Favorite F1 Pictures

Besides the great way the F1 System sounds I've always really liked the way it looks as well! Here are a couple of my favorite F1 pictures... please share some of your own!Read More...
This was during sound check on Saturday. We normally set up L1 Model II systems for concerts like this, but we had the F1 stacks in place so we used them instead. Great sound out front. @jdbassentertainment.com I got to try the Shure KSM9 microphone through the F1s. I agree with you, that's a nice microphone. If I needed another high-end microphone, it would be a contender for sure. STRead More...

T4S & T8S Mixers - 1/4 inch (6mm) Mounting Screw (Mounting Options)

Glad the mixers have been updated, but a couple of questions on them. Why a camera tripod mount? That seems odd to me. Can the T4S not mount to a mic stand? This also seems like they won't be able to mount on the L1s either. Also, I get that the L1 MII won't output enough power from the stand, but it should be able to connect digitally to them. Again, to me these all seem like odd exclusions/decisions. Hopefully one of the Bose folks will chime in with some answers.Read More...
I would love to mount this in a case, If you have done this, I would love to see a picture, My goal is to mount it in a case with two wireless mics, and a power distribution unit like a Furman. hoping you have some good examples. TIA.Read More...

L1 Model II Power stand failure

I really have loved this BOSE PA system. I've owned this since February 2011 - so almost 7 years exactly. About a month ago I heard some small crackling sounds that sounded like electrical interference of some kind. Today big crackling sounds and what sounds like the fan is starting and stopping. What are the best options to repair in the SF/Oakland Bay Area?Read More...

S1 Pro system with Guitar Amp Modellers

ST
Hi Everybody, When I heard about the S1 Pro system I was curious to know how it would perform with a guitar amp modeller. You may already know that my favourite rig for small electric guitar gigs is my Kemper Profiling Amp with an L1® Compact. For bigger rooms I use the L1® Model II. Yesterday I spent some quality time with the S1 Pro and these units Boss GT-1 Kemper Profiling Amp The Boss GT-1 is a great little unit I carry it in the car most of the time in case there's a chance to play an...Read More...
ST - just my 2 cents.. I don't use a modeler, but my Fender Super Champ FX serves the same purpose. I have lined it out into a Model 1 or a Compact for many years with perfect results. I recently tried it with the S1 and it sounded great - same sound and tone as the bigger boys, and with plenty of volume. I keep the Fender 10" speaker plugged in and on, but ALL the projection is from the Bose. The S1 is a workhorse! Best to all, MIKE O'Read More...

T4S ToneMatch Mixer Input 5/6

Would it work to connect to ipads with a split cable to input 5/6? and can it be routed to a channel? Or can usb input be used for one ipad and be routed to a channel ? Edited title to facilitate searches: Previously "Input 5/6 T4S"Read More...
I have selected channel 4 and turned that into a music channel, selecting DJ/playback>Low Volume Music. I have a cable taking the stereo feed hot channels to pin 2 on an xlr which now feed channel 4, so now I have volume pot control over music input. This is fine when used in conjunction with a radio mic as neither need phantom. I use a Shure Beta87A radio set for first mic. If I need a second I have a cable version of the same and this is where it goes wrong. When using the cable mic...Read More...

2 B1's vs 1 B2

Does 2 B1's = 1 B2 as far as the load and low end presence and projection? I have: L1 Model I w/2 B1s L1 Model II w/1 B1 -------- Using the Model I or II for 1 acoustic guitar and vocal (If there is a difference above) Model I or II w/1 B1 (Small acoustic room) Model I or II w/2 B1's (Outdoor patio venue) Model I or II w/1 B2 (Small wedding when also have to DJ) Model II w/1 B2 and Model I w/2 B1's (Large wedding when also have to DJ) Comments on usage? Note: I use a Fishman Loudbox Mini to...Read More...
Hi Jon-Nolan, I'm glad you're enjoying the B1s. Thanks for coming back to tell us how you're making out. Even though the total carry weight for two B1s is a little more than a B2, I find the B1s easier to manage in transit. For vocals with guitar, I find the B1s to be tighter (good) and more responsive than the B2, although the distinction is subtle. I prefer to work with the L1® behind me. It's a nicer experience for monitoring. But I understand, that doesn't work for everyone. You...Read More...

S1 Pro Busking Power Questions

Musicianthomas
My good news is that I have an S1 Pro & Battery on the way today!! The better news is that it is a gift! So I will definitely be taking it out, reviewing, and putting it through more than several situations outside, inside, small venue gigs, etc. My question has to do with busking power sources. I want to be able to use my Infinity Looper, TC Helicon Mic Looper, TC Helicon Chorus pedal, VoiceLive 3 Extreme, and The T1 Tonematch just as I do in my shows with the L1 Model 2 /B2 Module and...Read More...
No, I also purchased the S1Pro Battery and do not use it plugged into the Chafon power source. It stands alone. Plenty of juice in the S1Pro for just about any length gig you could imagine. What you need to do is figure how many watts total your effects will be pulling....that will give you the rating you need. If you will scroll to the beginning of this thread, you can see how ST and Tony really helped me with this. To me, it's worth the $$$ investment of both the Chafon and the additional...Read More...

What would be more accurate settings for Bose Tone match with Macbook pro and virtual dj software? Two possibilities: 1- with out a dj controller and 2-with dj controller. T1 with a di box?

Hi Taylorman, Thanks for coming back to let us know how you got on with the problem. Whatever works is good. I often have the feeling that many users are afraid to try out stuff in case they do something wrong. In most cases you can't really do anything wrong, and I would imagine that should anyone start a thread asking the question what acoustic players have in their signal chains in addition to a T1 that we would have a fair amount to read about. Depending on what instrument I use I have...Read More...

Just Received my S1 Pro

sparkysings
I'm a happy Bose user. I do 20+ solo gigs a month with acoustic guitar and vocals and use a Plat Acoustic for some vocal harmonies I'm in my 5th year and started off with the AER Compact 60 on a microphone stand and loved it. It sounded natural, clear and carried surprisingly well with lots of power. About 2 years in I had an opportunity to pick up a L1 Compact at a good price and started using that. I hated the preset and found it was really hard to dial in a good sound, so I had to use an...Read More...
I just completed my 2nd gig with the S1 running on battery power and it passed with flying colors. This is one nice sounding portable unit. Instrument channel has little to no volume

We have been using the L1 compact system for a year or so with great results. We are a three piece, two guitars and a piano. We have been running vocals panned hard right from the mixer into the microphone channel and the instruments panned hard left into the instrument channel. I have recently noticed that to achieve a nice balance the instrument channel has to be 25% hotter than the vocal/mic channel. Today the instrument channel went out almost completely. It still has sound but it is...Read More...
Ok, I contacted Bose support with no joy. Was told to try and clean to trim pot. As of now I get only distorted scratchy sound from the ‘instrument’ channel unless I press and hold pressure on the trim pot itself. Otherwise no sound from that channel unless it’s cranked to ‘ten’ and then it’s too loud to use. Question, can any one tell me how to access the inside of the bass unit to gain access to the trim pot? And has anyone else had the same problem and found a fix? I have had this L1...Read More...

Speaker Placement

DJ8X
One of the reasons I bought into the Bose F1 system was because I wanted to eliminate speaker stands. My options were Bose L models (which I don't like because I'm a bass junkie), or the RCF Evox models. I went with the F1 because I was able to eliminate speaker stands AND rival my QSC rig (2 k12s and 1 KW181). I have concerns now that the integrated stand will not get the speakers up high enough as I am accustomed to. I don't want to put my 812s on stands because that is taking a step...Read More...

S1 Pro System Hi Maxcarella, Thanks for the added information! The B2 changes the overall character of the low end. I think that's the biggest difference between what you hear now and what you remember with your first L1 Model II. It is so hard to compare memory of sounds even moments apart. It really depends on the live music (what kind) and the places where you perform (how big, how many people, what are they doing while you play)? Please tell us what you think of the S1 Pro when it...Read More...

Need Help Choosing the System That's Right for Me

Hi Everyone, I've finally made the decision to sell all my old gear and get a Bose L1. Here's what I need it for: I'm a children's performer and I'll be performing in various locations, but primarily school gyms. I perform mainly as a solo act and here's what I need to run through the system: -Acoustic guitar (w/ pickup) -Shure Headworn Mic -Digital Piano -MP3 player or laptop for backing tracks (These are literally mixes of my songs with the lead vocals taken out. There will be lots of...Read More...
Hi Rylan, Thanks for the added information. You'll need an L1® Model II with a B2 Bass Module and a ToneMatch mixer for these settings. The L1® Model II has a horizontal dispersion of about 180 degrees, and vertical is limited to the area in front of the 8 foot Cylindrical Radiator® (very little horizontal dispersion). That latter is great for taming reverberation in large rooms. You can replace everything with the L1 system I mentioned above. You'll want a guitar amp modeller to replace the...Read More...

F1 Amazing Sound, Small Footprint

jdbassentertainment.com
I recently had the pleasure of providing sound and lights for a five piece band that filled the stage! They took up 22 inputs on my board. They were an REO Speenwagon Tribute group. The venue was a local casino event hall that has a seating capacity of around 400. The F1 System I used at this show was two 812 tops & two F1 subs. I used the integrated stand and had them 25 feet apart on either side of the stage. The venue and band were both very happy with the sound and we got lots of...Read More...
I took my 2 F1 Systems out for a spin last night. It was a corporate function downtown Chicago. The attendance was roughly 370 people. The 2 systems covered this quite well. There were maybe up to 100 in the dancing area while the rest were spread out throughout the room. Interesting thing is, I still had more volume to give them but didn't need it.Read More...

L1 Model 2 fault red LED, cuts out for a sec

Hi, new to forums. I have an L1 Model 2 with Tonematch bought about 4-5 years ago. Light use in home setting. L1 is turning off, coming back on. Red LED light, fan tries to turn on then off and goes back to Blue LED in a matter of a second or two. I troubleshot the B1 cable, took off speaker array, unplugged all cables but power.
