System Naming

All, ST had a very good suggestion that I would like us to consider. When referring to the various L1 systems please consider using the following naming conventions below: L1® Compact or the Compact - Classic Model I Model II T1 Why? If we are consistent in the way that we refer to the systems, it will allow new visitors to get up to speed much faster. Thank you NeilRead More...

Community help on Ask Bose for Help Forum

Ken-at-Bose
Hi Folks, As many of you know, we started a new forum here about two months ago called Ask Bose for Help . The new forum was created in response to an ongoing request by some people to get an official Bose reply to a question or concern. (There are also many other times when people explicitly ask for the opposite : in other words, they don't want a Bose response but want to hear from other L1 users.) The new Ask Bose for Help forum has been initially successful. Guests seem to be finding it...Read More...
Hi Oldghm, New in Ask Bose for Help: I've added notices at the top of all posts and just above the Add Reply box. I hope that will make it easy to spot before replying. You can see the change in this post: Tonematch AUX volume boost?! Do you think that will help? STRead More...

Who are the moderators???

Ken-at-Bose
Hello everyone. It may be of some value to know a bit about the people who serve as moderators here. Most of us work for Bose on their products for musicians. Some moderators are longstanding members of this message board community who have shown an exceptional ability to help other musicians trying to understand and/or get the most out of their L1™ systems. We hope you find this useful. Here's my story: Ten years ago, I was manager of Acoustic Research here and started the work along with...Read More...
And another Hi Everybody, I've just noticed that we seem to have another new at-Bose member since Fri June 17 2016. He goes by the name of ChrisJ-at-Bose . A very warm welcome to the Forum from me ChrisJ-at-Bose. We are a pretty inquisitive lot here on the forum. Do you feel like maybe giving us a short Resumé (CV or something like that) to sort of break the ice? I hope that you (if necessary) quickly find your feet here. We're a nice easy going crowd here, even if I've maybe put you on the...Read More...

Giving people control of our most important human sense - hearing

ST
As musicians and performers of all kinds, hearing is at the heart of what we do. Here is an amazing video from Bose Distinguished Engineer Dan Gauger. It's not specifically about Bose Pro Portable PA products, but it will give you tremendous insight into Bose. Having read and listened to many of you here, I know your interests range from the technology behind your Bose products through to the social impacts of using them. Dan covers all of that and more. I don't know what system you use, or if you are having any bass issues, so if the bass sounds good to you everywhere you go, then maybe you don't need a Pad. In my experience with a Model II, after adding the B2 bass module, I had lots of problems, that had went unnoticed when using 2-B1s. The Gramma cured ALL my B2 problems. Later, after I returned to using 2-B1s (due to weight), I found that the Gramma improved those conditions as well. Same thing for the Compact, bass is tighter and I can...Read More...

Hi Oldghm, Good to see you! I had to get the iPad for a project. I haven't gotten around to actively using it for anything music related. I opted to get the iPad Pro 9.7 because it allowed me the option to use the Apple Pencil. I've used Tablet PCs (with pen) and Surface devices for as long as they've been available. I don't reach for the iPad except for the development project. I hope you're doing well. STRead More...

Suggest a Topic name change

Seagullman
@Forum Admin Hi Admin, as part of your job includes "tidying up" for want of a better phrase, you sometimes move things from one thread into a new thread which you create especially for this purpose. This I feel, is a sensible and logical thing to do. You also inform the participants of this "move" via Email so that they know and understand what's happening. So far so good. I would however like to suggest that you rename one newly created thread so that it describes the problem a little...Read More...
Hello Seagullman, No need to use @Forum Admin. I get notifications for all posts. Thanks for acknowledging this. Happy Birthday L1 - October 15th 2003

ST
Happy Birthday to the L1® Live Music Technology Group. I just want to take a moment to remember and thank the L1® team for creating the Personalized Amplification System that completely changed the my life. I will be eternally grateful. I can only echo what ST has written here. With a Compact I could amplify most of the gigs I would do alone with a guitar. I wouldn't gig if I had to carry loads of heavy gear around. And looking at how many companies have "jumped on the bandwagon" with "similar" ideas for "stick PA's", it's amazing how many there are. Copying someone's idea is just about the best compliment you can make. Thanks Bose. This doesn't mean that I'm happy with every aspect of Bose Politics, but I'm grateful for...Read More...

Just good info!

I just wanted to say that the L1 Wiki Is amazing. Hi Andrew, Thank you for joining the Forum. And thank you for writing. It sounds like you have really caught the spirit behind what we're doing with the wiki.
