Hi guys

I charged my S1 Pro last night and after a couple of hours the blue LED by the toggle switch went off.

Is this normal or does it suggest a fault?

Until last night every time I used my S1 Pro the little blue LED could be seen and I was able to flick it to the battery indicator setting to check the battery level but now when I set the toggle to battery setting the LED fails to light up and without it I have no way of checking the level.

The forum says you can check the battery level by pressing the Bluetooth switch but this doesn't have any effect, it just flashes showing that it is trying to connect to a device.

Does anybody have any advice about this?

Has my S1 Pro developed a fault?

It's only about a month old so I hope not.

Geoff, could you elaborate what the switch position was and whether you were charging at the time you saw the light?

If my memory serves me correctly, when I am charging the S1 with the switch in the full down position (fast charge), when it was fully charged the blue led would go off. 

If you haven’t done so already, and I know it’s a bit of a pain, I’d update the firmware and download the Bose Connect app into a smart device (phone, tablet). The app will tell you what the battery charge % is vs the flashing LED. Not totally necessary, just handier. Also, that app and firmware will let you separate a stereo signal across 2 S1s which is nice.

I've sorted the problem. I took the battery out and did a reset and that sorted it.

Not sure what happened, it just seemed to shut down during the charging period although the unit was coming on.

I kind of like to see the blue LED near the toggle there's some comfort in knowing it's on!

If I'm honest I don't really know what position the toggle should be for charging or whether it is safe to leave it charging overnight.

I do have the app on my iPad and yes it is very handy, I think I was more or less worrying that the unit had developed a fault, that's the last thing I wanted as I have loads of Christmas gigs booked in and the S1 is going to be perfect for them.

Whew glad you were able to have an easy fix. I’ll have to remember that if I come across a similar situation. 

Regarding switch positions, this is what I do. Not mandated by Bose, just my approach.

If I charge overnight, I leave the switch in the middle trickle charge position. If I want to charge quickly, then the fully down switch position. When I store the unit for a time, I always leave the switch in the fully down position to prevent it from being inadvertently bumped and turned on.
