I haven't really begun to dig into this but I'm posting in the hope that someone else has had a similar experience and might say "oh yeah, it's this…"

I frequently use my S1 as a personal monitor at low volume acoustic solo gigs. I am plugged into it from the output of a ToneMatch mixer. Not red-lining the S1 channel at all.

Finished a set, came back from my break last and the power light is off. Thought maybe someone bumped the switch but it was in the on position. The unit was a little bit warm so it hadn't been off that long. Turned it on and off, nothing. Completely dead. I was inside with air-conditioning so I doubt it's thermal. Tried with a different power cord and again this morning at home. Nothing. No battery installed. I own one but have never used it. I've only had this unit for 6 months and never abused it.

I know Bose doesn't typically like us opening up their stuff but could there be a fuse inside?

Any ideas?

Try unplugging and taking the battery out of the bottom of the Bose S1 Pro for 15 minutes. Then plug the Bose S1 Pro without the battery and turn it on to see if it works.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've never had the battery in it though. 🙁

Hi Rob,

did you try to put the battery in and see if the S1 powers on? It would be helpful to know if it is a failure of the power supply. In that case we have a chance to finish a gig if we keep our batteries fully loaded before we go out.

This in advantage in comparison to non battery powered speakers. Power supplies fail from time to time, that is why mixing consoles often have two of them.

Hi Rob,

I also have over here in Belgium a bose pro S1 which is 'dead'.Even without using the battery, the speaker doesn't function anymore. Did you have to send your speaker back to Bose or was there a solution that you could do yourself to repair the s1 ?
