Trying to produce Demo quality Vocals/Guitar to create MP3 files to secure performance gigs.

Hi Everyone...sure could use your help on this problem. Issue: Trying to produce Demo quality Vocals/Guitar to create MP3 files to secure performance gigs. Backstory: Using the L1 Model 11 with T1 Tonematch. 1) have connected a "Countryman" headset mic into the T1 2) Have an AKG high quality mic in front of a Fender Twin Reverb Amp and plugged into input #2 on the T1 Problem: I'm trying to send the "output" ((both voice/guitar) from the Bose into the main input of the RC 300 Looper to...Read More...
Hi George, The T1 Master Output is a clone of what you hear through an L1 connected via the ToneMatch port. The signal should be clear. That sounds like a ground loop problem. Please make sure everything (L1 or T1 and Boss Power Supply) are all connected to the same power source (same power bar). STRead More...

Windows 10 Mono Output

ST
If you are connecting your Windows computer to a ToneMatch mixer and you are running mono, you don't need to use two inputs if your source is mono. In previous versions of Windows, it was not easy to convert the headphone output to mono. Now it's easy. Click Start Settings Ease of Access Audio Turn on mono audio Then use a cable like this to connect the computer headphone output to one of the 1/4" (6.3 mm) inputs on your ToneMatch mixer. Audix OM7 Microphone for Loud Band

Bose Pro Community Admin
Spun off from Loud enough for a Rock Band . The portion in Bold is what spawned this discussion. quote: Originally posted by Scooder: Chuck...My 5 piece band uses 2 L1s for most of our shows, and for most venues, it's plenty loud enough. We play primarily rock/country music at bar/grill establishments with audiences between 100-300 people and the L1s (classics) have no problem putting out sufficient volume. Our guitars & bass go through their own amps, so we use the L1's primarily to...Read More...
Keen OM7 user here for 4 years. Still disappointed that there still no OM7 preset. They have presets for the Audix OM2, OM3, OM5, OM6 & VX10 but not for the mic that best deals with L1 feedback issues the best (OM7)? I currently use the Shure Beta 87A preset & tweak from there.Read More...

The Beta 87 (condenser) seems too sensitive and causes feedback.

I use Shure Beta 58's, Beta 87, Sennheiser 835's and Sennheiser 935 The Beta 87 (condenser) seems too sensitive and causes feedback.Read More...
Hi Mahesh, the Beta 87A is exceptionally bright and I too at first experience feedback, however - having reduced top end by 1db and mid by 2db I can sing at pretty hot levels without getting feedback. It is a good idea to have the mic label facing you when singing - as the polar pattern is concentrating on you best at that angle. It's rejection field is away from the label. Cheers DaveRead More...

Intermittently not powering up on switch-on.

Garry
Good Morning / Afternoon. I have a L1 model 2 with B2 and T1. This problem is not giving me any cause for concern but I am curious if Bose are aware and is there any known cure? Probably 1 in 10 times I switch the power stand on the light lights up and the tone match works but the amp does not fire up. The T1 shows level from inputs but no sound from the speakers. Turning the unit's off, waiting 10 seconds then switching back on, the power stand spring into life after about 5 seconds, then...Read More...
Garry, you are the first to let me know I'm not the only one this happens to on rare occasions...but it does happen. Just a reboot always does the trick. I use other effects, etc, and always wonder if my order of firing them up had anything to do with it. It has never failed to re-power up and be fine...but it's done it for several years now. Rare is the proper word because it happens maybe 1 out of some 10-20 times. If you pursue this with Bose and receive a solution or explanation, I sure...Read More...

Hi Everyone, The real question: Connections How are you connecting your loop station to your L1®? Connections I have a T1® and Model II. So far, I'm connecting my new Boss RC-30 this way. Need to connect pc to L1 compact tonematch VIA yamaha MG10XU

Hi Bose, I need to connect my pc to a yamaha MG10XU mixer with a L1 compact tonematch as output. I have currently connected it with the mixer using an USB-A to USB-B cable. From the mixer to the L1 compact system, I am using a minijack to phono cable from the left monitor out (mixer) to the phono channel on the L1. I fear that this might be terribly wrong even though it seems to work. Lately I have been hearing an intermittent buzz when playing audio on the computer with L1 as the speaker as...Read More...
No worries, Alexander, glad to help. If you're power supply is failing (judging by your order of a new Seasonic), then that could very well be the issue, especially if it's a recent development after no previous issues. Good luck! JeffRead More...

T4S USB Playback Issue

Cammy
Hi folks, I have 2 x L1 Model 2 with 2 x B2's. I use the Tonematch T4S mixer. I use an approved USB (SanDisk Cruzer blade 64gb). I have about 21gb of mp3's on the USB, separated into files I use for our weddings and functions to play music in the breaks / first dance songs etc. The problem is it recognises the folders and plays the songs, but in my largest folder, it only recognises artists/folders up to the letter 'K' .... When I check the USB on my laptop there are folders up to 'Z' ...Read More...
Hi Cammy, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. I'm sorry you're having a problem with the T4S not recognizing all the subfolders. Please try copying everything in the "Everything Else" folder to the root folder of another USB key. Does that work? How many folders are there in total in that folder (A-Z). How many folders are there (A-Katy Perry). What is the name of the folder after Katy Perry? Thanks, STRead More...

T1 Outputs for In-Ear Monitor

Here is my basic problem. In certain rooms (filled with people talking loudly) it can be difficult to hear the L1. In those situations I would like to be able to use my Shure earbuds as monitors. I have the model II and Tonematch. I play in a duo - two vocals and two guitars. I have a headphone amp I can mount to my mic stand to give me individual control over 4 channels.Read More...
This is a concern. I suppose I could use the global output (which does reflect a good mix) and add a bit of the dry signal from the channel I need to hear best. Thanks.Read More...

Mics and other gear I use with the L1 Compact

I have dozens of SM57's and SM58's for those that prefer them. My personal preferences are the Sennheiser E935 and Heil PR35, as they have superior frequency bandwidth, superior gain before feedback and mostly because I despise eating a microphone. My vocals have been described as a cross between Johnny Cash, , Mike Pinera, Tom Jones, Don Ho and Vicente Fernandez and all acoustically non-enhanced. Soft female vocals also work better with the Senneiser E935 and Heil PR35. One's lips can be up...Read More...
Along with being a performing artist, I'm also a live sound engineer, @banjoman . I use microphones requested by the artists. The SM 58's are requested by most. Different voices are brought out by many microphones. Some voices need that mid-range boost. Mine does not. My point is that most artists do not experiment with many other microphones to match/enhance their vocals.Read More...

Let's share some knowledge and help each other out. What are you using when a hard wired connection is not practical between your Bose systems. For example: Connecting an L1 Compact to another L1 Compact in a remote location Connecting an S1 Pro system to another S1 Pro system in a remote location Connecting an L1 Compact to an S1 Pro system in a remote location Connecting the Aux or Main Outputs from a ToneMatch mixer to an L1 Compact or S1 Pro system or L1 in a remote location I've been...Read More...
I use the Shure qlxd bodypack guitar transmitter hooked into the T1. Receiver sits ontop of L1 base. The sound quality is the exact same as wired. I use it to run signal to F1 subs as well. Can get close to 500 feet.Read More...

Tonematch settings

Hi, I'm new here and hoping I can get some help with the T1 settings. I just purchased the Bose L1 compact and the T1 a couple of weeks ago. So far i LOVE it! But i just don't know how to set up the T1 settings to get the best sound possible. I've been playing music for years and have had limited experience with sound. It's always been, turn buttons and see how it sounds. So I don't understand what the numbers mean regarding the highs, lows, mids, etc, and where they should be set. I know...Read More...

Low volume output from Channels 1 and 2 Bose L1 Model 1

I'll try to be clear and concise. I'm part of a two piece group, 4NorthAcoustic. We plugged our instruments into a mixer and had the mixer plugged into Channel3 Line In. We used Channels 1 and 2 for our vocals (xlr). However, I noticed that my vocal output volume from Channel 1 gradually (and now permanently) decreased to the point where I can no longer use Channel 1 for vocals. Since I do most of the lead vocals, I took over my partner's Channel 2 and he put his vocals thru the mixer.Read More...
Hi Kory, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. It sounds like the preamps in channels 1 and 2 are failing - or there's a problem with the R1 Remote. If channel 3 is fine, then the power amps are fine. Unfortunately the L1 Model I can no longer be repaired but if you call Bose Support, they can tell you about other options. L1 Compact - 100% audio loss from removable speaker

I run two Bose L1 Compacts at my acoustic gigs (PA-1 and PA-2, for our purposes). I recently ran into an issue with PA-2. I was at a gig recently and started getting a crackling/frying pan sound in one of my Bose L1 Compacts in the removable speaker. Almost sounded like a blown speaker rattles. I turned off the unit and finished my gig on the other L1 Compact. Then, I went to a gig this weekend and the high-end was completely out in one of my Compacts, no audio whatsoever from PA-2's...Read More...
ST, Thanks for the quick response. I did try with both tower sections and no tower sections and received the same response as above. Sounds like it is definitely the power stand. I will reach out to support, thank you!Read More...

L1 model 1 AND 2 used together w/ External sub, driverack PA, setup?

I'm new to the group but not new to Bose L1. Using L1 Compact with a Yamaha Stagepas 600i

I am looking for the best way to chain together my L1 Compact and Tonematch T1 with a Yamaha Stagepas 600i to augment an outdoor live sound performance. I would love to use the preset vocal effects of the Tonematch. My technical ability is limited so I'm looking for step by step directions and a schematic like you've provided in the past. Thanks so much!Read More...
Feedback is a product of the microphones picking up any speaker sound wave output and recirculating/reamplifying them through the system until it feeds back. If you don't normally have feedback issues with the L1's behind you (which is where the L1's are designed to be), adding the Yamaha speakers up front would only be an issue if they're close enough to the microphones to be picked up.Read More...

T1 Channel 4/5 with two microphones?

DR. Roadkill
Can you run 2 mics using impedance transformers into channel 4/5 at once? Understanding that both mikes will be sharing the same eq and volume settings.Read More...
Hi Danny, I've used a microphone with T1 Channel 4 with an impedance matching transformer . It worked fine. I expect you can run two, with the limitations you mentioned. I have run two microphones into a single channel in other circumstances. The issue has always been - singers sing at different volumes so gain staging (setting the trim setting well) is always a compromise. If you try it, please let us know how it goes.
