Everything is on the table. This is your chance to tell us what you like about the way things are done now and to tell us what you'd like to see added or changed.

Thank you!

Hi Admin,

I'm basically pretty happy with the way things are run on the forum. If I could change something it would be what's happening right now, and that's the way the software deals with forum-wide announcements. Every single slot on the General Forums Page has the same message. It happened when the F1 series was introduced and I had a discussion with Admin in the " Are the L1 users being bombed out?" thread. It was seeing that every thread had the same heading that lead to this misunderstanding on my part. It could also be confusing for any new visitors who only see this one message spread across the complete forum.

Now to my one wish:

In such cases, would it be possible to maybe insert a page/mask right at the beginning when we visit the forum informing us of any major changes with a link to the relevant thread? We could then maybe just click through it to get through to the forum. It could then be removed when no longer relevant. This way the forum would not be affected in such a massive way as it is right now.

Here's a link to the conversation I had with Admin at that time:

How the forum reacts to forum-wide announcements

Sorry for the long post and thanks for a great forum,

Tony

PS: I've just reread the old thread, and what was mentioned there:

quote:
This is so that people who jump straight to a particular forum out of habit or bookmarks will see that announcement even if they don't come through the main access portal.

Maybe it won't be as easy to deal with this as I thought, but if I don't mention it, it won't even be considered.

Thanks again,

Tony

I thought about you and our previous conversation about this before creating this system wide announcement. You're right, this is an issue with the platform we are on now. It's ugly and I was concerned that this would bother you and others.

Please appreciate that we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to see this announcement.

To all!
It is very important that you have the correct email address in your profile before we migrate the data. That way all your contributions will continue to be connected to you once we get to the new environment.

Please see the lead post in this discussion for instructions on how to check / change your email address.

Thank you.

Two very different beasts imo.
Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion. In the early days of the F1, most of the conversation about F1 was applicable to everyone.

It was important (at the time) to have one place where we could all talk about F1 sharing the excitement, announcements, common questions, and concerns.

The distinctions based on how people using their F1s (live bands and DJs) have become more apparent over time.

It should be easier to split things out once we get to the new platform. We'll take a hard look at how to better serve you (multiple audiences) when we have the tools to move things around.

Thank you.

How would you handle the different product families (L1 and F1)?

ST
L1 Model II --> Bands using them behind, DJs/KJs, solo/duo artist, Tech support (ask Bose)

L1 Model 1s same as the Model II

L1 Compact---> Solo/duo, DJ/KJs, Tech Support (ask Bose)

F1 ----> Bands (mixing from stage), FOH Sound Engineers, DJs/KJs, Tech Support (ask Bose).

Maybe add a General questions area to each section, but maybe not because those other random questions can go into the Tech Support (ask Bose) arena...

I think having it set up like this would be an effective way of simplifying and streamlining the Bose Portable Sound forums.
I wish there were a better way of adding images in messages that can be uploaded from PC instead of URL. I have some images not from my music website or music storage online that I have wanted to insert and cannot for that reason. Unless I'm really missing some other way of accomplishing this. Anxious to see what happens here...this has always been such a great forum with such helpful people! Keep the music going everyone!

When we make the change, the old form address will automatically redirect to the new forum. Then, it we hope that you will save the new address that you will see in your browser.
Hello Musicianthomas,

Thank your comment.

It will be very easy to add images to your posts in the new forum. Much easier than it is now. You will be able to copy and paste images using familiar keyboard shortcuts.

.
Stay tuned. Very soon now, you will navigate to this site and you will be redirected to the new one.

It would be nice to be able to maybe upload more than 1 image per post. It wouldn't have to be an endless number, but more than 1 at per post could sometimes be helpful,

Thanks

Tony

Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes, you will be able to upload multiple images in a single post.
