I am thinking of buying a used L1M2B2 system. Other then the obvious blown speakers, sub, or cosmetics, are there other things I need to look out for? Speaking of speakers or drivers, how do I check the quality of the 24 speakers in the lower and upper column? Thanks to all for a great active forum.Read More...

S1 issue? Channel 2 substantially quieter than Channel 1

Hi everybody, I´m Bruno from Germany and just recently I bought a S1. I intend to use it as an universal "make-it-loud-unit" for my kemper, for my acoustic and microphone at house concerts and for streaming music via bluetooth and as a bass amp and... and. I have since 2 or 3 weeks and I´m very happy with it. Today I noticed that there is a significant volume difference between channel 1 and 2. If i put my Acoustic from channel 1 to 2 the signal drops quite strong (perhaps 6 to 9 db?).Read More...
Hi Bruno, Please let us know how it goes with Bose Support. In the meantime, if you don't mind - I'm curious. What do you run into your Kemper Profiling Amp? What kind of music are you performing? Thanks, STRead More...

Tyros 5 and S1 Pro system - buzz?

Forum: Keyboards
Hi Derek, I use the S1 pro with my tyros 5 keyboard. Great speaker but I do have a problem when I connect the Bose to the Tyros. If the bose volume is at 12 o clock I hear a buzz or hum in the speaker. I first had an unbalanced (TR) cable and then tried a balanced (TRS) cable but the buzz or hum remains. Do you have the same problem when connecting your L1 compact to the Tyros 5 ? Kind regards AlexRead More...
Thanks for the reaction. Do you use one or two cables from your tyros to the direct box ? kind regards AlexRead More...

recording from T8s to camcorder

Hi , I am new to this forum. Just bought L1 model II and T8S. This is for an Karaoke event where i am playing music thru channel 7/8 and have mics on channel 1-4 for singers. I would like to record the entire audio output from mixer (music + singers voice ) to Camcorder which is used to record this entire show. We are recording this way hoping to get the best audio audio quality instead of just recording using camcorder which would have audience noise etc. camcorder has 3.5mm jack. Pls help...Read More...
Hi Sri, What model camcorder do you have? As ST mentioned, it depends on what kind of input your camcorder audio input is expecting: mono, stereo, mic level, line level and if phantom power presence is present are all factors that should be known before connecting or you can end up with overdriven (distorted), insufficient, hissy or buzzy audio. If you don't have an onboard audio level meter on the camcorder, you'll want to do some test recordings to ensure audio meets expectations prior to...Read More...

Connecting External Speakers to L1 Model ll

I use the L1 Model ll with subwoofer to support a four-person band in small to medium-size venues, along with a Behringer non-powered mixer. Has worked fine. I'll shortly be playing a room with its own sound system. As I prefer "the devil I know", I was wondering if/how I can connect the house "mains" to the L1...using the house mains as additional external speakers. Possible? T8s Reverb issues - T8s Vocal quality

I bought the T8s new tonematch in October last year and even after applying the latest update am totally disapointed in the REVERB quality against the original T1 Tonematch. The version that I have on the T8s is v1.1.4. I have compared the Reverb on both the original T1 and the T8s using Plate - Medium set at 30% and 50% using Neuman KMS105 microphone. The Reverb quality is still not the same as the original T1 even after applying the update V1.1.4. The vocals quality is also much smoother...Read More...

Hi Mahesh, Okay, this sounds good. I was checking to see if there was anything odd in your setup that might cause problems. No cause for concern here. Instead of Tape Delay and reverb, try this for your vocals microphone : Digital Delay Time: 100 ms Mix: 15% - vary up to 30% Fdbk: 0% - vary up to 10% You should have better intelligibility and move the vocals out in front of the backing tracks. What do you hear? Do you like it? STRead More...

Digital or Anologue delay for vocals

No worries, @ScubaBadger Dave. Besides performing, I also do live sound engineering. Many vocalists bring their own microphones and effects, which sometimes can be an issue, vice a solution. I've seen solo acts where performers over use harmonizers and delay, to the point one can no longer hear the words being sung. Others use just a tasteful amount and sound nice.Read More...

Used the S1 around the campfire

This weekend we're attending at fiberglass travel trailer rally in Florida. There are close to 100 trailers here so maybe 150 to 200 people. Friday, after dinner, they have a big campfire and musicians will jam. At the last rally, I played to about 30 people, unamplified, outdoors. The temperature dropped and by the time it was over, my voice was shot. I am as looking for an excuse to buy an S1 pro, this put me over the edge. This weekend, we had 75 to 100 people at the campfire. I came...Read More...

Hi Dell, Thanks for joining the conversation. That's a handsome bit of engineering and ingenuity. Thanks for sharing that with us. Here's a reminder to the community. Bose does not recommend mounting anything to the L1® Cylindrical Radiator®, the L1® Compact, or the F1 Model 812 and F1 Subwoofer. The Wallacher hanger was developed for the original L1 Classic and has not been tested for use with later models. STRead More...

T4S and static?

I recently purchased a brand new T4S mixer and a L1 S1 system with a B1 sub! So far all is well and happy with sound quality, although I have not yet had the opportunity to test the system at a gig situation. I’m a guitarist/singer performer and do lots of karaoke gigs. The issue I am having has to do with static discharge anytime I touch the top metal part facade of the T4S mixer where the volume knobs are only but not the center part where the display screen is? It is annoying because the...Read More...

Wireless transmitter/receiver to use with two S1 pro speakers

Hi Harry Thanks for bringing this topic up. WIRELESS transmission. I play what we in Denmark call dinner music. Groups: up to 120 people. My setup is: Piano - Tone match4 - Compact L1 cabled - Wireless to second Compact L1. Currently I use a XVive U2 (which is made for instruments) between the first and second Compact L1. It works, but from time to time the quality is too poor because of too much electronic noise in the room I think. Wonder if anyone has any wireless transmission experience.Read More...

Aloha e @CityFolk , I use more of the inputs on the Behringer Xenix 1002B than most and take advantage of using active preamp DI boxes and effects to effectively maintain separate control of the microphone and instrument on a shared channel. I plug the u-bass into it's own channel, as it's the trickiest part of the mix. Using the active preamp and tube Blend control of a Behringer BDI21 and the British EQ of the Behringer Xenix 1002B I'm able to dial in a punchy bass that does not bottom out...Read More...
