Tonemaster T1 cabling to connect an iphone

Phil ·
just bought L1 1S B2 plus a Tonemaster T1 Question re T1 cabling for connecting an iphone for backing tracks -I am confused, internet search and manual are contradictory. 1.Why can't I simply use the 3.5 mm from the phone and connect to input 1/2 or 3 via a 1/4 stereo jack 2. Do I really have to buy a new cable to connect 3.5mm from phone to 2x 1/4 inch mono jacks into channel 4/5. Also, on this point some of the internet stuff ( Bose sponsored video) shows 3.5mm jack ending in 2 phono...

T1 Reverb

W. P. Anthony ·
I have been using BOSE on stage since 1974 and I'm a firm believer that BOSE has the best sound equipment, even at home or in the car. I've been using the T1 for 3 years now on stage and all's well, except this ****** Reverb. Unless I'm missing something, the longest decay is about 1/2 second. The sound is mediocre and the shaping abilities very limited. I've worked in many recording studios and am very partial to great reverbs. From Lexicon to Eventide and others. I'm using an external...

Re: T1 Reverb

W. P. Anthony ·
I normally always recommend BOSE first, but in this case I had to find something better than the Reverb that comes with the T1. What I'm using is the "Blue Sky" from Strymon - which is actually meant for guitars, but I discovered that it's just as good for vocals . $300, but worth every penny! It's square and small. I also have their "El Capistan" for delays. These two units cover my entire need for great effects.

I use a T1 and T4S and neither is good for reverb. I don’t use much, just now and then particular songs demand more. Just bought a Boss ve-20 vocal producer - superb....

It's a shame that a top notch audio company like BOSE doesn't provide an excellent reverb/delay module. After all, they exist. Example: my Strymon Blue Sky. A prime studio reverb in comparison to the T1 Reverb.

T1 ToneMatch® audio engine Scenes

ST ·
You can save all your T1® settings as a Scene. Think of it as a snapshot. A Scene captures all your settings except input trim and channel and master volume controls. You can have up to ten User Scenes. It's easy to create and recall Scenes so use them to back up your settings so can recall them when you need them. Hi Dave, Thanks for posting the Peter Thorn video. That was really interesting. The ToneMatch® presets are about making a sound source sound as good as possible through the L1® equipment. They are not about making something sound like something else. For more on that, please see ToneMatch® You and I can use impulse responses with our gear (Line 6 Helix and Kemper Profiler). I think that level of processing will likely remain in the realm of content creation, outside of what Bose does in the...

I agree Sparkysings! Just got my S1 Pro today and did a bare bones video review/unboxing. Two X L1, one x T1

Nick from New Zealand ·
Hi team, I have an upcoming event that's just a little big for my usual single L1/B2. If I run the first L1 the usual way with the digital connection out to the L1, can I add the second L1 to the analogue master out from the T1? Once I manually balance/match the volume on the analogue power stand, the T1 master will control both of the L1 systems together right? I'm aware this won't be a stereo output. Not sure I need it. Thanks!

T1 with a digital mixer

Re: T1 with a digital mixer

Hi Rob, Since I don't use a Bose mixer I can't help you with anything related to that but I CAN answer questions 3 & 4. I have been using my L1 MIIs with several digital mixers (Presonus, Behringer, and Midas) and prefer the flexibility that they offer for my particular needs. As far as question 3 goes, what would be the purpose of routing an external mixer through the T1? I have always believed that the less things in the signal chain, the better. Using the other mixer would allow you...

Re: T1 with a digital mixer

3. As Rob has stated above adding another mixer in the chain is not a good idea unless you require more channels than either one provides on it's own in which case it's time to buy a bigger mixer.

Re: T1 with a digital mixer

Hard to predict without knowing what mixer you've got. Try it both ways. Please tell us what you hear. Then try running the balanced analog outputs from your mixer to the two L1 Model II - Analog Inputs. That will give you a shorter signal path and free up on of the inputs on your T1®. ST

Mounting Adapter for T1 Tonematch

I saw in this forum that someone has combined their T1 with a T8S in order to have more inputs. Can you do really do this? Here is the verbiage: "Run the T1 Master out to the T8 Aux in 9/10. I use the T1 for my vocals and acoustic guitar, and the T8 for 4 drum mics, line in from a bass amp, a mic'd pedal steel amp and my i-phone for break music"

Re: PRESETS NOT ON BASE OF MODEL 2?

@Gsharp9 alas yes. However, the plus side is the Model 2 has a much smaller footprint, is more portable since it weighs less and is easier to carry, and the sound dispersion from the speaker array is much improved. Since the Classic or Model 1 had a mixer built into the base, the model 2 will in all likelihood require you to obtain a mixer. The T1 or T4/8S will work great, but so will a myriad of other mixer choices. For example, I use a Yamaha MG series mixer that sounds great through the...

I have a T1 I use for band rehearsals, sometimes gigs. We can put the 2 vocals and 2 guitars through it. Then I use the Aux out to one Compact and the Main out to another Compact. Yesterday, I went to set all of it up and channel 2 didn't work at all. All the other channels worked. I had a mic plugged into it. Hi Scott, I'm sorry for the trouble. You did a good job narrowing down the issue, and so it does sound like a hardware problem. The input meter shows the level directly after the trim knob. So if you're seeing neither the trim LED illuminate nor any input metering at all on that channel, then we'd have to service the T1. Could you give us a call at 877-335-2673 with the serial number? We'll set up service for it.
