No B2?

Hello, I regularly perform DJ sets for a department store, and I'm always getting complaints about the bass with my L1 Model II. This despite having the module on the lowest bass setting. So I was wondering if it would be worth just running the L1 without the B2? I realize it's going to alter the overall sound quality significantly, but in the setting I play, that's really an afterthought. Any advice?Read More...

Floor Monitor Concept

Anywhere PRO Audio
Background: I own Anywhere PRO Audio & Entertainment located in Jacksonville, NC. In 2012, I purchased two L1 Model II's for DJ and live sound for multiple bands, trios and solo acts and they worked out great until I set up outdoors for medium size gigs (500+) and couldn't achieve bass to parallel the db of the mid/high range. (in Bose portable PA). Bought four B2 bass modules in 2015 and updated firmware on L1's...some better, but they have quite a bit of annoying rear bleed at moderate...Read More...

Connecting L1 with mixer

Hello, Just ordered my L1 Compact and am really looking forward to hooking it up. I have a Behringer Xenyx x1222usb mixer I'll be hooking up to this. Is anyone familiar with hooking up a mixer like this to the L1? I'm not exactly sure which input I would go to, and what type of cable would provide the best connection between the 2. Thanks for the help with this.Read More...
Hi Gayle, Thank you for joining the Community. Congratulations on getting your L1® Compact. You want a mono signal from your Behringer mixer. This is how you do that. You want to connect the LEFT Main Out to the L1® Compact Channel 2, 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve input ( not the Channel 1 XLR input). XLR Mixer to 1/4 Tip-Ring-Sleeve L1® The output side is XLR so you will also need a converter or cable that is XLR female to Balanced ¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve. I do not recommend using a gate on singers mic's. What I did with my system was set the trim to 12 clock position and I use a Medium compression with threshold set around 25 with a 5db Makeup Gain. more like a set and forget for quiet and loud singers. This might be overkill for compression but working very well for my singers. I also use compression on the KJ tracks also to balance out the volumes of each track. many tracks seem very loud while others seem quiet. I use approx 16 threshold...Read More...

Hi Pgrillone, For the life of me I can't seem to get my system hooked up and running. I am using a similar set up as you (Bose L1, Behringer X1222USB mixer, wireless mics and laptop.) I have my laptop connected to the mixer with USB, Laptop connected to my tv through HDMI, wireless mics are in the 1 and 2 input XLR. I'm using the stereo rca out on the mixer to the stereo rca input on the Bose L1. The microphones are working fine to the speaker, but for the life of me I can't get any sound...Read More...

Tonematch "verschleudert"?

Forum: Deutsch
HeinzRead More...
Read More...

Do I need two S 1's ?

Tom T
I am sure this has been covered but I couldn't find the answer so I am apologizing now :) I just purchased my first Bose L1 1S with both a B1 & B2 subs, I am using the B1 for Cajon, Acoustic guitar and vocal - the B2 for DJ'ing and kick drum small band stuff. Now onto the question, they say an S1 can cover 300 people in the right environment, the II can cover 500 (it is supposedly 3db louder (25%). Can I just get another S1 and cover the 500 or should I just buy one II, OR would I be...Read More...

Hi Mark, Congratulations and good luck with your new system from me too. Regarding the brackets for the microphone stands: Take care to make sure that you use the inserts correctly for the diameter of microphone stand you're using. I've read in the past that the odd user had problems with regards to this (e.g. setting for a smaller diameter than the stand and either not being able to close the clasp or breaking it). If you take care everything will be easy. Another thing. As I always use the...Read More...

We use a Model II for our live gigs (acoustic trio) and usually rehearse purely acoustically in my living room (except for a small combo for the bass guitar). There is, however, nothing to replace the experience of playing live through a sound system. The acoustic orientation disappears as soon as you start to use amplification. The sound reflections from the walls and ceiling aren't there in a live performance situation at a gig. In other words you need the orientation that you experience...Read More...

L1 Model 2's for Nigel Kennedy Australia Tour

Thought people might like this. We recently hired out 4 x L1 Model 2's with B1's for the Nigel Kennedy tour. Apparently he uses them as his stage monitoring. Here's a video a smaller version of his orchestra using 2 x of the L1's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-oMTI8py4U Lee.Read More...
Hi Lee, thanks for the video. Regarding the "Apparently he uses them as his stage monitoring," He actually appears to be using wedges for his personal monitoring. If you stop the video at 2:14 you get a perfect side view of his pedal board and 2 wedges. To me it seems that the L1's are for the complete band monitoring/sound and the wedges for his own personal monitors which he may well need to have a bit louder for intonation reasons (and here wedges are probably more direct and less likely...Read More...

T1 Channel 2 stopped working

I have a T1 I use for band rehearsals, sometimes gigs. We can put the 2 vocals and 2 guitars through it. Then I use the Aux out to one Compact and the Main out to another Compact. Yesterday, I went to set all of it up and channel 2 didn't work at all. All the other channels worked. I had a mic plugged into it. complete acoustic miking for drumkit 7 mikes

Hello! I am a singing drummer/percussionist who is getting back into performing after a nearly 20 year hiatus. Our group had used the Bose 4-302 and 2 802 set up for years, however, the idea of lower stage volume and a clean mix that everyone hears, without stage monitors is enticing, regardless of the price. My question is, if there were a need to mike the entire drumkit using a mackie board...with D112 on Kick, external sm 57 on top of snare, sm57 on hihat, internl May sm57 in 12" tom and...Read More...
Hi Jeff, The short answer is yes, you could run all of this through an L1 Model II for reinforcement of the acoustic sound. As for general guidelines: Having that many open mics on a drum set opens you up to feedback a bit, so mic placement would be important, especially for the overheads. Also, gates/expansion (if you have access to these dynamics processors) on the toms and kick would help to eliminate low end rumble that could build up. I would suggest asking this question in the general...Read More...

acoustic sound

I'm new as a bose L1 model 2 with 2 B2 base module & tonematch user. It's my first pa and I having trouble trying to get a good acoustic sound.I play a martin hd28 and love the tone.Is there settings I can try on the tonematch to find that sweet sound? Any help would be great.Read More...
Hi John, The first thing I would say is to try the different Acoustic Guitar presets to see which one gets you the right foundation. It might be the Martin D28 preset, but maybe one of the other selections sounds better for your model. The next adjustment would be the zEQ option. Without having heard the sound, I would hazard a guess that tucking back the mids or boosting the highs just a bit would sweeten things up. After that, I'd look at adding just a touch of reverb. The default reverb...Read More...

Problem with Base/Amplifier

Hi Anthony, Thank you for joining the Community. I'm sorry that you are having trouble with your L1® Model II. Known Issue? IF... You connect a mixer to the L1® Model II Power Stand using the Analog input AND you are you using a 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable AND you are sending a stereo signal to the Analog input You can get very strange results, often like what you've described. because that input is a BALANCED MONO input.
