I have a Bose T4S ToneMatch Mixer, connected to a Bose L1 Model II. I would also like to connect a Carvin XP1000L powered mixer to that setup. This would give me more mic/instrument input lines than the 4 provided on the T4S. Here is a link to the Carvin's users manual: chrome-extension://oemmndcbldb...000l-letter_size.pdf

Thanks for including the link to the users manual

How can I connect this Carvin mixer to the Bose system?  Thank you

First: DO NOT CONNECT the Carvin speaker outputs to your Bose equipment. You may damage the Bose gear or the Carvin amp, or both.

Next, double-check with Carvin to confirm that it's okay to run the Carvin XP1000L Powered Mixer without speakers attached to the SPEAKER OUTPUTS.

Then, you have a couple of choices.

  • Pan all the Carvin inputs hard LEFT and use the Carvin MAIL L Output to send the signal to the L1 Model II Power Stand
    • Use a balanced cable
      1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve
    • Please see Stereo Mixer to Mono L1® for more information

      OR
  • Connect the Carvin MAIN L and MAIN R to T4S Aux inputs (5/6)

    • Use balanced cables
      1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve to 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve
    • Here is more information about the

      T4S Aux Outputs

All set?

Yes, thanks very much for your explanations and screen shots. I did get confirmation from Carvin support that their particular mixer referenced above can be used as a mixer only, without speakers connected to the output. Thanks again, love your Bose T4S and L1 Model II products!

Terrific.

Thanks for coming back to tell us this all made sense. Have you tried it yet?

Yes, I used the first option above (pan all Carvin ouputs hard left and connected Carvin Main L output to the Analog Output port on the Bose L1 Model II base, using  1/4" TRS balanced  patch cable). Everything works just fine

That's great.

Thanks for coming back to tell us.
