ST...jeez...I forgot to ask one more thing re. post below...

I really am sorry man, I forgot to ask one more thing re. my recording post and where to plug into the Bose... Looking at the Belkin pix in my post ...if I go with two plugs out from the "monitor out" port with one left and one right... Do I plug one into Channel 1 and one into Channel 2? or should I use to plugs out from the Belkin with one going into the Bose? ( I have a 2-to-1 adaptor) Thanks again as always! HazenRead More...

Summing to mono

HI all, Just wanted to ask what the consensus is regarding summing to mono, in that is it better to go from the L/mono jack on the keyboard, OR to run both channels to the L1 Classic channel 3 and 4 inputs? Thanks, DennisRead More...
Yes Drumr, that was what I was hearing as well from other people. Which is why I wanted to ask the question on the Bose forum. Thanks also BabyBlue Eyes for your response, and I happen to agree, in that I could not really discern any apparent difference whne I A/B'd it. It's just when other users "swear" it is really noticeable it got me to thinking. I guess it still remains true to let your own ears be your guide!! Thanks guys. DennisRead More...

Sound Card devices

I use Emcee Pro on my laptop for sound track accompaniment. I bought an Audio Advantage Amigo USB device to enhance my sound card. What is the best setting on T1 Tone Match, and best EQ setting on the card? Thanks!Read More...
When I don't use a sound module I use the Audio Advantage running Cakewalk. I use the DJ settings. Usally flat but I have used the low and hi volume settings depending on the room. Sometimes I bump up the mids which you can do on the T1 or the internal eq settings on the Audio Advantge software. Also try some of the softwear presets on the Audio Advantage. It's a great piece for the price.Read More...

Combing IPOD with Vocals...could use some help...

Hey gang...haven't posted in a while. L1 owner. I have searched and while there is a good amount on IPODs I did not find what I was looking for...if it has been discussed, please forgive me and kindly point me to the post. As a means of concentrating on my vocals only (for practice reasons)...I wanted to hook up my IPOD (which contains just my acoustic guitar tracks from "gig" song list) and have the guitar track playing while singing through the mic. Is this a pretty easy task? Thanks as...Read More...
Wow...Perfect! and way tool cool ST. Thank you soo much! I will play with it in the coming days. I tell ya...I've been running a pretty popular Triathlon Training website for 10 years with a very popular forum. But I have to say, you guys take customer service to an entirely new level. Its the little things that really make a difference. ST, I really appreciate it. Can you help with my band setup please!

Hiya, here's a sketch of the usual setup: Here is a link to My Stage Layout in The Sketcher Hopefully I will be upgrading soon to 2 L1s but for now have to make do with one. This is the way I usually setup, problem being mainly with mics. I run the mics thru a small mixer to begin with, to add a little ethereal reverb and also to save inputs on the L1. This also allows for connection of the singers in-ear monitor (she's tried getting on without it, but still struggles to hear herself -...Read More...

connect Firepod output to a Bose L1 v2

Hello, I have some problems to connect my Firepod with a Bose L1 system Version II (without T1). I want to connect the output 1 of the Firepod to the Analog Input of the Bose The Bose input is mono, and can accept TS or TRS balanced 1/4 Jack. I used a 1/4 TRS balanced Jack from the Firepod output 1 to the Bose input, but can't get good sound levels. -If i put 0dB for output in my DAW, i must adjust the input trim very low on the Bose (ending with low sound level), or the Firepod unsync (red...Read More...
For the L1 Model II (which you have), the analog input is actually expecting a "line level" input. Your plan sounds good -- let us know what you find out so that some one else might benefit from your 'learning'. Thanks!!Read More...

Update- which one? (L1 Classic)

Hi all, I have an L1 classic which I have updated to version 2. I am using it to play an arranger keyboard, with some MP3 backing tracks, and I was wondering should I go to the upgrade version 3, whihc is for pre-recorded high level music, OR is it not that much different to the existing one in Version 2, Low level recorded music? I am having some issues tryign to get a good sound out of the L1. Vocally it is perfect as the preset for the N/D 767a is sweet!! Thanks, DennisRead More...
Thanks ST..Very illuminating article although one part I didn't quite understand, and Chris didn't elaborate, in particular the second par.... "In any arrangement where the grilles fit completely within a 30 inch (75 cm) diameter sphere, your two B1s will act like a single one, only louder. Note that spacing two B1s on the floor with the L1® Classic or L1® Model I Power Stand between them does not meet this criterion. That arrangement would reduce the mid-bass that radiates to the left and...Read More...

Boss DR-3 Dr. Rhythm and Bose L1 Model II

jasonmatte
Hi everyone. I have been an owner of a Bose L1 Model II with tone match and a B1 for about 6 months. I usually use the system with a live drummer, a guitar, bass and vocals. At home I practice through the unit as I just love the sound. I recently ordered a DR-3 drum machine from ebay and it should be arriving today or Monday. Does anyone have any experience hooking this machine up to the Bose system? It looks to me like it has only L and R channels out on it. I am unsure how to connect this...Read More...

Thanks ST.. Your reply was all the info I needed. I am currently running a Phonic Helix mkII firewire interface, and I was thinking of selling it to help pay for a T1. The T1 I think is a good investment, I have just got to find a way to pay for it LOL!! Cheers DennisRead More...

Fuses & USB Recording

Just took delivery of an L1 system and it is truly wonderful, can't wait for the first gig. Just one thing though. I have read the odd post on this excellent site where people say they 'changed a fuse' in a certain situation. Can I change them on a Model 2? I can't see where it would be located. Secondly, somewhere I read that you can record live through the USB on the Tonematch. Is there a thread you can point me to, I use Logic software All the best PaulRead More...

L1 model 1 with the T1?

Hi everyone - I've been playing guitar and singing for 50 years... and I believe the Bose system is what I've always wanted! My question is: can I use the T1 with the older model 1 system? Seems like a good way to have 2 extra mic inputs, by running the T1 into the line in on input 3 or 4. Will this work? Will it sound as good as into the model II? I really want to buy one of these systems - and I can get a model 1 for less than the model II. Only having 3 inputs on the T1 seems rather...Read More...

You could run Microphone to Correct Correct to Create Create to Model I (or Classic) Power Stand Channels 1 or 2. Voice Live 2

Hi I saw with interest that TC Helicon is adding the Voicelive 2 to its range of products. http://www.tc-helicon.com/pressrelease.asp?ajrDcmntID=10283 I play saxophone through a Bose L1 II with Tonematch and was wondering the best way to connect this to my system - either via the tonematch or via the base of the L1 II? Thanks MarkRead More...
markemark, You could connect through either the Analog Input on a model II or any of the inputs on the T1 (although 4/5 would be the best since it is specifically for line inputs, leaving 1-2-3 open for mics and instruments). If you choose to use a ToneMatch preset with the VL2, then you will need to use the T1 inputs. For many processors, folks have found that they do not need to use a ToneMatch preset, since the processors are voiced fairly neutral and sound good through an L1 already. MikeRead More...

The 4th floor is sucking up bass!!

jayare 2
Hi all..I frequently play solo at a VA hospital. Sometimes they have me in an auditorium..no problem..but occasionally, they will have me on the 4th floor of the bldg,in the activity room. I have noticed a BIG drop-off in bass when I am up there...I can even turn up the low eq on the T1 almost all the way without any noticeable bass increase.Would a pad of some sort ,under the B1 help any??..Just wonderin! thanks JohnRead More...
When treating rooms for recording purposes, dealing with bass frequencies is notoriously challenging. One thing you might notice is "bass traps" placed in 90 degree corners. That is because those corners act as amplifiers for bass frequencies. if you aim the b1 at a corner (like turning it toward the wall), you may get a corresponding bump in bass response, but bear in mind that the increase may not be even across the B1's range.Read More...

I'm currently using an L1, model 2, T1 and double subs. Doing one-man-band and DJ gigs, mostly at weddings. All kinds of rooms (my biggest was 12,000 sq ft so far). I'm wondering how much more beef will I get if I added 2 more subs? Do I have to add the packlite amp?Read More...

best way to record t1 to minidisc?

qbaser
I'm wondering what is the best way to record from T1 direct to my minidisc? I tried using the aux output last night but later realised that the aux output channel levels must be set to the mix I want (but I can't hear the mix that is creating). Basically I just want the mix I am hearing from L1 tower to be the same that goes to my minidisc. So would I instead take the master output to my minidisc? AlRead More...
Hi I record out of tonematch Master out to tascam CD recorde. Recording out of Aux out does not allow any reverb effects to be included in your recording. Master out works fine for me. Hope this helps.Read More...

'Static' noise after 2-3 hours use

Hi guys, I have a jolly decent chap called Dave Speight over here using a classic with a T1. He's had the classic for a good couple of years now with no problems. However, just recently he's had a noise appear, which he describes as a kind of 'static' sound (think detuned radio) after a couple of hours or more use of the L1. The problem does not go away if the unit is switched off and then on fairly quickly, but does go if the unit is turned off and left for a while before switching on...Read More...
Hi guys, Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Positioning ideas for six musicians on a difficult stage?

After a two year hiatus, we are reforming our old band with the same instrumentation, the same vocalists, and the much of the same equipment. You were very helpful with staging ideas in the past. We are back trying to solve some of the same old problems, hopefully with some new ideas. This is an old thread about our instrumentation from the sketcher forum: http://bose.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/301107819/m/9...211031152#3211031152 The first thing we did was to go out and get two used L1s.Read More...
