Bose 1 model 2 Red light

Can anyone help please , Just had to cancel gig , it was a low ceiling so used just lower tower , after 20 mins I heard a crack or maybe a bang , the sound went off and power base light turned red . I switched off and tried again after 30 secs , it went normal (blue light ) for 30 seconds and then stayed red . Had to come home . Thanks Francis .Read More...
Hi Francis, There seems to be some confusion about which model L1 that you have, however, I don't think it matters as far as using it with just the bottom array. When you contact support be sure to have the exact model and serial number available. O..Read More...

Vocals sounding tinny when push at volumes.... help!

Hi There, I manage to get a get vocal sound at home with my vocals but when playing at performance level they sound clinical and a bit toppy! I'm a high baritone and have quite alot of twang- basically a lazy tenor! lol. I'v take some top and mid off the vocal in the Zeq should I add more bass? never done this before with my dynachord mixer... I like my vocal to sound rich and warm hence using beyer mics? can recommandations on vocal mics for mid to high range vocals to the L1. Read...Read More...

OK Model 1S Versus a Model II, both with 1 B2

Bill McGoldrick
What do you folks think, 1S versus Model II? I know it depends on the size of the crowd, I can go from a Coffee House to a Large 200+ person Restaurant and I currently have a Compact with a T1 and it does not cut it for the larger gigs. $1K difference, 12 speakers versus 24. I am thinking if I am making this big step I might as well go all the way to the Model II. What do you folks think?Read More...
I played a L1 1S in a brewery. Huge building, about half of it was tables, bar and patrons. The rest brewery and wide open, only a small office behind me. I told the lady who hired me I will never fill this room with sound. Her reply was acoustics carry great in here for some reason. I said ok. Place was packed ,the people part. This lady came and asked me to turn up atleast 3 X per set. and I did. the 1st 3 X. That L1 1S was blowing the hairs on the back of my neck. She still kept coming...Read More...

Opportunity to Purchase Model II w/ B2 for Solo/Duet Acoustic

Hello all, New to the forums and looking to make my first Bose Portable PA purchase. I am already appreciative of the knowledge contained in these forums. I have the opportunity to purchase a used Bose Model II with a B2 Bass Module for a reasonable price. My primary gigs will be solo acoustic or duo acoustic, possible with a keyboard. Current audience is small, sub-200. I understand that a single B1 module would likely meet my needs very well. This would probably be my preferred setup.Read More...
I'm a bit late to the discussion, but wanted to throw my 2¢ worth onto the table of some already great responses to you. I hope you have pulled the trigger on the system with the B2. I had the very fortunate opportunity to hands on try both the B2 and B1 before my purchase and as said, while it's a matter of personal preference and opinion, the B2 outshines the B1 even in the smaller venue situation. As you already know and shared, the only drawback at all is the weight. And as shared, you...Read More...

Stage lighting

I have spent a lot of time sifting through old (2013-2017) threads on this forum, reading about stage lighting. I am wondering if anyone has any new suggestions on stage lighting for a solo acoustic/occasional duo on a very shallow stage. I was hoping I could put something on the floor few feet in front of me as space in front of me is very limited. I am looking for something that is not overly bright...and I have heard that a red light is a good choice. I am not particular on the dispersion...Read More...

I have been doing the duo thing for the past year and going back out solo. I play DADGAD on the 12 string and lots of finger picking JT type of stuff. Wanted to add some good quality MP3 backing tracks into the mix - appreciate any good websites. I have found a couple ... are there any others people would recommend - thanks! these are the best ones i could fine and you still have to really check the sound quality. http://www.karaoke-version.com http://www.ameritz.co.uk ...Read More...

Some advice on Stage Traxx please....

I have just bought an Ipad to replace my Android tablet because I had trouble getting a music player to do what I needed. Now I've downloaded Stage Traxx to it and it has the facility to have the lyrics scrolling while a track is playing and the area for these lyrics takes up about 2/3 of the screen area and leaves only 5 titles showing at the bottom of the screen to scroll through and select the next track to be played. I find this very difficult to manage as I have nearly 500 tracks in the...Read More...
Regarding the number of songs displayed when using the lyrics scroll, this has never been an issue for me as 11 songs are displayed on my iPad Mini when scrolling lyrics in landscape mode. I have roughly 400 songs in my repertoire and, for the most part, I know all of the lyrics, especially for the 100 or so that I use regularly. As has been mentioned, preparing set lists in Stage Traxx, or any other track program, is imperative in managing your gig. For me the lyrics scroll is not all about...Read More...

Tablets used for lyrics etc

troubador
Greetings! I'm curious - how do folks use tablets to support performances? I'm a solo performer and I use a first gen. iPad (the original one) for my lyrics/chords - one page per song (mostly!). Double columns if required. The process I follow seems complicated, but over time it's become an easy one for me. I have a single document containing my entire repertoire (this is actually a dynamic document as I keep adding new songs). I create separate set lists for gigs. This document is saved as...Read More...

T1® settings for Cole Clark Fat Lady 2 and Sennheiser 815s

Hi there all, I'd really appreciate some help. I have just purchased an L1 model 2 and need some basic advice. I'm a solo performer - pub sing-along-stuff, mixed etc. I play an Australian electro - acoustic guitar called a Cole Clark Fat Lady 2 with a bridge pick-up as well as a 'brace-face' pick-up, a Sennheiser e815s mic, a digitech vocal harmonizer 2. Where would be a good starting point for setting up the Tone-match unit? Thanks ever so much for your time. Aussie Pat. edit title:...Read More...

USB Footswitch question

Troisnoir
I asked this a few years ago with no results, but since technology changes daily... I was wondering if anyone knows of a USB footswitch that I can use to page down (or up I suppose) on my Kindle/laptop/etc. ? I really only need a page down function. It would be nice not to have to put the entire song on one page (especially long songs).Read More...

Anyone Using Pigtronix Infinity Looper? Preset Question

Musicianthomas
Hi Gang, Don't know where else to put this so hope this thread is okay. I use the Pigtronix Infinity Looper and have for some time. Excellent results, especially through the L1 Model II and T1 Engine. I'm seeing in the manual where I can expand to store up to 50 presets. I have only used the nine plus of course the (0) open bank. For the life of me I cannot find how to store beyond the original 9 in only one bank. For anyone who knows how to store more presets I am forever grateful for the...Read More...
James, Although I have since upgraded to the Boss RC-300, I still use my Infinity looper for busking with the S1 Pro...(less real estate). But to see if I can help you, are you able to save presets WITHOUT the Beat Buddy connected? Or you just can't save and replay presets at all? If you can save and replay without the Beat Buddy, then it likely has to do with your Master/Slave selection. Pigtronix just doesn't have the same kind of user forum like we have here, but Beat Buddy does and as I...Read More...

Taxes 1099

Quick question to yall. I have 1 venue that gives me a 1099. Just came from H&R block. Because of the 1099 I have to pay my portion of the tax but then I as the self employer must again match that tax. I am thinking about saying adios to this venue. Whats your take on it. How many venues do 1099's I have only the one. Interested in what yall thinkRead More...
Typically, once you start earning over $600 from a venue, (or even band) they can send you a nice 1099, and the same will be reported to the IRS. It's a business expense for them and earnings to you.Read More...

Bose portable S1 system

Sky
Joined this forum having literally just found about the new Bose S1 and want to get other performers' opinions. I'm a singer who uses backing tracks, and want to replace my heavy portable system. I currently use Behringer EPS500MP3, compakt 8 Channel PA System which I bought 3 years ago. It's OK but have never quite felt 100% happy with it. It's powerful, but it's a bit muddy when you put the vocals in over the backing tracks, which I run from my laptop; it's like the voice and backing are...Read More...
@Sky For portability, the S1 wins hands-down. Same for battery power. I'm a solo singer/guitarist and the S1 has been a real winner for me. I have an L1M2 and a T1 but they have remained in their cases since I got the S1. If you can find a music store with an S1 that you can try out, you should do that before buying. For your backing tracks, as others have suggested, use a mini-stereo cable from your laptop to the S1. Bluetooth will also work just fine (I use an iPad to play music during...Read More...

Long and narrow venue

Does the wide sound dispersion on some of the Bose systems (specifically the L1 units) create challenges in long and narrow venues? Just wondering if sound reflection off the walls can cause a significant problem at higher volumes. I am trying to decide between getting another S1 Pro and using 2 S1 speakers in this 20x60 tavern with low ceilings or looking into purchasing an L1. I may rent an L1 to give it a try but any thoughts on this would be valued. Thanks.Read More...

Software and Backing Tracks for IPad

Good morning all. I am brand new to this world. I'm with two country bands, but am looking to do some solo work and have no tracks and no software to run it on my IPad. Purchasing First Bose system

Settings suggestions for solo acoustic - new to my L1B1 w/Tonematch

Hi! Please excuse me if I ask a lot of questions to your responses, I am trying to learn as much as I can. Line 6 Helix LT

Hi, I have L1 Compact and Tonematch so was wondering if anyone uses the Line 6 Helix and could offer any advice which Tonematch Pre-Set one might use. The Helix can run "Line out" or 'Instrument' (which means to the normal front end of an amp). On first thoughts it seems the 'Line out" would be appropriate and the Bose would effectively become a Cabinet if a Helix 'Amp Sim" is used. Would appreciate anyone's advice and observations on this. Is The B2 Just Too Much?!

Matt Wahl
I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this or if I should have tacked this on to the guitar thread I started but here goes: I'm messing with a new guitar, a Tom Anderson Crowdster. It's a thin-bodied chambered acoustic guitar. No sound hole. I like a lot of things about it but I'm having a really hard time dialing it in through my L1 Model 2 w/B2 and my T1 when set up in our living room. Now I know this room might not be a typical live music venue but I guess I feel like I should be...Read More...
Hi Matt, thanks from me too for keeping us in the picture regarding the different things you've been trying in the Quest to make the Crowdster work for you.
