L1 Model II

Let's talk about the L1® Portable Line Array Systems

Using proprietary Bose® technology, L1 systems combine  PA and monitors into a single, highly portable unit. The  loudspeaker can be positioned behind or to the side —and you hear what the audience hears.

Highly portable PA and monitor combined for solo performers, DJs and general-purpose use. Fixed vertical control with 180° horizontal coverage Reduced vulnerability to feedback.

Three systems to choose from (Compact, Model 1S, Model II)
Two passive bass module options (B1 or B2)
Consistent coverage and tonal balance, portability and easy setup.

I am trying to upgrade my L1 Model 2 firmware from 1.1 to 1.4.

I have downloaded the 1.4 firmware and the updater software.

My T1 firmware upgraded to 1.8 with no issues.

When the updater is onscreen the PS11 System EQ: 1.0  Update is displayed

But the PS 11 Firmware: 1.1 Update line is not on the page.

Trying to scroll down the page with no effect. Can someone help please!

Hi Geordie,

Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community.

Do you have a B2 Bass module? If not, then you don't need to update the firmware in your L1 Model II Power Stand.

For full instructions on how to do the update - please see: L1 Model II Firmware Updates

If that doesn't help, please give us a screenshot of what you see when using the ToneMatch Updater Software.

Hi Geordie,

Do you have a B2 bass module? If you don't then you don't need to update the L1 Model II System EQ and Firmware.

If you do have a B2 bass module, let's continue.

Thanks for the screen shot.

It looks like you may have the screen magnification set fairly high.

On a blank area of your Windows desktop

  • Right Click
  • Click Display Settings
  • Scroll down to Scale and Layout
  • Choose a lower setting (mine happens to say 200%), but experiment with this on your end.  Set it to something lower than the current setting.
  • Start up the ToneMatch Updater Application

Can you see more settings now?

If that doesn't help

  • Go to Display Settings (as above)

  • Set the Scale and layout value back to what it was before
  • Set the Resolution higher
  • Start up the ToneMatch Updater Application
  • Can you see more settings now?

Can you see more settings now?

Be sure to put the settings back they way they were after you do the update.

Sorry to be a pain!!

My room looks like a computer grave yard.

I have tried my Win10 Laptop, Win10 Desktop - No joy

I have tried all the different resolution settings and all the magnification settings to no avail.

Also tried an old xp pRO machine but an error saying not a valid 32 bit program.

I have downloaded the installer three times all with same result.

Have you any other ideas?

Hi Geordie,

In case you have a B2 bass module here's a link to the previous version of software

PC ToneMatch® Updater Software application for PC

Functionally, it's the same as the new version which has greater compatibility with Apple products.  The Apple aspect won't matter for you since you are running Windows.

The link is to a .zip file. You'll need to put the .exe file in the same folder as the *.bos files for the updates. L1® Model II Power Stand Firmware v 1.4

Be sure to read the installation instructions before running the updates.
