonematch 4s and L1 Compact. Country of Manufacture for L1 Model II

I recently bought a used L1 Model II and two B1 units from a seller in Canada, who is shipping them to me in Virginia. I've been contacted by UPS for my social security number as the seller listed the L1 as being manufactured in China and therefore subject to tariffs. T8S lid vs T1 lid

troubador
With my T1, the lid slides on and snaps into place and cables connected with the channels can remain in place while keeping the lid on the T1. With the T8S, the lid is designed to cover the channel connectors at the back ... so with cables connected, you can't place the lid back to keep the T8S covered when not in use. To place the lid on correctly, you'd have to remove all cables that are connected - which is a pain. To get around this - basically to keep my T8S covered while not playing -...Read More...
