Hi Mahesh, Okay, this sounds good. I was checking to see if there was anything odd in your setup that might cause problems. No cause for concern here. Instead of Tape Delay and reverb, try this for your vocals microphone : Digital Delay Time: 100 ms Mix: 15% - vary up to 30% Fdbk: 0% - vary up to 10% You should have better intelligibility and move the vocals out in front of the backing tracks. Considering T4S/T8S Stereo Options

Hi there ! Not been on the Bose forum for quite some time but I have just noticed there are some new Tonematch mixers. i have a blues acoustic duo, and we bought one Bose L1mkII, two B1 bass modules, and each use a T1 Tonematch mixer, about 8yrs ago - and love using them. In some pub gigs, with a small PA system already set up, and no room to set up the L1 additionally, we have often used just our Tonematch mixers with the in-house PA and still got great results. Our Tonematch mixers are...Read More...
Hi Marker82, Wow, that sounds a complicated set-up “on paper” ! I haven’t been using my Bose gear so much in the last couple of years as most of gigs are festival gigs with in-house big PA systems, sound guys etc, so everything been done for me. So, I’ll try my best to help but bare in mind I may suggest something that might not work, but I’ll try & go from 1st principals. 1. You’ve got 4 outputs - two for the L1’s and two for the F1 812’s. I don’t think it matters which speakers you use...Read More...

T8 noise on outputs

We bought two T8 mixers and we have been using one of them at numerous gigs so far and we like it a lot. Both have the same symptoms I will describe. Did anyone notice that the main outputs either XLR or 1/4 has a lot of white static noise on those lines? Set it up link this: With the T8 master volume all the way down, all channels muted and the output of the T8 plugged into an external amp or powered speaker, no matter what type (tried on th S1, L1, and several others with same results),...Read More...
Hi obsidian, It's a best practice to optimize the signal to noise at each step starting at the source and working toward the loudspeaker. For example: Get the strongest signal possible at the microphone Good microphone technique to ensure the microphone picks up the singer more than background noise Proper polar pattern for the microphone for the application to pick up the singer and avoid unwanted sounds in the background Adjust input trim to get maximum consisted signal without distortion...Read More...

Recording from the T1 via preamp out sockets

Hi, I have had my T1 for several years (not update software) and use it with my compact in A variety of situations. At the moment I am using as PA for three vocals t band practice sessions. I want to do some recording at these and have just bought a Zoom R16 for this. If I want to mix the vocals later I assume it is best to take a able from the preamp out sockets to the R16 (which can record 8 channels simultaneously). What type of cable should I get for these links? TRS or TS? thanks.Read More...

T8S ToneMatch® mixer on a microphone stand

ST
I cobbled together some bits and pieces and came up with this arrangement for the T8S ToneMatch mixer on a microphone stand. I wasn't happy with having the T8S attached to a bar extending out from the microphone stand. All the bars and extensions and tables drooped or sagged. So I put the T8S directly on the stand, and microphone on an extension. I'm thinking out loud as I explore these ideas. I'm not ready to recommend this approach yet. I may end up putting the T8S on small table or...Read More...

T8S - Using S1 Pro as Keys Monitor

Hi there, just got my T8S today and am taking it on a gig this Sunday. I will be using it with my Bose L1 Model II for a vocalist and saxophonist and me on keyboard and would like to connect the Bose S1 Pro as a keyboard monitor for me as well. My question is, do I use TRS cables for both connections? Also, just to check that I should use Aux out from the T8S into my S1Pro channel 1 or 2? Thanks in advance for your help. SandraRead More...
Hi Sandra, That's great customer service from the shop. I get it. I don't play keyboards but I have noticed that lots of keyboard players bring monitors to gigs to hear themselves (only). For me (singer, guitarist) - I'm happy to hear myself through the L1 behind me so I don't use a separate monitor. The L1 serves as both main and monitor loudspeakers. Thinking that through, I run through my L1 (for me) and others go through their whatever system they have available to them. In situations...Read More...

Noise/ echoey sound while playing with macbook

Hello everyone, question from someone who doesn't know much about Bose yet...I play music for my dance sessions, and the studio has a Bose L1 with tonematch mixer. I also use a headset which I connected directly to the mixer. However, the sound was not good at all...echoey, people couldn't understand my words, and all songs with piano had a lot of noise and weird pitch. Even had to stop... T4s Tonematch "bugs" / observations - topic moved

Thought I'd start a thread about issues with the T4s with a view to having them resolved by future firmware updates. (I have already installed latest firmware v1.1.4) See appended text. Quality of T4S Tonematch case

First - I love my BOSE gear and always will, however there is an aspect of the T4S that is letting it - and BOSE down for me... since I’ve owned it, my T4S has been cherished, carried in a soft case, in a pick N pluck space within hard shell case. It is used for gigs 5&6 times a week for 2&3 hour shows. despite this I still have the screen protection sticker and the BOSE logo protection sticker on it. My gripe is that after all the soft handling and love, the black coating is rubbing...Read More...
I expected this sort of reply.... will always get them. i don’t mind if I’ve scratched, dented my own gear - same as you... New T4s owner, a few questions 1. possible to get mic-level output?...

1. Just got the T4s mixer, great little mixer for one man youtubers like me, one thing I would REALLY like to ask Bose for, is the possibility to select the output type going from aux 1/2. Right now it is strictly line level out, but even though I know the T4s is not made for video creators, it would be AWESOME to be able to select mic level out from aux 1/2, and this way feed the audio straight to a DSLR camera, should be easy to add in firmware. 2. The gain knob has 10 stages marked on the...Read More...
Thanks for the fast reply . I have read not only the manual and also the wiki page, to to mention videos and spend time with the mixer now for som days, so am pretty familier with the mixers functions and features. 1. On the latest firmware, first thing I did. 2. I know that it is possible to attenuate the AUX outputs, but nowhere close to mic level out, which is around -30dB lower than consumer line level (give or take a few dB). Like said it would be easy to implement in firmware by adding...Read More...

T1 Preamp Out to a DBX PA2 to QSC PL380's

Hello, I need to run 2 L1 Model 2's as a satellite system this weekend and here is my plan. Connect my master outs (L/R) from my mixer to channels 1 and 2 on the T1. Master and Aux outs to left and right L1 model 2's. Preamp outs of 1 and 2 into my Driverack PA2 to drive a 3 way Danley system using 4 QSC PL 380's. Will this work? Will I have a clean signal for the Driverack? I believe the preamp signal out is only affected by the trim for each channel. I have a power cable coming tomorrow...Read More...

Laptop to T8S by Analog connection

Aloha, I tried hooking up my laptop using a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" stereo cable to all the inputs of the T8S mixer, one by one. The sound was "hollow" and not right. I then tried using a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" left and 1/4" right cable to the Aux in (9&10). Still same "hollow" sound. The only method that worked was my laptop connected by USB B on the T8S, but when I just did a wedding this last weekend, I had some interference coming through the speakers and would prefer to have an analog...Read More...
Bummer. I had thought, and had hoped, that the T8S had a stereo input(s). When you guys clarified to me that it doesn't, then I was hopeful that I could at least direct the analog L and R to one channel for uniformity and easier control with one hand. Most times, I have multiple audio sources that I need to hookup (for backup, 2nd/3rd source, etc.). Laptop by digital USB is one option (although I prefer analog), but from other devices that won't work over USB and only analog, it looks like...Read More...

Setting Trim for Female Vocalist
