Dear Message Board Community:

On behalf of the community of L1 Cylindrical Radiator loudspeaker owners, and the Bose Live Music Technology Group, you are invited to the second ever L1 Owners Conference, to be held October 29-31, 2006.

Modeled after the incredibly successful meeting in Big Sur CA this past April, this unique three day experience in beautiful New England will focus on better live music through the use of L1 technology. (Click HERE to learn more about the Big Sur event.)

It will bring together a pioneering community that’s making a real difference in the quality of amplified live music. You’ll meet other artist owners and a number of the technical and musical experts from Bose.

We're making special arrangements to stay in a beautiful and rustic location during one of the most beautiful times of year in New England. More details on the accommodations will follow in this thread in the coming days and weeks.

The location of the conference will be within a 90 minute drive of Boston and will be accessible from three major airports: Boston, Providence (RI), and Manchester (NH).

The meeting will commence on Sunday evening October 29th and will conclude on the afternoon of the Tuesday the 31st. A more detailed agenda and information on how to register for the conference will be published here in the coming days.

In order to retain the intimacy and fellowship of the Big Sur meeting, the total number of attendees will be limited, so please register early to guarantee a spot. We are expecting to be sold out.

Attending from Bose will be (in alphabetical order):

Hello Everyone,

I'm very pleased to announce the venue for our L1™ Musicians Conference to be held October 29-31.

We've made excellent arrangements with the Warren Conference Center & Inn in Ashland, MA. (directions)

The Inn is close to Bose headquarters, allowing us to spend some time showing you our home, something many of you requested. I also wanted to take advantage of the fact that Dr. Bose would like to speak to you all (a true honor).

The Warren Center is on a beautiful rustic site of rolling hills with fields and forests, and borders a large and protected reservoir. From your doorstep you can set off on a 3 1/2 mile hike around the reservoir and never see a house or road or car. The Inn itself is nestled on the edge of forest near the reservoir, far from any roads. It is tranquil and peaceful.

There's a large dining hall built in a post-and-beam barnlike architecture that the Warren Center has given to us to use as our main room for music and lectures. Other generous rooms are available to us for breakout sessions if that's what we decide to do.

There are two excellent options for accomodations.

- The Inn has very high quality hotel-style rooms, each with a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. The Inn is small and intimate. These rooms are $125-155/night.

- There's also cabins that sleep eight people each in twin beds (no bunks). Beds are separated by privacy barriers. The cabins are clean and rustic with two showers and two bath rooms. There are very nice common rooms in each cabin with working fireplaces. Accomodations in the cabins are only $55/night.

Regardless of which option you choose, most of your food will be paid for by Bose. The executive chef at the Warren Center is excellent and the style is buffet. The chef is also a rabid musician (electric guitar) with a serious working band.

There's a generous lobby in the Inn with an excellent Kawai baby grand. This lobby is available to us and we'll be there for a reception on Sunday night.

I have stayed at the Inn on a number of occasions for work and I have always loved it. The comfort combined with the seclusion (without being far from home) has always been magical for me. I hope you will say the same thing after the conference.

I must stress that we have a limited number of the Inn-style rooms. Some have a single queen-sized bed ($125) and others have two queen-sized beds ($155).

If you have questions about the Warren Center or the conference, click here to ask it.

If you want to let us know on this Message Board that you'll be attending, do so here.

IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, YOU MUST CALL THE WARREN CENTER TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS: 1-888-WARREN1 (1-888-927-7361).

Rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

More details will be provided as they become available.

We very much hope to see you there.

With best regards,

Ken Jacob
Chief Engineer
