Hi Benjo, On T4S (5/6) and T8S (9/10) Aux Inputs, we cannot route them to different channels or Aux outputs. You can control Pan and Level sent through to Master. There's no other processing available (e.g. Presets, EQ, Effects). I haven't had a chance to try the lightning out to Apple USB conversion to the T4S, but I expect it to work. ST

Would it work to connect to ipads with a split cable to input 5/6? and can it be routed to a channel? Or can usb input be used for one ipad and be routed to a channel ? Edited title to facilitate searches: Previously "Input 5/6 T4S"

Hi benjo, Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable Community. Great questions! Channel 5/6 is one channel with a dual input to support a stereo input that is added to the stereo master output buss. You can connect a single iPad with a split cable. Channel 5/6 cannot be reassigned to another channel. However, if you just need mono from the iPad, you can set the iPad output to mono and connect to any of the other channels. You can route USB from PC to Aux In or Master. (corrected) Does that...

Then i can’t use the T4s it will be one channel short compare to the T 1 I hope a software update can fix some of this: Usb in signal should be able to route to one of the channels input 5/6 should be able to route to one of the channels And it would be very nice if the 1 to four channels was stereo using a balansed jack. If the T8 s had come whit master digital out i could have go for that mixer Seems im stuck with to T1 for now. best regards Benjo.

T4S & T8S Mixers - 1/4 inch (6mm) Mounting Screw (Mounting Options)

scottcald ·
Glad the mixers have been updated, but a couple of questions on them. Why a camera tripod mount? That seems odd to me. Can the T4S not mount to a mic stand? This also seems like they won't be able to mount on the L1s either. Also, I get that the L1 MII won't output enough power from the stand, but it should be able to connect digitally to them. Again, to me these all seem like odd exclusions/decisions. Hopefully one of the Bose folks will chime in with some answers.

Thank You ST, I had purchased several of those adapters & then I was forced to buy several more from Bose Corp. because the things literally crumbled in one's hands when simply installing them or when removing them to place on a different mike stand, etc.... What a nightmare! This new arrangement, with a quality quick release mounting bracket(..or not), would allow for more versatility & for more creative locations to mount. Bravo!

Hi benjo, T4S channels 1, 2, 3, 4 are mono. Use 1/4 inch (6mm) Tip-Sleeve connection for unbalanced connections. Use 1/4 inch (6mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cables for balanced connections. If you run a stereo signal through a 1/4 inch (6mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable to these channels, you will get not get stereo. The left and right sides will cancel out most of the sound that is panned up the middle. Does that help? ST

I also got a Quiklok MS329 clamp on table. It doesn't let you change the pitch to change the viewing angle of the screen, but the T4S display is easy to read anyway. The clamp on table feels more secure, but it's heavier and bigger pack and carry. ST

Hi Scottcald, For others reading along, we're talking about this. You're right, the screw mount will not mount directly to an L1® Cylindrical Radiator® or L1® Compact extension. There are lots of inexpensive adapters convert the 1/4" (6mm) mounting screw insert to work with a microphone stand. available on Amazon: CAMVATE 1/4"-20 Male to 5/8"-27 Female Microphone Stand Mount for Camera Stud Likely, the most criticized aspect of the T1® was the much-maligned microphone stand adapter. T8S Analog vs Digital Connection to L1 Model 1S and Model II

ST ·
Some people have expressed concern because the T8S ToneMatch mixer does not have ToneMatch (digital) connections to L1 Model 1S and L1 Model II. I've taken the time to test this carefully. To my ears, there is no audible difference between the digital and the analog connections. The background and some notes about how I tested follow below. The best way I know to detect differences in sound is to do an A/B switch back and forth instantly. Even a few seconds between listening events can lead...

Very interested in how this plays out. Don't get me wrong I see where Bose was coming from as they were not gonna be happy with the T8S since the L1 Stand was not capable of supplying enough power for the mixer. I don't think the solution they came up with was the only one they could have but I believe you when you say it still sounds great I'll just want to hear more real world trials from people who know how they should sound already. I need more channels and do this already sub-mixing...

Re: T4S / T8S and USB Audio Questions

Hi Moon Dog, Thanks for the great questions. The answers will apply equally to the T8S too. On the T1® USB from PC is routed directly to the Master output. That's the default, but you can also redirect USB from PC to Channel 4/5 if you want some hands-on control using the Channel 4 Volume Control. If you leave USB from PC routed to the Master Output, it does not take up any resources and all four T1® Channels remain free. On the T4S you can route USB B from PC to Main, AUX, or Channels 3 or...

T4S / T8S and USB Audio Questions

So upon further review lets talk more about the T4S. The USB audio input can be used for songs between sets. On my current T1 I have to use a channel so this is great because it frees up a channel. So the question for ST here is, will the mixer play the songs on the stick automatically one after the other for example during breaks? I read where you can pick the songs you want to play which is great for specific events that want specific music, but for us giggers, I just need music to play...

This is very exciting! I wonder if they’ve introduced Bluetooth to connection for gig break tunes. Also, VERY cool they’ve allowed reverb on the aux out and independent channels. Anyone have a guess on price? If the T1, right now, is $500....this thing could be a QSC price point...what, $1200? Little steep for me.

Price shows as $899 (less than I expected) for the T8S 8 channel and $599 for the smaller T4S. I've been wanting to add my piano and 2nd vocal position to the show...and this T8S Tonematch is going to be my ticket to do it much easier than the extra gig ready setup I had to go through before. My gosh Bose....you gave me a break for a few years..... and now.....beg, borrow, steal, or take out a second mortgage it will be. Anybody want to buy a good T1 Tonematch Engine? LOL!

Hi mbt0071! Thank you for joining the Bose Pro Portable PA Community. Good eye! The ToneMatch T4S has the digital outputs that connect directly to the L1® Model 1S and L1® Model II. The Master Volume controls both left and right outputs. If you need to control them separately, you would do that using the PAN control for each channel. If you are thinking about setting up a separate monitor mix, consider using the Aux output. Does that help? ST

Hi Auron, The anticipated use-case was: the T8S would be used with the F1 or larger FOH systems. The outputs on the T8S are balanced, analog. The T8S ToneMatch port is for the ToneMatch Power Supply . It is not a digital connection. ST

WOOPS! No connection to tablet or phone app to allow Walk Around Mixing :-{ Very cumbersome awkward multi-screen interface anyway - this would have been a chance to address and improve that.. QSC and Behringer interfaces are significantly more modern and easier to use. Without CLIFF, Bose continues to make decisions WITHOUT the on-stage musician user in mind. Too Bad..

Using 1/4 inch to XLR. Sometimes I have a DI-box between them. The Midas habe 32 xlr inputs and 32 xlr outputs. Usually I‘m using 1 or 2 stereo keyboards ( Yamaha Genos and Tyros 5) and some microphones for singing. For big events I will stay on the M32. When I need most of the 32 inouts for example.

I kind of like the T4S, but was hoping for a similar setup on the T8S, so to get more channels. Why are they so different? Isn't that what many Bose users on this forum were also interested in? Hi Stos2, Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I agree it would have been nice to have the same setup with two ToneMatch ports on the ToneMatch T8S (like the T4S) With the ToneMatch T8S (with all those inputs), it was likely the user would be running out to two Bose F1 812 systems, or something similar. So we've got XLR and 1/4 inch balanced outputs instead of two ToneMatch ports like the ToneMatch T4S. We can use the same ToneMatch Power Supply for all the ToneMatch mixers (T1, T4s, T8S)...

What surprises me most in this thread is that no-one seems to be asking a question that has been popping up up for years regarding the T1. Have Bose updated/increased the number of presets available to the user? These have been stagnating now for about 10 years or so and many new devices (even from Tonematch partners) have no dedicated preset. For example all new Taylor guitars have the Expression Sytem ES2 which is piezo based. The Presets available are for Expression Sytem ES1 which is...
