Volume surge with L2 Model 1S

Was playing a gig the other night and my Bose would suddenly have a volume surge. I would then reduce the main volume and bring it back up and volume would go back to normal and then shortly after it would surge again. This happened multiple times over the course of a few hours. Anyone else experience this? I'm using the ToneMatch with Sure SM58s mics in line 1 and 2 and an acoustic guitar in line 4. When the volume would surge it also had an increase in treble which made it sound not only...Read More...
The same thing used to occur with my band at one of the markets we play that has an L1 1s. The Bose would sound slightly "muddy" for the first 1/2 hour to 3/4 of an hour and then the volume would suddenly increase to full "normal" volume and eq. with accompanying feedback - ACK! Then we'd have to jump onto the master fader and pull it down. It operated normally from then on. Since we had a very long distance and needed 2 long A/C cords to get from the plug to the stage we suspected a voltage...Read More...

acoustic guitar feedback issues

we are using the L1 model 2 for our acoustic duo . We are having some trouble with feedback with the guitar . No other problems at all however we use a guitar with an inbuilt pre amp which we tend to turn the volume down as much as possible to allow the tone match to control this . I have the frequency settings at 115 and the level at 5.4 I have been researching this for sometime and although these settings are ok we still have trouble managing the feedback . We do have a feedback pedal that...Read More...

2 B1's vs 1 B2

Does 2 B1's = 1 B2 as far as the load and low end presence and projection? I have: L1 Model I w/2 B1s L1 Model II w/1 B1 -------- Using the Model I or II for 1 acoustic guitar and vocal (If there is a difference above) Model I or II w/1 B1 (Small acoustic room) Model I or II w/2 B1's (Outdoor patio venue) Model I or II w/1 B2 (Small wedding when also have to DJ) Model II w/1 B2 and Model I w/2 B1's (Large wedding when also have to DJ) Comments on usage? Note: I use a Fishman Loudbox Mini to...Read More...
Hi Jon-Nolan, I'm glad you're enjoying the B1s. Thanks for coming back to tell us how you're making out. Even though the total carry weight for two B1s is a little more than a B2, I find the B1s easier to manage in transit. For vocals with guitar, I find the B1s to be tighter (good) and more responsive than the B2, although the distinction is subtle. I prefer to work with the L1® behind me. It's a nicer experience for monitoring. But I understand, that doesn't work for everyone. You...Read More...

T8S Global EQ

I'm sure this is an easy question but for the life of me I cannot find out how to use, or where the Global EQ is on the T8S. Can someone give me a little help? By global EQ, I'm thinking that there should be a control somewhere that lets me affect low/mid/high for the entire mix and not just on the individual channels but maybe I'm incorrect in that thinking? I don't want to have to tweak every instrument individually for a venue. Your time and help is greatly appreciated, BrianRead More...

L1 classic Vs L1 Model 1

I tried out a friends L1 Classic with two B1's. I was so impressed with the sound I bought what I thought and was led to believe the same system, but what I was sold was an L1 Model 1 with two B1's. I had some problems with the sound fading (limiting) and you can read them here set up for larger venues only on further investigation did I realise that they have two different outputs ie; the classic gives a total of 750 watts where as the Model 1 gives a total of 500 watts. There is supposed...Read More...
A though: The classic has all the elements facing straight forward. And the model II have them angled. Could it be therefore it feels/sounds louder in front? I have owned classic, model I, 1S, and model II. As I recall, I did actually noticed that the classic had more "power". And more straightforward sounding. But the model II have better spread sideways. The foot on the classic was a I pain in the .. to carry, and thats why I sold it.Read More...

Proper DJ Setup with T1 vs T4 or T8

DJ Cory Barron
Greetings all, This is my first post on the forum. I have number of the Bose professional products, but i'm not sure i'm running them correctly. Typically if i'm using the F1 812 set up I will take the controller straight in. If i'm using the L1MIIB2 its through the T1 as described below. As a DJ I run my controller (Pioneer DDJSX2) main XLR L & R outputs to the T1 in Ch. 1 & Ch. 2 One the T1, I run the master Vol. at 50%, Ch. 1 & Ch. 2 Trim at all the way down & Vol. at 50%...Read More...
Hi DJ Cory, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. I'm glad you're here. The connections for the T4S will be the same as you are doing now with the T1® with the added wrinkle - because the T4S is stereo, and you're using a single L1® Model II, you will pan all the channels hard RIGHT. Things with the T8S are be slighly different. In addition to panning everything RIGHT, you will connect the T8S RIGHT output to the L1® Model II Analog input on the Model II Power Stand. T1 Preamp Outputs - what do they send?

What exactly is sent from the individual channel preamp output jacks? Is it a processed signal (T1 presets, compressors, etc.) or completely dry? Is the level predetermined or is it dependent on the trim level, channel volume, and/or master volume? The user manual really isn't very detailed on the subject. Here's why I need to know - and suggestions are welcomed: I love using the T1 compressor on my acoustic guitars. Some moderate-to-heavy compression really makes them sing! However, I use a...Read More...

STOPS MAKING SOUND FOR SECONDS THEN COMES BACK

I have just purchased my second set of L1 MODEL 2 with B2 SUB without T1 to achieve my personal taste of stereo set up (I am not satisfied with source coming just from one speaker system. It lacks the feeling of musical immersion) and to be able to play (One Man Band with dance backing track) in front of 100 to 200 dancing crowd which my first BOSE MODEL 2 system can not handle. But my first test of the new system paired with my old system goes wrong. My new bose L1 will automatically shut...Read More...

L1 Compact and T1 ToneMatch Hum

I had the L1 Compact with the T1 ToneMach and use my computer for the audio using the USB connection when I noticed a hum when the L1 Compact master was at 11 and the T1 was at 12. Could it be caused by the power strip I'm using for the T1 and the computer? The L1 Compact is not connected to the power strip. I also use the TRS audio cable to the L1 Compact. Have a technical question. is there a difference in sound in the EQ settings between the Tone match T1 mixer in stereo setting on a dj controller And also in the T4 s or T8s dj setup. sound system is a bose 812 f1 system Thanks for the replyRead More...
Hi timeless entertainment, Thank you for this interesting question. There is no difference in the EQ settings between the T1®, T4S and T8S for the DJ Presets. The signal output from the T4S and T8S is higher than the T1®. This gives you the potential for higher output from the F1 Model 812 and better signal to noise ratio. Does that help? STRead More...

Hi Dippy27, Thanks for the added information. The L1® Compact might be a great choice for you. I've used in settings outdoors (it carries very well outdoors), and in enclosed spaces with hundreds of people. I've also used it in a venue I know well where they host Ukulele Night every Monday. There are up to 60 people who get together to play their ukuleles and sing along. There's a house system, and the singalong leaders use that. But I've used my L1® Compact in the same club with similar...Read More...

Setup for two Model 1S and mixer

Hi - was wondering if I could get some clarity here before making a decision on purchasing the Model 1S. It would be for a full band (3-4 vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, electric, acoustic drums, and keyboard). My plan would be for all of the vocals/instruments to be sent into an analog mixer (Mackie 1604VLZ) and then sent out using the L outputs to a Model 1S and the R output to another 1S, essentially as a typical PA system would have it. Would the output from mixer actually have to come...Read More...

just an update, I left my B1 into my local bose retailer for repair and they said one of the speakers was blown ? and they said bose don't send out new parts so I rang bose and a very unhelpful lady told me it would be 150 Euro to send it back for repair. USB on T1 for Power?

MColin28
Hi All! I run break music on set breaks at gigs. I have a wireless bluetooth transmitter that streams from my iPad. That goes into a 1/8-->1/4 into Ch4/5. My question is, does the Bose T1 USB port provide a charge to that bluetooth transmitter if needed? Meaning, on my other mixer there is a USB port and sometimes the 4 hour long constant running of the battery of the BT transmitter runs low and the USB will charge it. If I plugged in a USB adaptor to the T1, would it charge? It's a small...Read More...

Hi, i did contact service via phone. The problem I'm having is no sound comes out of the high end speakers. I do have sound coming out of the bass speaker. They suspect the power amp.
