Dear L1 Community:

Last January at the NAMM show in Los Angeles, Eve-at-Bose and I interviewed a number of industry leaders who worked on ToneMatch™ presets with us for their microphones and instruments.

The interviews were fascinating and informative.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be making these interviews available in chapterized form on the L1 wiki.

Here is a list of the individuals and their companies. Hyperlinked text below means the videos are finished and can be viewed.

In addition to interviews with these partners, I sat for an interview. You can watch that by clicking on the link below.

Hi Folks,

I'm pleased to announce that we've just added a wonderful interview with Lloyd Baggs, founder and owner of L.R. Baggs Inc., one of the world's pre-eminent makers of fine instrument pickups.

You can watch these four short chapters by clicking here .

Here's a link to all the Tonematch partner videos.

Hi Everyone,

I'm very pleased to announce the availability of the interview with Brian Swerdfeger, director of product marketing and one of the product specialists at Taylor Guitar.

He is part of the product development group that has produced the Taylor Expression system, the award-winning Taylor T5 and their first solid body electric.

Here's a link to the interviews on the L1 Wiki.
Hi Folks,

We've just added a super interesting interview with the great Ned Steinberger to the wiki.

You can watch it by clicking on the link at the bottom of this post called "Interviews with ToneMatch partners".

Or just click here to be taken directly to the Ned page of the wiki.

As always, we're very interested in your views on anything Ned has to say.

With best regards,

Ken -

Thanks for Ned's interview series. I have one of Ned's creations, the WAV4 EUB. It's a new member of my music family and I use it with the L1 Classic system and a T1. I must say, I certainly appreciate the NS-Design presets in the T1! They do allow for a quick and easy way to taylor your sounds with an electric instrument.

Since I am a relatively new "electric" musician, I can't comment a lot about the flexiblity that e-musicians like to have, as referenced in Ned's interview. But, coming from the acoustic side of the family, I can honestly say I still love the acoustic sounds of my upright bass and enjoy them each time I play it. To get something close to the sound of my acoustic upright, with my WAV4, is a pretty awesome thing in my mind. I truly love playing it and dialing in "my sound" with the T1. Will it ever replace my old acoustic upright??? I doubt it...but who knows what the next generation of amplification and "electric" instruments will bring. If someone ever re-creates that real "woody" sound with an "electric" instrument....oh boy....I'm there!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for this interview of with Ned Steinberger.

Like John (above) I have one of Ned's creations and although nearly 20 years old now, it is still a stunning testament to design and innovation. I have seen several interviews with Ned and I have enjoyed his matter of fact way of approaching things in unconventional ways.

This latest interview that you posted is among the very best.

Thank you.

To all - Ned Steinberger Interview.
Hi steview22,

I just checked and the videos are working here. Please note - you must have Flash installed to view them.

Can you try using a different browser or device?

EDIT - I just noticed that in one of your earlier posts you inquired about using an iPad with the T1®. The iPad doesn't support Flash, so I don't think that you'll be able to view the videos on an iPad. Please try a device that supports Flash.
