Recording with iRig 2 and T1

Hi I am trying to record from the T1 through an IRig2 to my phone. I can get channels 1-3 individually to record from the preamp out (no effects, eq, etc), but what I want to do is record guitar and vocal, mixed through one of my Scenes. I get no output volume to the phone from either the master or auxiliary outputs. Is there a way to do what I am trying to do? Thanks Edit Subject: Previously "Recording"Read More...
Thanks for your reply. I am using a OnePlus 3 Android smartphone. I'm not understanding how the way you suggested would work for what I'm trying to do. I tried outputting the T1 through a TRS balanced 1/4” cable to the IRig2 input, and the IRig2 to the phone, not the other way around. I want to put guitar and vocal through the T1 with my created Scenes and record on the phone. I connected my headphones to the Irig2 where you noted on the photo to connect to channel 4/5. Running iPad into T8

Hi fellow Bose owners! I don’t mind admitting that I keep looking at upgrading to a T8. I don’t need 8 channels but there are times when I feel a bit limited with the standard 4 that I currently have on my T1 and T4s. My set up is purely vocals with backing and live guitar. With extra channels I could put my mandolin in a separate channel and my ukulele in another and my electric in another and basically have separate EQ for each. My question is could I run my backing tracks through two...Read More...
"Aux in's" - the nightmare of the "non-volume controllable aux in's" goes on - for the T8S as well as the T4S.... very poor decision on the part of BOSE in my opinion. While I am loving the T4S - I am lamenting the loss of user friendlyness the music in volume pot gave as in the T1. Oh well....Read More...

recording live with Boss Micro BR

Thanks for letting me join. I have a Tone Match that I use with live gigs. I want to record the gig using Boss Micro BR. My proficiency is on the low tech end so I am inquiring how to connect these two. I have 2 mics and 1 guitar. Thank you.Read More...
I have a MicroBR. The tricky bit is that there are two inputs: A 1/4" guitar level input and a 1/8" stereo input for microphone or CD player. The guitar input would probably be overwhelmed by a line level input (distort) but you could give it a try with a guitar cord between the Tonematch (aux output turned way down?) and the Boss MicroBR. The 1/8" input will require a special patch cord to convert from XLR or 1/4" balanced output from the Tonematch to a 1/8" stereo plug carrying mono output...Read More...

Monitoring with T8S

How do I connect monitors to the mixer T8S, and how do I adjust the volume for the monitors?Read More...
Hi Willy, Technically, there's no reason not to do this. For best results, use a 1/4" (6.3mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable to maintain a balanced connection from the S1 Pro Line Out to the L1 Model II Analog Input. I find that people tend to run more reverb into small speakers (e.g., S1 Pro) than is necessary with the full sized L1 systems. You may not want the same sound coming from both. But go ahead and check it out. Please let us know what you hear. Thanks, STRead More...

Hi Buck, Thanks for coming back to tell us you got things working. Great! I don't have an RC-20 here, but I used to have an RC-30 and it worked fine when connected to the L1 Model II Power Stand. Phantom power

I have a Neumann kms 105 and my guitarist/backup singer has a Shure Beta 58A. We love your tone matching for the different mics - it’s brilliant! However, for the Neumann, I need phantom power. It looks like, once it’s activated, it’s a global setting? and not just per channel. Can we use the Shure if phantom power is activated? Thanks!Read More...
Hi tmart, The phantom power is only available on the XLR inputs. The phantom power applied to all XLR inputs when you turn it on. Does that create a problem for you? "... phantom power will have no effect on balanced dynamic microphones: no current will flow since there is no voltage difference across the output. In fact, phantom power supplies have current limiting which will prevent damage to a dynamic microphone even if it is shorted or miswired. In general, balanced dynamic microphones...Read More...

Hi Bjoern, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. Do NOT to use a cable like this to 'split' the output of a ToneMatch mixer. When splitting a balanced signal coming out of the T1, the unbalanced signals on the tip-sleeve ends are out of phase. What model of L1® do you have? If you have L1 Model 1S or L1 Model II, you can do this. T1® to Two Model II Power Stands or Two T1®s with Two Model 1S Systems If you have a T4S or T8S, there are two master outputs and no need for using a splitter. STRead More...

T8S mixer - reverb and delay

I have upgraded my mixer to T8s. Have been using T1 ToneMatch for many years. I have been experimenting with t8s but not getting the same sound and warmth that I get with T1. To begin with I have kept all the setting same as T1 on T8s; specifically Delay and Reverb. THat's my starting point and then I started tweaking to get the same sound as T1. My voice sounds very dry and it looses the volume if I a move even little bit away from the microphone which was not the case with T1. Any...Read More...
Hi Shaime, I treat Reverb and Delay as effects. That is, I start with the signal dry and add as little as necessary (if any at all) to get a good sounding result. I find the L1 models can create pleasant side reflections when running at performance volume in a good sized room. There's lots of natural reverb, so I don't usually add more. I place a high priority on clarity and intelligibility. Reverb and Delay diminish both, so I don't use them unless I am trying to recreate a specific sound.Read More...

Firmware T4S

Hi there. I’m getting a weird dialog box when I try to open the L1 updater (I don’t have an L1 btw) and same message when I try to open the t4 update master -v1.1-25adfea.bos. Both of those files generate a dialog box that says ‘there is no application set to open the document’ and no clear path to what application would open it. Channel vs Master Volume settings on T1

Looking for some guidance on where my Channel Volumes should be vs my Master Volume on the T1 should be set i.e. Do I turn the Channel Volume up high over half way and then slowly turn up Master Volume until desired volume level? Or do I turn Master Volume up to half or 3/4 and leave it there while turning up Channel Volumes to desired volume level? This question is stemming from an issue I have been having while using the T1 with my S1 Pro (acoustic guitar and SM 58 plugged in). I am...Read More...
Hi Simon Patrick, First, some background. The signal strength of the output of the T1 is much higher than that of a microphone. This is normal for any mixer. The S1 Pro inputs can accommodate inputs from very low output devices (like microphones or bare piezo pickups found in some guitars) up to line-level devices (like the T1, other ToneMatch mixers, other mixers, and higher output instruments). It is completely normal and expected that you would have the S1 Pro channel volumes set...Read More...

Playback via USB...Route to Aux Outs?

I do gigs where I have to Provide a line to the house speakers (Multi-Level Boat). T8S Reverb doesnt sound as good as on T1 at all

Daniel Blohm
Hi. Since i really love my T1 mixer and I really needed more channels, I "uppgraded" to T8S, and have now tested it booth live and compared it side by side to the T1. Here are my thoughts and questions: The sound without effects is very close, but I do feel that I can hear some small differences in the preamps. Little more defined in the highs and lows compared to the T1. But they do sound very similar. I tried to copy all the settings from my T1 that always sounded great in every...Read More...

T4 headphone out

thinking about upgrading one of the t1's to a t4. Wedding Dj. I like the extra inputs for a back up iPad, 2 tonematch outputs for stereo, and USB plackback. Also interested in the headphone out. Recommended Guitar Settings T4s / L1 Compact - Acoustic Duo

Looking for setting suggestions on the T4s playing through an L1 Compact for an acoustic duo. The overall volume is fine, but I feel the guitars sound is kind of thin. Odd because I play an SJ200, using the preset for it. What do you suggest the guitar volume be set to? I feel I may not have it loud enough at the source. Running DJ Controller for stereo inputs on T4s

I am highly considering upgrading to the T4s to get stereo for my dual L1 setup... Question-- It looks like I need to take up two inputs to do this (1,2) since there is not a stereo input (1-4). It appears, the other way to do this, and correct me if I am wrong, is to use the Aux inputs (5/6). Problem is, I can not gauge levels since there is no led light and I also don't have any control over volume on the fly like 1-4 without digging into the menu.Read More...
Darn, that prevents me from buying it since I will need all 4 inputs +5,6 (two of them just to run stereo) Everything else seemed great! The only other option for me is the T8, which is TOO MANY inputs. Long live the T1.Read More...

T4S stereo connection to Aux Inputs

Hi Rooster, Did you get a T1 or a T4S? (The T1 is discontinued).
