How do I set up my microphone with the T1 ToneMatch® audio engine

ST
Here's a quick video to help you to set the input trim for a microphone on the T1®. This is called Gain Staging. The same principles apply for an instrument or line level input. Set the source to the highest level that you will need during the show, and then set the input trim so that you get solid green, occasional yellow flickers, and never see red. ... more T1® Videos ... more information about the T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine STRead More...

Set up the T1 for stereo

Hello everyone, This is a guide on how to set up a T1 feeding two separate sources for left and right, e.g. two model II's or model I's. T1 is designed to be a mono device, so the setup for stereo is a little complicated. But, once set up, you can easily control volume of the stereo feed from your stereo device (keyboard, DJ mixer, iPod, etc.). Please note - you will not be able to use reverb in this configuration. Most keyboards already have stereo reverb built in - you can use that reverb...Read More...

Room Acoustics for Performers: Introduction

Ken-at-Bose
Hi Folks, At the recent L1 conference in Little Switzerland I gave a talk on Room Acoustics for Performers. We videotaped the presentation and we'll make that available as soon as it's been edited. I plan to add to the material in that talk here, and eventually I'm hoping we can move the information to the L1 wiki. I encourage you to ask questions and add your own commentary to these threads. The material gets better and better when you do. My goal is to provide information about room...Read More...
For bass traps you need much denser material (e.g. the densest building insulation sheet), ideally suspended a few inches away from the wall, and preferably positioned in corners.Read More...

Connecting Allen & Heath Zed-10FX to Bose L1 Compact

This post may have been already submitted but I don't see it. Anyway, I'm new to the tech stuff...I'm trying to connect my acoustic guitar through a LR Baggs Venue di to the mixer and run the mixer through the Bose L1 Compact. Not sure exactly what's the best way to set this up? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!Read More...
Use a wire. Balanced cable. From your mixer - use either the XLR or Tip-Ring-Sleeve 1/4" output. Plug the other end (a Tip-Ring-Sleeve 1/4" plug) into Channel 2 of the Compact. I'd make sure the guitar "tonematch" is set OFF. Here's an example of a balanced cable with TRS plugs at each end: https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-HS...struments&sr=1-6Read More...

Any active speaker of any make can accept a signal from this device via Aux out. The MAA2-AW from Appaudio streams audio from line level audio sources to smart phones and tablets over Wi-Fi. Volume cutting out then back to normal after 1/2 second

Garry
Good morning all from a rainy UK morning. Back in Oct 2017 I posted about a problem I had with the volume going to zero then back up to normal after 1/2 second as if some one was turning the volume control up and down. I was given a couple of possible issues to pursue, all of which I looked at. One issue was the possibility of a faulty cable between the power stand and the B2. I purchased a new cable from our local dealer. Well the equipment has not shown this fault again until this week...Read More...
Steve, I know you said you purchased a new B2 cable. I would still check both ends of that cable. Very easy check. My cable looked fine when I unscrewed the cap. But when i touched the wires, one wire came out. That's all it took to shut down my system. I made sure all the wires were all the way in and tightened down. No problems since. That speakon connection is very simple. Hope this helps. DaveRead More...

Perception of bass changes as you raise the volume

Do you have the preset set for "Low Volume Music" - as that increases frequencies at low volumes and flattens out when driven harder. Maybe setting that to flat to start with might help the appearance of bottom end when wound up. Personally, the B1 has never appealed to me with audiences of 200 - 300. I run two L1 M2 with a B2 each and never have to drive the output more than 50% with the B2's normally set in mid position and I'm just a vocalist. I cannot imagine running a disco on a single...Read More...

Hi Pgreen, Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community. I'm sure we can help. We will need some more information. For many applications, you don't need to connect two L1 systems together. L1 Compact - crackling noise

I'm brand new to this so let me start by saying I play about 10 to 15 gigs a month with my L1 compact for the last 8 0r 9 years. I absolutely love this system. Recently though I heard some crackling noise coming out of the unit. I set up for a gig last night and during sound check (the opening song) it sounded like my speaker bass speaker was blown. Oh **** right at the start of the gig and I "forgot" to bring a spare PA system with me. Said a short prayer to Jesus and an idea popped into my...Read More...
. I went to the local hardware store and bought a can of electrical contact cleaner and went to work, cleaning both ends of the suspect extension component. I set up my unit in stages and tried each one for the crackling sound and it never came back. Best price I found for a new set of extensions (no you...Read More...

Bose L1 model II, starts to squeal occationally

Hi, My Bose L1 model II has start to make a squealing sound occasionally. First when I heard it I was performing quite loud in a bad acoustic venue, so I thought it was some kind of feedback issue. A had this problem since then and still thought it was related to high volume. But the gig yesterday the squealing came at very modest volume. So it can't be that. Connecting T1 to Yamaha AW2816 audio workstation

Hi, I've been using The L1 model II system + T1 Tonematch mixer in live situations since 2013, and loving it. L1 Model II as vocal PA for band

Thinking of buying a used system about 5 years old ....no experience with it other than played a few times in a band that had one...if you have 2 full units do they connect together so all vocals come out of both units? We are also a 4-piece rock band and use the same arrangement to that shown in the photo, ie. 2 x L1M2 systems, each with a B2 bass unit in our case. We use a Dynachord power mixer instead of a Bose unit and feed everything into it directly, including guitar and bass amps, electronic drums and mics. Hi I have a gig coming up and I have a question on how I should set up. I use an L1 compact with a T4S and I connect a guitar and a piano. Hi Gertjan, Looking at the Para DI User's Guide (PDF) If you connect the T4S Aux Output or the L1 Compact Line out to the LR Baggs input, the phantom power from the house PA should not be passed back to the Bose gear.
