Discussions about the Bose S1 Pro system

Bose S1 Pro

Designed for musicians, DJs and general PA use, the S1 Pro is the ultimate all-in-one PA, floor monitor and practice amplifier that's ready to be your go-anywhere Bluetooth music system for nearly any occasion.

This is the place to discuss the S1 Pro system.

Shure SM48 or Shure SM58 for use with the S1 Pro system?

Hi Talismic,

Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community.  Welcome.

Shure has a very brief article.

SM58 and SM48 Comparison

On the right side of the article you'll find links to details about each microphone.

Please tell us how you are using your S1 Pro system. It sounds like you are using one channel for vocals. Are you using the other for an instrument (guitar?). Are you using Bluetooth or the Aux input for backing tracks?

How large are the places where you perform?

What styles of music are you performing.

Thanks,

ST

Hi ST,

Thanks for those details . Currently i bought it for small home settings, so typically less than 50 people or so. Also, getting kids into the mix of trying to get used to the mic's and performing, so more a home use kind of a thing right now. Using the system for basically Indian classical or bollywood like music. I might use both channels for vocal and then have a track played on bluetooth/Aux.

Thanks.

T

If you don't have a issue spending a little more get a Beta 58a it sounds better has less issues with feedback and it is a little hotter output... this will give you a little more volume if you are plugging into the S1 Pro directly.

I realize this doesn't answer your original question, but I always like pointing fellow Bose users in a good direction.

I'll second that. If you are changing, the Beta 58a sounds awesome with the S1Pro

Quick Update, I bought the Beta 58A and the sound is so much better with the S1 Pro, the SM58 seemed similar sounding to the SM48 to me at least , in a crowded environment, and the beta 58A stood out much better. Just wanted to update you guys on where I ended up. Also the sound coming from the 58A also seems so much better to my ears.

I've been using my SM58 with my S1 and like the sound. The other evening I pulled out my Beta 58a and tried it with the S1 - woo hoo - what a difference!! I was delightfully surprised at how  much better it sounded with the S1.

Will use the Beta 58a for my (nearly 92 year old) Dad to sing at his Carol Service while I use the SM58 for myself. And instead of my L1M2, I'll be using the S1 Pro on a stand.

@Talismic Good choice with the Beta 58a.
