Two passive bass module options (B1 or B2)
Consistent coverage and tonal balance, portability and easy setup.

nice...love Chicago/horn band formats !  we have a tribute act in our area..they do a great job...  hard to keep that many players together and rehearsed  but when you get on stage and make that much music happen..yeah..it's very rewarding.    90% of the L1c usages is standalone  for things like wedding ceremonies (I own a company that does this)...corporate coctail parties etc...and it absolutely nails it.  but we've had some smaller wedding events where the ceremony is pretty much on top of the reception footprint as well...so being able to go into DJ mode is simple by adding our ZXA1 compact sub to the mix.  All my events have a mixer in the signal path..be it analog mackie VLZ pros  or digital gear..so we are able to do more eq and gain structures that give us more from the bose than a straight shot might.  I think I mentioned in an earlier post, that my daughter DJ had injured her foot the day before a DJ obligation for a corporate pool party..her normal outdoor rig is mackie 450 on a stand over 1501 sub (old school, but they still work solid)...too much for her to load in with a cast/boot on...and so I agreed to play roadie for her, but didn't feel like lugging her big mackies into the venue, down stairs to the pool area etc... I grabbed a single L1c in one hand, (radiators in bag over my shoulder, and a single ZXA1 in the other...and walked it right in....nuttin but compliments all day.  anyway..not trying to sell folks on the L1c as a DJ rig..just saying that with a little  help, it can be asked to pull duty...without a doubt...guitar on a stool ...yeah...it doesn't get any better.   good fer you on the chicago setup...I eny you...

Hi All,

We know there a lot of L1 Compact users on the forum and we wanted to get a better understanding of the effects and processing that you use with the system.

For example, Are you using the T1 or just the L1 Compact by itself?

Please reply to this post with a description of your rig. We would love to see pictures and understand the effects and mixing options that are most important to you.

Looking forward to your participation.

Thanks

Not used my two compacts with band yet but used them yesterday at outdoor arena as reinforcement for my 2 EV Elx 15's and they were amazing

I use my L1 Compact with:

a T1, a Sennheiser Mic, DPA condenser mic for my Martin D28 which also has a under the bridge piezo pick up.

Or, a seperate mixer for our band in small spaces.

Or, as a floor monitor.

Or, by itself with the guitar and mic plugged in directly.

Or, as a party machine using my phone.

Blue Tooth would be nice.

We are a vocal trio with one acoustic guitar (piezo) and percussion as needed, playing small venues.  We have two L1 Compacts used as dictated by the set up room allotted.  If a lot of room is available we have one on each side, slightly behind us.  With limited room we sometimes use only one or we will use one in front to address the FOH and one non-extended,  (individually controlled from our mixer on a separate output) that we either set behind us or in front facing us as a monitor.  We are often required to set up in some challenging locations.

We have four inputs to a small analog board, three vocal mics and one channel for the piezo from the guitar.  The outputs of the mixer go to each of the L1Cs' right input, slide switch down.  The XLR inputs are not used.

I did not opt for the Bose mixer for several reasons, first and foremost the relative expense as well as the fact that as a digital mixer, it can be difficult to adjust on the fly given that I play the guitar as well as run the sound.

Greetings Craig,

I am a new owner of the L1 Compact and now also a Bose S1 Pro. I also purchased the Bose Mixer T4S. Have just registered them on the Bose registration page.

I play in a duo and also on my own to suit clients budgets.

I play Classical Guitar, Acoustic and Electric Guitar. I use IK Multimedia Irig Nano amp with Amplitude and Amplitude Acoustic apps. My classical guitar uses the Ikmultimedia Acoustic pickup and I have a Shure PGA81 to mic up the classical. I use a Fender parlour deluxe Acoustic plugged in via the mixer and again the Shure PGA81. My electric Guitar is a Yamaha Revstar 620 Plugged in using Amplitude app and Nano Amp. I Use an AKG mic for Speech and Vocals. I’m just in the process of transferring all my music to an iPad to use with the IK 3 Deluxe IPad holder and the IK iKlip stage app with Bluetooth page turner. I have 3 American DJ lighting items to add atmosphere to my set up.

My S1 Pro was only purchased a week ago and I’ve ordered a Swanflight case for it due for delivery this Monday. Looking forward to including the S1 in my setup and hopefully will add to the sound quality.

I also have just put together an `acoustic fx board with a Volume Pedal, Tuner,Fishman Tonedeq and TC Electronic Looper, yet to use this at a gig.

I Also use Gruvgear V Cart Solo and Stadium Bag to transport equipment to venues from my car.

Kindest Regards

John

I have had a Compact for quite a while. I use it for solo all the way up to our full band, 6 pc., in small settings.

solo: Martin D28 with thin line bridge pickup into a Fishman aura preamp through a tc helicon harmonizer pedal with a Sennheiser 945 mic, both into compact. The pedal gives me reverb too.

I use a T1 tone match with our small combo.

For the big band in a small setting I use a Peavey 10 channel board and it’s effects for:

3 vox, acoustic electric guitar, keyboard, electric drums, mandolin with a pickup.

It would be nice to update the Compact with some effects and add a Bluetooth channel like the S1. The competition is doing it.

Oops!! Sorry my last post re L1 I forgot to state I’m a recent L1 Compact owner and now I’ve purchased an S1 Pro and a T4S Mixer. Looking forward to trying this set up at my next Gig.

im awaiting a Swan Flight Case for my S1 Pro due delivery this Monday. Swan cases also do a Flightcase for the L1 Compact so when I save more money I’ll invest in that too😃

I use an L1 Compact, an S1 Pro with the T4S Bose Mixer.

i play mainly solo work, The music is based around Spanish Guitar pieces and Latin America pieces, This suits Restaurants and Pub Restaurants. , Classical Guitar is my primary use, however a set of Acoustic Guitar and Vocals is also part of my performance, this is mainly covers arranged by myself for Acoustic. I also aim to use my Electric guitar for a variation of sound, again it would be for cover material arranged differently for solo performance. My set lists will constantly evolve and hopefully improve and give a nice changeable content of material and sound. I do play background music when I take breaks and again I try to really vary its content to help with variety and changing genres.

I’m 59, just retired and just completed my Grades up to grade 8 Trinity College Exams, after 4 years of study and playing. I want to keep studying and practicing to keep motivated and really enjoy every second of the journey as an older player.

keep music live as they say

You must be a really hot player, to have that fire extinguisher mounted close at hand! Your description of performance is impressive. I respect your credentials, as I am a fellow performing retiree with truly dubious qualifications! (Using L1 Compact from T1 for trio vocals and S1 as acoustic guitar amp...mainly pop and soft rock)

Using L1 Compact from T1 for trio vocals and occasional ukulele, with an S1 as  my (Rainsong) acoustic guitar amp... With another guitarist playing thru a Fishman and acoustic bass guitar thru a bass amp...mainly pop and soft rock. Compact and S1 visible in photo

I take on board the points about updating the L1 in line with other manufacturers, however the term if it’s not broke don’t fix it might apply hear, plus the L1 compact has been a true leader and still is bearing in mind how long it’s been out there, mess with perfection! Perhaps not.

love your set up with the Martin D28 Wooow! I’ll dream on lol so interesting to hear what everyone has and what they perform with.

cheers

The T4S is the stereo successor to the T1.  You can read a Comparison to T1® ToneMatch audio engine

keep up the great work

Let's see....I purchased my nephew a L1 Compact, a nice Fender acoustic/electric, a SM58, and a Boss VE-8. He gigs in the clubs around his university without any problems. It is great little rig. I have a L1B2/T1 with an auxiliary Soundcraft EPM8 for my two acoustic/electric, bass, percussion group...all of whom sing. It crushes it in every venue up to 500 or so attendee auditoriums. We also have two S1s with a QSC 8 board for small bar gigs. My 8-piece group uses a sound contractor who uses a F-1 system. I guess you could say I am sold on Bose hook, line and sinker. From the S1s to the Compact, the L1B2 and the F-1 system, we all get the sound reinforcement we need that produces a sound the audiences love. Thanks, Bose!
