Discussions about the Bose S1 Pro system

Bose S1 Pro

Designed for musicians, DJs and general PA use, the S1 Pro is the ultimate all-in-one PA, floor monitor and practice amplifier that's ready to be your go-anywhere Bluetooth music system for nearly any occasion.

This is the place to discuss the S1 Pro system.

Absolutely Jeff, I just used the Behringer as one example. I’m sure there are tons of others.

I never had seen something like it and thought It was a cool idea. The Behringer was the first item that came to mind.

I don’t like the idea of having to plug or unplug a unit just to turn it off or on.

Yeah, I'd thought about opening it up and seeing if there's room to put in one of these:

But there's also this option, which goes between the equipment power connection and the IEC power cable. I'd like to find one that can actually replace the power cable, i.e. has the NEMA 3 prong plug on the end instead of just being an extender:

CableCC 30cm IEC 320 Mains Power C14 to C13 Male to Female Extension Cord Cable with Switch

The important thing in ANY of these solutions is to be sure they are UL listed so you know they're safe to use.

Jeff

Jeff makes some great points. I looked at the reviews on Amazon US of the item I posted and saw a lot of negative reactions. So buyer beware.

My main thought was just to show that something like this exists and I could see it’s usefulness right away.

So do your research and like Jeff suggests make sure they are properly certified. There are other alternatives such as this one on Amazon US that got better reviews and is “ETL” certified. Whatever that means. However, additional  research is always warranted.

For less-portable settings like the studio or at home, you can use a Smart Plug.

These smart plugs can be voice-controlled through Alexa or Google and most have a manual switch as well. Notice the switch on side of the unit above.

I have several of these in my studio space controlling power going to L1 systems, a rack unit full of gear, as well as the usual lights and other amusements.

Here are some more examples
