Just received my S1 and immediately did a gig using it as monitor added to my L1c and my F1 as main outs. The sound for its size is truly wonderful and the feature set is terrific but on my very first use I accidentally stepped on the cable coming from the output jack going to my L1c and it broke off the jack inside of the unit. Since the unit is called an S1 Pro, it really should be more rugged than that, as most musicians performing live at some point in time step on cables. I have been performing for more than thirty years and have never had an output jack fail like this. Prior to these new Bose systems I had been using JBL Eons with 15" woofers, which I retired after purchasing the Bose systems for two reasons. The Bose is smaller/lighter easier to set up and the high frequency drivers sound way more natural than the horns in the EONs. Perhaps a better grade of plastic or metal would help or a better angle to cause the cable to pull out. Apart from this the product really sounded great for voice, guitar and keyboard as a monitor and having the internal reverb really helps a lot.
A nice fringe benefit is because of using the same or similar twiddlers as the L1 and F1, the sound was nicely spectrally matched. But for a product to be called pro it does have to be robust enough to not break the first time out.
