Correct hook up - T8S with QSC touch mix 16

Hi there

Prior to purchasing the TS8 I was hooking my QSC touch mix 16 to a T1 through channels 4/5

because I still want to use Bluetooth wireless audio and control it remotely I still need to incorporate the TM16

so I have been going into channels 7/8 of the TS8 to the mains of the QSC

what I have notice is there is a bad signal to noise ratio type sound when the analog trim is turned anywhere past 9 o’clock on the L1 model 2

i re hooked up the TS1 to the QSC as I had been doing previously and no noise problems at all

just checking I have things properly hooked up with the TS8/ QSC and there isn’t something else I should be doing?

many thanks!🙏

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

It's sounds like everything is working as expected. You should set the L1 Model II Analog Input trim between 9:00-11:00 o'clock. I get great results around 9:00-10:00 o'clock without excessive noise.

Connecting the T8S to the L1 Model II

  • Use a balanced cable
    • 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve
         OR
    • XLR to 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve
  • Set the L1 Model II Analog Input trim around 9:00-11:00 o'clock.
  • On the T8S mute all unused channels

Thanks ST

the Bose community is second to none re communication & care factor

there does seem to be some about going into the Analog input that is more noisy than say the 4/5 channel of the T1 for such purposes

back when I first got the T1 L1 model 2 and was wanting to hook up the QSC TouchMix with the Bose you suggested 2 ways to do it and 4/5 was free of noise in that situation in comparison to the analog input hookup

thanks very much for your help & verifiying 👍👍
