Hi Mahesh, Okay, this sounds good. I was checking to see if there was anything odd in your setup that might cause problems. No cause for concern here. Instead of Tape Delay and reverb, try this for your vocals microphone : Digital Delay Time: 100 ms Mix: 15% - vary up to 30% Fdbk: 0% - vary up to 10% You should have better intelligibility and move the vocals out in front of the backing tracks. Good discussion & many relevent points raised . I`m the owner of a T1 & now T8 which I use in conjunction together .Mainly because the T8 did away with the combo channel of 4/5 which I find extremely useful when playing backing tracks/ having to make quick adjustments. Like it or not its a competitive world , no offence intended for dropping other brand names . My previoius mixer (which I sometimes still use ) is a QSC touchmix 16 a couple of features "sacrificed" when moving to the...Read More...

Can I connect backtrack via a mini cable to two ¼” to two different channels

I know that if i connect an iPad or iPhone to a T1 ToneMatch ® Audio Engine or T4S ToneMatch mixer channels 1, 2, 3 (or T8S ToneMatch mixer channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) using a cable like this i will hear only the LEFT side of the stereo signal. To hear both LEFT and RIGHT sides of the stereo signal, i must change the signal to MONO. My question is: Can I not use a cable like this and connect to let say channel 2 and 3 to hear LEFT and RIGHT?? Thanks, HubRead More...

So, just picked up the T8S.... First thing I notice is that you can't route the USB in to a channel - only Left/Right or the Aux In (channel 9 & 10) unlike in the T1 where I could/ would route my iPad to channel 4 for easy volume control.... So in order to control volume of backing tracks/ music I have to have the Aux 9/10 level screen on... bummer... Not playing back Mp3/aux(background music) properly

Hello there, i just received the bose L1 M2 with B2 bass sub and t4s mixer and i gotta say it sounds great but i've run into an issue. It sounded great when i plugged my acoustic guitar in but when i tried to play spotify from my phone ( 1/8in aux cable to 1/4in adapter into 5/6 aux on t4s) it only plays one of the speakers/pans(right or left) and then when i add a splitter(two 1/4 in to one) and plug that into both 5/6 it does the other speaker in the mix. Hi Nathan, Sounds like you've discovered what happens when connecting a stereo feed into a balanced input. Trouble is, some times it seems like its working, then on the other hand you can get some unexpected results, such as one channel missing, very low volume etc. and yes, you will get different results depending on if the signal source is stereo or a duplicate mono signal on an otherwise stereo feed. The adaptor cable that ST has recommended will put it right as it will convert the...Read More...

Aux Output Level

Is there a way to accurately adjust the AUX OUT level from a T8S to the equivalent of Mic level without using an attenuator? I'd like to simplify my rig by removing mic splitter boxes that run both to the T8S and my harmonizer (Boss VE-500). Ideally I'd run a balanced cable from an AUX OUT to the mic input port on the harmonizer (Boss VE-500). What are the optimum settings for zEQ and Para EQ for Karaoke singing on T1?

Hi - Currently, I have an L1 Model II and T1 Tonematch using pre-built scenario of DJ/Playback in T1 and Shure 58A Beta Microphones on Channels 1-3. I use Channel 4/5 for playing Karaoke Tracks from a laptop. With this scenario I do not get much base and more treble. Hi Shyam, Terrific. You're welcome. zEQ and Delay are artistic settings, and you set them based on what you hear and to your preference. Mod T4S to run off separate power

Can you use an adapter to power the T4S from the power supply unit so you can run the CAT 5 cable longer than the 50-foot limit? like 300 feet? Edit Subject: Previously "Mod TS4 to run off separate power" Changed reference to TS4 to T4S Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...
Hi CalebKent, There's little if any audible difference between the analog and digital connections from the ToneMatch mixer to the L1. It's more convenient to use the ToneMatch port (digital) because you don't have to do any gain-staging. In the situations you described above, I doubt you'd hear a difference between digital and analog connections. Here's what Bose has said. Cable Length Up to 50 feet A 33 or 50 footer will not cause any problems, either with the digital audio (ones and zips)...Read More...

splitting digital outs on T4S to run power separately and longer digital runs

since the power for the T4S is on 2 lines of a CAT cable, can i use a split to power the T4S from a power supply and then run my digital CAT audio over longer runs — longer than 50 feet. like even 300 feet. "I assume you mean taking a parallel connection off the cat5 effectively injecting an additional power supply?" no. i would split the power off from the audio signal so the CAT to the L1 from the TS4 powered side out looked like the one from the unpowered side. so then you just have 1 power signal in the System.Read More...

Digital Noise/Feedback Loud and BAD!!!

Hello Everyone...looking for some help here. I have been trouble shooting this issue since I bought my T8S. I have a pretty complicated setup so I have been hesitant to post the issue but last night I think I finally isolated the issue to the ToneMatch Mixer. I use the TC Helicon Voice Live 3 in my setup. Input to the TC Helicon is my 1/4 inch cable from my Acoustic Guitar and Midi In. Hi Moon Dog, Another thought. When you plug in the additional mic(s) do you then, or soon after, do a particular song or songs. What I am asking is, is that part of your program predictable? Are you using particular presets with the harmonizer? Is it possible to tie the unwanted digital sounds to particular songs, or presets that you only engage when the extra mics are involved? If the sounds are digital and they are not present without the harmonizer, I think you need to look to the...Read More...

T4S/T8S ToneMatch Mixer Carry Case

A few months ago we saw these pictures from NAMM. I got a chance to take some more pictures. From the outside. The Bose logo will be right-side-up while you carry the case. T8S carry case/bag?

I am expecting delivery of the T8S this week. What are you using to protect it during transport? I know it comes with a plastic cover, but so does the T1. But the T1 also has a canvas cover to protect it. It doesn’t look like the T8S has that. Why? What are T8S users using? I’m concerned about banging/scratching it up when traveling to gigs and practice. Is Bose planning to design a cover? I’d appreciate any ideas others have. Thanks, DaveRead More...

T4S ToneMatch Mixer carry case ideas

Hi, How are you carrying your T4S? Do you have an old laptop computer bag? The microphone cases fit in there nicely on either side. Under that flap is a generous pocket for cables and accessories. If necessary, this is big enough for the ToneMatch Power Supply. Here is the view from the top. And there's another generous pocket on the back. You're probably wondering where all the cables are. T4S / T8S and USB Audio Questions

So upon further review lets talk more about the T4S. The USB audio input can be used for songs between sets. On my current T1 I have to use a channel so this is great because it frees up a channel. So the question for ST here is, will the mixer play the songs on the stick automatically one after the other for example during breaks? Hi AU, Thank you for that idea, I hadn't thought of that. 'Yes' I wasn't looking forward to adding 'silence' to the end of all of my existing backing tracks. While your idea does in fact reduce the number of files in a folder, as I suggested before, if I create an alphabetical list of sub-folders, its unlikely that I'll have more than 33 tracks starting with the same first letter in the title. If/when it does exceed that number then maybe I drop the lesser used tracks in another sub-folder.Read More...
