Using Mackie SRM 150 w/ Tonematch i as personal monitor

Need to be sure how to do this now!

There are a couple of approaches to this.

If you are connecting T1 or T4S ToneMatch mixer to an L1 Model 1S or L1 Model II using the ToneMatch port, you can connect one of the analog outputs to the Mackie.

T1 Master Output

T4S Main Outputs

If you are already using the main outputs then you can set up an Aux mix and connect an Aux output to the Mackie.

You may approach this differently if you have a T8S.

What ToneMatch mixer do you have (T1, T4S, T8S)?

What else are you connecting to the ToneMatch mixer outputs (S1 Pro, L1 (what model), or something else)?

@Gloria ST's instructions (as always) are the best. I just wanted to add that until I got my S1, I used to practice using a Mackie SRM150. It sounded so much  better once I went through the T1 to the SRM150 (sold the SRM150 when I got my S1). For a solo performer it was a great practice setup. I used the same settings that I have saved on the T1 for my L1 when I connected to the SRM150. It was a neat little amp.

Hi Gloria,

The inputs on the Mackie SRM 150 are combo jacks (that accept  1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve or XLR inputs).

Plug in Anything

The T4S outputs are 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve at line level.

You can use cables like this:

 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve

This kind of cable will provide a better match between the T4S output level and the input sensitivity of the Mackie SRM 150 than 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to XLR

I want to thank everyone for the quick responses. I ended up not using the SRM150 monitor for that gig but will try again today. If it is a simple 1/4" analog into mono 1 on T4S to 1/4" into the Main in on the back of the SRM150, then perhaps I will have success today. If that can be clarified, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

That should work.

T4S right output to Mackie channels 1 or 2 using a 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable.

You can uses a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Sleeve cable but you'll be more likely to pick up line noise. That's probably not an issue if the cable is less than 20 feet.

Hi Gloria,

Sure, pictures would help. Please give us your entire signal chain - everything that's connected to everything else with links to the owners manuals for non-Bose equipment.

Thanks,

ST
