I'd encourage you to keep your firmware current. We tweak things and sometimes add features.

If you have *any* trouble with the update process, you can always call Bose Support and they will walk you through it.

Hi Squid,

I'm sorry about the disconcerting message. It sounds like you're seeing the message I mention at 4:20 in the video.

Please turn off the ToneMatch mixer. Turn it back on. If you don't still have the USB cable connected, connect it again.

Then open the L1 Updater software on the computer.

It should show you have the latest firmware.

Hey guys,

Just got my T8s today and have been trying to update firmware.  My current version says V1.0.1    It's confusing because is this the correct V1.0.10 without the last 0??  I've followed all the steps shown here and online (many times) and my Tonematch just says "Update in Progress DO NOT DISCONNECT"  But after 30 minutes nothing changes and I have to disconnect.  Any input would be appreciated! Thanks.  T

I'm sorry you are having a problem with updating the firmware in your T8S. Let's double check something.

  • Please turn the power off and back on, on your T8S. Then:
  • Turn the Rotary Selector to Prefs
  • Scroll through the menu to Versions
  • Press the menu button.

What version does it say?

If it is still 1.0.1  - please try again with a different USB cable connected directly to the computer and the T8S (not through a hub).

When I call Bose at 877-335 2673, I have to try multiple times to even get someone halfway knowledgable about this subject. Big problems with T4S doing this a couple weeks ago with them. Now I'm going through the same thing with Bose for the T8S so far with an hour back and forth on hold while they consult with someone who MIGHT know something. They just don't seem to know much about this subject. A few years ago there was great knowledgable support there--not any more.

How do you actually download the latest Firmware update v1.1.0 for the T4S?

This proces should not be this complicated or time consuming.

For the record, both my Tonematch T4S's have DSP Firmware 1.8, Bose Presets 1.1 and Bose Scenes 1.0.

My T8S has v1.1.0

 

 

 

Spoke too soon.  It would appear the T4_Update-master-v1.1.0-12f79c9.bos file down loaded, and now resides in the same folder as the L1-Updater-version_1.1.exe file. 

However, when I try to update the T1 Firmware DSP in the updater, it says the selected file is not compatible. 

 

Using both Chrome and Firefox.

I have zipped the file (see attachments below). Please download and expand these files into the same folder as the L1 Updater. Then run the updater and update the firmware.

I have just used the same file to update my T4S here.

I have the file you zipped to me.

When I open the L1 updater, after plugging into the T4s, the first item on the list is T1 Firmware DSP 1.8, followed by a series of T1 titles.  There is no reference to T4S anywhere, just T1.

When I attempt to update, it immediately says the selected file is not compatible. Please select a compatible file. 

I have countless units that periodically require firmware updates. None are as brain damaging as this.

Does the screen on your T4S have a blue background or a black background?

What version level is your ToneMatch® Mixer? 

  1. Turn the Rotary Selector to Prefs


  2. Press the first button


  3. Turn the first button until you see Versions
  4. Press the button


  5. The versions for the firmware will be displayed. The versions shown below are sample values.

I got my t8 with version v101 .   Looking for v110

unable to do it. I download the update tool app  and   v110  ,  but in  the update box still show version v101    SEE PICTURE  1    

And after I click on the update box no file is available to transfer to the t8 SEE PICTURE  2           <<<<<ANY HELP WILL BE NICE >>>>>        T8-1T8-2

You missed the step in the video where you put all the files in the same folder.

You need to put the *.bos file from this page
http://bosepromktg.com/ToneMatch_Mixer_Firmware/T8/

into the same folder as the L1 Updater program.

I just went through the steps on my machine. I created a folder called Bose and put the L1 Updater program and the *.bos file into it like this.

When I run the L1 Updater and click Update

and you should see

T8S Firmware Update 2

The update will start.



When the process is complete, there will be an error message

Click Cancel and the L1 Updater program will exit.

If you see this message, click OK

Important - Please read the following and reset the T8S to bring all your settings up to date.

T4S/T8S Factory Reset

If you have any difficulty completing these steps, please call Bose Support.
