L1 Model II

Let's talk about the L1® Portable Line Array Systems

Using proprietary Bose® technology, L1 systems combine  PA and monitors into a single, highly portable unit. The  loudspeaker can be positioned behind or to the side —and you hear what the audience hears.

Highly portable PA and monitor combined for solo performers, DJs and general-purpose use. Fixed vertical control with 180° horizontal coverage Reduced vulnerability to feedback.

Three systems to choose from (Compact, Model 1S, Model II)
Two passive bass module options (B1 or B2)
Consistent coverage and tonal balance, portability and easy setup.

Guys, I recently bought my L1 Model 2 with B2. I also bought Presonus StudioLive AR12 mixer but still waiting to receive it. I am debating whether to return this and just get a T4S as it is optimized for Bose L1. Any suggestions on whether I should do this? I don't see any single mono output from Presonus but it does have L and R Master XLR out. I am afraid that if I just use L-XLR to 1/2" on Bose Analog Input, I would lose sound quality. Is this true? What cable should I use to connect to Bose L1 Power base?

Thanks, I think I am sold on the tonematch....Would lose bunch of additional input that I would get with Presonus and the bluetooth link. I was also looking at T8S which is availabe for $764 instead of $899 but does not have a tonematch cable? I guess you would need to buy it separately. I guess my question is if I purchase a tonematch cable and connect to L1 model 2 would it also send digital audio through it like T4S?

I have been using a Presonus StudioLive AR8 with an L1 compact. Its a nice unit but I noticed that my Takamine 2000 Ltd Edition with Cool Tube 2 preamp and Triax sounded better straight into the L1 with the Tonematch on.  So last week I bought a T4s.  The AR8 is now on eBay.

You would pan all inputs to one side (e.g., Right), then use an XLR to 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable and connect to Model II Power Stand  Analog Input.

There's no reason to think you'd lose sound quality.

The T8S does not use a ToneMatch cable to connect to the Model II Power Stand. The T8S comes with a ToneMatch Power Supply. See: T8S no ToneMatch port connection to L1®

You can pan all you inputs to one side (e.g., Right) and then use one of the Right Outputs and connect to the Model II Power Stand Analog Input.

The T8S has both XLR and 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve balanced outputs (Left and Right).

You can use a

XLR to 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve  cable

OR

1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to 1/4 inch (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable

San Creative, I believe there is a firmware update available now for the T4S that provides some enhancements to its reverb settings (among other things). ST can chime in, but I bet he would recommend installing the update as soon as you’re able. It’s not that the reverb was inoperative, the quality of the sound wasn’t what folks liked when compared to its T1 predecessor. Enjoy and let us know what you think.
