What would be the ideal Bose system to fill an acoustically treated live room studio with no amps. We’ll run 2 guitars, 1 bass, Mic’d Drums, 1 keyboard, 2/3 vocal mics directly to the Bose PA System with a Mixer.

I want a nice balanced mix and I think Bose is the way to go

The room measures 600 sq ft and it’s 11 ft high

Luis,

Currently I have a Bose L1 Model 2 with a B1 bass and a T8S mixer. My studio is approximately 250 sq ft, so take my input with a grain of salt. I’m hoping that this is a single data point that might be somewhat helpful.

I’m getting good clarity and volume in the studio with no feedback and have played gigs for up to 500 people with good results. (2 vocalists, bass, 2 electric/acoustic guitars and separate harmonizer channel). We’ve also played for  ~150-person audiences outdoors. A couple of issues that might be worth considering : 1.) Electric guitars — my current band doesn’t feature any, but if we did, I’m not sure I’d be happy if I had to plug directly into a mixer, even for rehearsal (okay, I’m sure I wouldn’t be happy); 2.) Drums — I’m not certain whether you’ll really need to mic the drums in your studio. My former band was in a larger space than yours, and the drums were plenty loud without mics. Playing gigs, of course, is a whole different story. 3.) A single speaker column might not satisfy all of your bandmates, and locating it to give everyone what they want would likely be pretty tough

I’m hoping others will weigh in. There are lots of folks playing with multiple L1s with B2 bass modules, and that might be more appropriate for your needs.

I’m happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

Good luck!

Tom B.

What are the dimensions of the room? (e.g, 25'x24, 20'x30' or 15'x40')

Will you set up on the long wall or the short wall?

Are the guitars electric or acoustic?

Hi. I have a 600 sq ft live room for my band. We rehearse and record in there. I was wondering. Would we be able to pull it off by just running all the instruments through 2 F1 Model 812 + 2 F1 Power Subs with just preamps / pedals and get rid of the combo amps? We use 2 guitars, 1 bass, and digital piano + vocals. Drums are player acoustically

Please tell us about your live shows. Where do you perform and what kind of music are you playing?
