Karaoke Track Mixing thru T1 ToneMatch

Hi Guys - I am new to this forum and a novice at musical instruments such as Bose L1 family of products as well as any technical terms that many of you may be familiar with... trying to learn for sure :-). I would appreciate any pointers/guidance to the issues summarized below: Scenario: I have a L1 Model I System with T1 ToneMatch Audio Engine. I use my Windows laptop to play Karaoke tracks (via YouTube or equivalent Karaoke s/w player) and mix it via ToneMatch (using 1/4" TRS jack thru Ch.Read More...
I recently decided to go back to an analog mixer. I want the ability to access the EQ and fx controls without having to go through a menu to get to them. I guess some people are just not ready to give up the old ways. It is not the only reason. I also want to get a mixer so I can retire my mic system that has one of the mics in the affected frequency range that is going to become illegal to use in a couple of years depending on how fast the cell companies that are going 5G make the move to...Read More...

Help: L1 Model II died on a gig

My L1 II just died at a gig last weekend. Plugged into surge protectors, in a hall I've played before, it just ... stopped. Lights were still on, on the Tonematch and the base; the Tonematch was still getting signal, just no sound coming out of the speakers at all. I swapped out the tonematch cable, but it made no difference. I swapped out the speaker columns, but it made no difference. I have 2 of these PAs, so I eventually just swapped out to the other one and finished the gig. But now I...Read More...
Hi, devnulljp, Thanks for all the followup information. It's great to hear that your L1® Model II power stand is working. Very low, out-of spec, AC power (less than ~105 VAC on a 120V system, or less than around ~215 V on a 230 V system. The manual states 110 and 220 for good measure) coupled with high signal level. This can be caused by a low power source, or one where the outlets are a very long distance from the electrical panel, extra equipment on the same electrical branch, power sags...Read More...

Direct Monitoring with ToneMatch

Hi, I am new to this forum and wanted to record a track with vocals and guitar using ToneMatch "USB to PC" and Audacity. I want to record a guitar (CH2) track first, listen to it through headphones and then record a new vocal track (CH1). Now I need to hear the recorded guitar track and also the vocals I am sending via USB to the PC. My idea was first to simply use USB from PC set to Master on left and right channel as a monitoring track but once I hit record this track will also get...Read More...
Hi Andi, I've used a couple of other USB interfaces with two channel outputs. I had to do the same things to split the channels and deal with them individually. I haven't had any direct experience with other freeware recording tools, but I found this article. http://routenote.com/blog/the-...ws-updated-for-2017/ Cheers, STRead More...

L1 Classic Died last night....ugh. Now What?

My L1 Classic finally pooped out on me last night, mid-gig, and so now I must bid farewell, but also make a decision. I loved the Classic, but I am not someone who believes the L1 is the only PA setup capable of great sound. My one gripe, (or hesitancy to diving right back into the L1) is both setup time and the lugging of its components. I play solo acoustic, or with a bass player in small venues, bars, restaurants, etc... It still takes me 3 trips to/from car and approximately 25-30mins to...Read More...
Thanks everyone for the replies. Very honest and helpful. I will call Bose and see what my options are.Read More...

T1 4/5 line in & USB port

Mister "D"
Currently I have my PC connected to the T1 through the USB port for backing tracks. Which the volume is controlled by the 4/5 volume control. So my line in 4/5 inputs on the back are not being utilized which I would really like to. I am running my Strat through a POD HD500, then a Neumann KM105, and an Audix OM7. I would like to use my Roland GR-20 lined into 4/5. But how do I get any volume control if it is being used for the computer? Both the POD and Roland have there own line outs. Or...Read More...
I will try that and see how it is. I had a small mixer plugged into it last night with a microphone and it was fine. But when I plugged the gr20 into the mixer the noise was worse. Like I said, I can plug the gr20 directly into the T1 and it is fine there. I will figure out what is going on.Read More...

F1 cooling

We run 2 f1 top cabs and 2 subs--the back panel on the top cabs get quite warm--I don't see how you are cooling those 2 amps-for the 12 inch or the 8 small drivers--as you know the cooler an amp runs the better The subs are always cool How are you cooling those amps?Read More...
Having used bose products for 25 years-over 4000 events-never had a bose driver go bad--802s-ma12s-mb4s -bose classics ect. Only failures were amps in the classics so a little leery of an amp built in. A replaceable amp module would ease my concerns.Read More...

L1 Model II connect to F1 Sub??

Hi DJTex33, I see you've received an answer from Nick-at-Bose in your duplicate post. Connecting F1 Subwoofer to L1 Model II system I think you'll find that the F1 Subwoofer can add something to your sound, but you will want to keep the B2 running as well. STRead More...

Connecting F1 Subwoofer to L1 Model II system

I have an F1 Subwoofer that I am wanting to use instead of the B2 Bass Module. First of all, is this possible and second, if so, what type of cable to connect from the F1 subwoofer to the power stand of the L1 Model II?Read More...
Hello DJTex33, Good question! Yes, it is possible to connect the F1 Sub. On the Model II, there is a "bass line out" connection which will send a line level signal. You can connect this to an input on the F1 Sub. The connecting cable could be either a 1/4" to 1/4" or a 1/4" to XLR. Here's the catch though - the bass line output is going to be EQ'd for a B2. Your ears can decide if the sound is good or not, but from a technical stand point, the F1 Sub is not designed to match with the L1...Read More...

Hooking an L1 and L1 Model II sytems together

Is it possible to hook an L1 system up to my L1 Model II system for more coverage in larger halls? Have a chance to pick up an L1 and need to know if it's workable?Read More...
Hi Lynn, Connect the T1® to the Model I like this. The T1® will control the volume for both the L1® Model II and the L1® Model I. Preset Set the Preset to 00 (as shown in the picture above). Signal/OL LEDs: Channels 1 and 2 There are two LEDs on the PS1 Power Stand (Classic) / Model I near the Trim knob labelled Signal/OL -- one for Channel 1 and another for Channel 2. These LEDs indicate when the signal level channel's preamplifier reaches certain important thresholds. The trim controls...Read More...

Karaoke player set up

Hi there. Can i install a karaoke player on the model L1-1s with b2 or i need to purchase the tone match? Is it multi voltage (110-220v)? Will this system sound good for karaoke music singing?Read More...
Hi Peter, Simple and Easy - connect everything to the TKR-304P (TJ Media) On the the TKR-304P there are a lot of Karaoke related functions built-in and accessible through the Remote control. Take advantage of the Remote, you'll need to connect the microphones and DVD player directly to the the TKR-304P . More complexity - more control over the vocals I like the T1® and the features it has for making the most of vocals. I would probably connect the microphones directly to the T1®, but that...Read More...

Extension cable for T1 Tone match

I used my L1 Model 2 with B2 bass module and tone match system last night for the first time at my karaoke show and happy to say I was blown away with the clarity and sound of the system. Compliments all night. The only complaint was that the system was too close to the singers and made it sound loud. My issue is that the cable from stand to module isn't quite long enough to reach my pc. Do they make a longer cable or can I purchase a coupler and another cable. Is this just a standard RJ45 ...Read More...

Sennheiser E935 ... too much feedback?

Hey team, I'm considering purchasing some Sennheiser E935s and wanted to see if anyone had experience running it through the L1 compact. I absolutely love this mic, but I've heard it can be a bit feedbacky. I understand its cardioid pattern is perhaps more extreme than other dynamic mics, but is it too much to use in proximity with the L1 positioned behind and off to the side of performers? Essentially, will it work well with the intended positioning of the BOSE compact L1? Thanks, ZRead More...
Hi Z, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. I'm sorry it's taken so long for you to get a reply. If you have the " L1 positioned behind and off to the side of performers" you're probably OK. Don't point the microphone at the speaker array. Here are some tips. Microphone Feedback Does that help? Loudness of the L1 Compact vs the L1 Model II

Hello All, This is a very roundabout question to help me determine if the L1 Compact will measure up. This is because I have been asked to gig on some river cruises and will have to carry the equipment by train onto the continent. As a soloist, I currently use an L1 Model II with Tonematch & B2 Sub-woofer, (Recently was using 2 B1 subs instead). The majority of my audiences don't require me to go highter than about halfway on the Tonematch Master. (Presets at a third as well as the...Read More...

Base Module sounds "muddy"

Hi Mike, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. I'm going to answer for Bose Support because it's the holiday weekend. You mentioned a T1®. The presets for acoustic guitar and vocal microphones already have processing to reduce low-end muddiness. There isn't a way to put a high pass shelf across the whole system, but there is a utility Preset that you can apply to individual channels. But if you use this, you miss out on the vocal microphone and acoustic guitar Presets.Read More...

Output on Tonematch for house PA

Hi there. I play a few venues that want me to go through their house PA. They have a 1/4" patch, what is my best option on the mixer to do this? Also, how can I control the output level? Thanks! MattRead More...
Hi Matt, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. I'm going to answer for Bose Support because it's the holiday weekend. It's easy to connect your T1® to a house PA. Run a 1/4 inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable to the house PA. This is a mono, balanced line-level output. It is controlled by the T1® Master Output. It's basically a sonic clone of what you hear through your L1® (if you are using your L1® in addition to running out to the house PA). If you don't have a 1/4 inch...Read More...

Power loss/falure

Hello, last night we played a very small venue and decided to use our L1 Model S1 tower with our B-2 base and Mackie 16 channel mixer. We have 3 58's for vocals, two acoustic guitars and one mic in the cajon. The sound was perfect as usual (we typically add our Model 2 to this). After about one hour the sound dropped off. We turned off the power at the base unit (the light was still on) and we re-ran the extension cords to another wall plug. Turned it back on and played for about another 45...Read More...
Hi Michael, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. I'm sorry you had a problem with your L1® Model 1S. You mentioned extension cords. Normally you want to use the shortest extension cord possible - if you have to use extension cords at all. What you've described could be a result of unreliable power and it sounds like you suspected that. Still, I think you should call Bose Support on Tuesday for help diagnosing this further. K&K Pure Mini with a T1?

Hello everyone! Hoping that someone can help guide me to finding a good setting with my T1 for my Goodall Grand Concert with a K&K pickup. I've gotten "okay" results with the overall "flat" setting, but it's far from sounding really good. If it helps any, my attack is medium-light (in general). I play with a hybrid style, using a flat pick and my remaining fingers (short nails). I play all different styles; some jazz standards, rock, blues, country... whatever I feel like playing! Hope...Read More...
Hi John, I guess that many users can't set up at home. I'm extremely lucky in having a detached house (brick walls in comparison to many dwellings in the USA and many other countries), a large living room (which also sounds really good for purely acoustic playing) and a very understanding wife who is also a musician and an integral part of my acoustic band. If we haven't played live with our acoustic trio for a while I can set up our gear in the living room for a few days so we can get the...Read More...
