Hi Derek,

I use the S1 pro with my tyros 5 keyboard. Great speaker but I do have a problem when I connect the Bose to the Tyros. If the bose volume is at 12 o clock I hear a buzz or hum in the speaker. I first had an unbalanced (TR) cable and then tried a balanced (TRS) cable but the buzz or hum remains. Do you have the same problem when connecting your L1 compact to the Tyros 5 ?

Kind regards

Alex

Direct Box. I had just bought a brand new Yamaha Tyros 5 (Love it!) and a brand new Bose L1 model 1 with b2 base (Love it!) But when I hooked them together... buzz. I tried new balanced cables, noise suppressors,  etc etc.

Then I hooked Tyros 5 to Roland KB500, no buzz. And to a Makie Freeplay, no buzz.

I connected Bose to the Tyros 5 through a "direct box"... noise free!

Hi Holy Jalapeno and ST,

That’s good news. A few questions however :

Do you use one (L/L+R) or two balanced cables (L and R) from the Tyros 5 to the direct box ?

Do you notice a difference in sound quality when using the direct box ?

If the direct box solves the problem I would probably buy a second S1 pro (because of the stereo sampled sounds in the Tyros). I suppose there is no problem connecting two S1 pros to the direct box ?

Kind regards

Alex

I only have one direct box so I only use one. I see no drop in quality. I love the clear crisp sound from the Bose L1. Nothing but complements from my kids that can hear the higher frequencies better than me. I recommend using two direct boxes and enjoy the stereo sound from the Tyros 5 and 2 Bose S1 pro..¸.•*¨*•♫♪
