Tone Match Effects/Compressor

Hello friends, I ve been searching for a long time where to find answers regarding my problems and/or my doubts about tone match. Is anybody that could help me out how to use the compressor and the effects to make them sound good?Read More...
Hi Dolalla, Thank you for joining the Forum. Please tell us about what you have connected to your T1®. What microphone(s)? - Make and Model please. What other sound sources are connected to the T1®? Please provide details. Are you using the ToneMatch® Preset(s) Which L1® System do you have? (Compact, Model 1S, Model II, Model I, Classic)? Where are you listening to your system? At home? How big is the room? At a show? How would you describe the sound you are getting now? And how would you...Read More...

Tonematch with 2 L1 Classics

I am playing at a venue where there is a bar area along with a restaurant section. I play in the bar area which is separated from the dining room by a short wall that has glass running up to the ceiling. I have an L1 Classic and an L1 Model 1 along with a Tonematch. I would like to use a system in each room so the dining room could hear me. If I wanted to utilize both systems how would I wire them together?Read More...
Hi kraftyron, T1 to Classic On the Classic, you are probably going to be fine with setting the Channel 1 Trim at 4 (same as you did on Channel 3 or 4). On the Model I The setting will be different depending on whether or not you use a pad. If you use a pad, then you may have to set the trim setting higher. Basically - you can set it by ear as long as the Signal/Trim light is not solid red. Red flickers are okay. Does that help?Read More...

Need a T1 Guide for Dummies

I am a novice user of the T1 ToneMatch (and sound equipment generally). I know the T1 is supposed to be easy but it still has a lot of things I do not really understand. The formal User Manual is helpful but still pretty technical (and beyond my novice ability to follow much of it). Is there any resource for "dummies" to help me navigate the features?Read More...

Blues Guitar Sounds

I currently play in a Blues trio using the one PS1. My guitar runs through a line 6 POD 2.0 running into channel 3. My vocals and the bass go into 1 & 2. I have been using the POD for more than 6 years now and always found it to have the best sounds for any guitar style. Wanted to know peoples thoughts on a great tone for blues. I have something but not 100% happy with the tone. Im looking for something between SRV and Gary Moore. a clean sound with a bit of crunch/bassy tone. I know the...Read More...
I carry a pod for backup in case my 50 year old fender amp needs a rest in the repair shop. I found that the pod when set to emulate my BF fender works very well. I run it into the tone engines stereo input and have the air switch set on the pod as well as the jensen speaker emulation. I don't find it perfect at all, but I can use it and not vomit. I love the L1 MII and it's the best guitar friendly PA system on earth. I have been considering running the pod and tube amp together. I run a...Read More...

T1 presets for LR Baggs Anthem

Seagullman
Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here as a registered user, although I've been reading the forum for about 3 years or so. Now to the Question. Have Bose got any plans to do any presets for the LR Baggs Anthem pick-up system. I was under the impression from my first visits to the forum that the preset library would de updated from time to time, and the Anthem has to be one of the most important additions to the pick-up scene for acoustic guitars. I've had my anthem for more than 3 years and my L1...Read More...
Hi ST, No problem. Sorry. And I didn't want to tread on your feet with the appreciation thing. It's just that I may well not have opted for the L1 trial without your presence here. And I'm really glad that I did buy it. Take care, TonyRead More...

Preset for Baden Guitar with the Ellipse Aura system?

Does anyone use Baden guitars and if so I'd like some feedback for use with the Tonematch? ThanksRead More...
A lot will depend on how much of the Aura effect you blend in. Most people seem to prefer keeping it low, say 25-40%. This tends to get rid of a great deal of the piezo quack, but keeps it from sounding too effected (too much of the Aura effect doesn't sound that good). I've got a CA GX with onboard Aura. I don't recall which preset I ended up with on my T1, but I tried lots of different ones. There are some CA specific presets, but I also tried guitar with piezo and many others. So much...Read More...

Hi, daystar (Rob) ... try 'em. Do you have a T1, or are you just talking about the Model 1? With the Model 1, Preset 49 is a good starting point. With the T1, in addition to the default set installed, be sure to try some of the downloadable guitar sets ... you can find them here.Read More...

X3 Live confirmed

daltune
Haven't posted in a while but felt I had to after this. This is, by a large margin, better than any other POD. If you ever used a Vetta, this is it in a floor version. They have removed any of the degects from the xtLive (clips easy, thin sounding with some settings) and packed every Line 6 model in there. Running two amps at once is fantastic (I really missed this from my Vetta). The controls and editing are very easy to use, it is designed very well and the builtin comp/boost feature...Read More...
Hi John. I'm currently thinking about upgrading to the x3. Can you have the patches set so that when you switch to a different patch it also switches a vocal effect on and or off. That is, say you had a good bass patch you liked. Some songs you don't want effects and others you do. You you make a B of this patch and then piggy back a vocal effect. So that with one click your vocal effect went on? And then when you went back to B it was off?Read More...

Audix ToneMatch ToneQuest

colcliff-at-bose
On Monday last week, I visited Audix at their facility just south of Portland OR, first of my stops on a ToneMatch Quest (see Breedlove visit, this section also). I worked for a day with Audix cofounder Cliff Castle and we did presets for a bunch of their popular vocal mics. We also added a few surprises later on. When we first approached Cliff about doing this work, he was sort of puzzled. "The OM5 sounds great-we love what you did. What work?". It turns out they bought one of our systems...Read More...

Gearbox

guitarget
I just moved all my Line 6 software to a new computer. I'd seen the Gearbox software before in the Line 6 Monkey but paid it no mind because I'm already inundated with tone choices with Line 6 Edit and Variax Workbench and all those wonderful bundles and patches available. This time I had Road Runner, so I downloaded Gearbox. I guess it's free with a podXt Live purchase. I haven't messed with the program yet, but it comes with 550 patches, some that need model packs. There were patches for...Read More...

Hi bdotson, That just shows to go ya that there's no one right way to do this stuff. To each, their own, as it should be. I prefer using 2 B1s with my single L1, especially for acoustic guitar and drop-D or drop-C tunings on my electric. I really miss the low end headroom when I use just one, especially at gigs where the volume gets to crankin'... After trying pretty much every modeler out there, including the Pod XT before the PS1 output mode was available, I had all but given up the...Read More...

Experience with PS1, Podxt Live and Variax 700

I've been gigging with a PS1 (w/ one bass unit), Podxt Live and Variax 700 for most of 2005 and wanted to share my experience with others and also hear what others have discovered using them together in a live environment. In my opinion, the PS1 with one subwoofer is versatile enough to meet the needs of the average gigging guitarist weekend warrior. I've been able to use it on all kinds of small stages when my trio had to provide it's own PA and also as my complete backline and vocal...Read More...
I added the podXt model packs recently, along with a bundle from a guy named "syntax sinner" at the Line Six Forum, and so far I've made it to patch 4D (out of 32A-D) because I simply cannot believe the awesome power that now comes out of my system. It may have been there pre-model packs, but I feel my tone pallette has simply exploded in options. I can't wait to start writing my own patches with all these new options, but for now, syntax sinner has done all the work, and I'm having all the...Read More...

Composite Acoustics Guitars

colcliff-at-bose
Tim Dion and Dave Gore of Composite Acoustics (Nashville) came in today for a ToneMatch(TM) work session in our live music theater. We created a bunch of really useful voicings for their amazing non-wood instruments, molded of carbon fiber cloth and epoxy resin. The instruments are beautiful in a space-age way and have the tone of a traditional acoustic guitar. These TM presets, like a bunch of others we are working on, will be widely available by spring. But we'll probably have a set of...Read More...

Tone of D at Breedlove

colcliff-at-bose
Ah, the "D" is "to Die for". I visited Breedlove Guitars in Bend Oregon this past Tuesday (the shuttle driver laughed at my pronunciation when I asked "so, what's the population of Bend Oregon?"). I worked all day with Chris Lindquist in a large room, with the goal of creating ToneMatch(TM) presets for their stunning musical instruments, including guitars, basses and mandolins. Chris is an experienced pro player and is responsible for training, marketing, scheduling production and just about...Read More...
It's the bass output as a solo guitarist. It makes you feel like you've got another musician/instrument (specifically BASS) with you. And the "thump" of a palm on the bridge with the piezo pickups feels like a kick drum. Add a little percussive muted strumming and you feel like a tight little combo in one guitar and 1 killer tone amplifier.Read More...

PodXTLive, Bose output mode and electric bass

andrewdouglas
I recently picked up a PodXTLive to play with, wanting to see if it can replace my BassPODxt when equipped with the Bass Expansion pack. One of the things I was curious about was the availability of the Bose output mode on this device...something that Line6 has not included on its bass products. I wanted to know how it would sound compared to my existing setup. I've played with it for several hours now, and I've concluded that the Bose output mode is not that great for bass...it's...Read More...
