Channel 1 Amber Led, No Solution Yet

Just got a second S1 Pro, plugged into ac wall outlet to charge for a day. With unit still plugged in, I tested speaker thru the Bluetooth connection. Speaker sounded like my first S1, so I figured I don’t need to check channels 1,2. I switched the power switch to off, unplugged iec side of power cord. Switched back on, ran on battery power just fine while streaming Bluetooth. I plugged iec side back in unit, music streamed without a Hiccup.Read More...

I'm having an issue getting the Connect + App (ver. 8.0) to Connect to S1s

I have my S1s successfully connected to my iPhone 7Plus and an old ipad mini retina. I now want to use my S1s with an iPhone 6 Plus. Both speakers connect to the phone's bluetooth and I can play mono from the phone through both. BUT, when I open Connect (v. 8.0), neither will connect to the app. I tried having the phone forget the devices, then opening connect and then reconnecting the S1s to the bluetooth and connect still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?Read More...

Bose Connect App

Does the Bose connect app include EQ adjustments for the 3rd (bluetooth) channel? If not, are there plans to add this feature?Read More...
Hi Mike, Thanks for asking. The Bose Connect app does not do any signal processing to the Bluetooth stream. Bose has not announced any plans to add signal processing or remote control features. The Bose Connect app allows you to configure Bluetooth streaming for two S1 Pro systems (from the device running the app), control Bluetooth connections to other devices, and monitor the battery status. Anyone else have issues with Behringer B1200D Subwoofer?

My first one arrived with low output and sound like it had a blanket over it. I returned it. I received my replacement and it sounded great for about 10 minutes. I went to get a guitar to plug into it and when I got back to it, there was a smell in the air and the sound went to hell like the first one. No local warranty repair, so it has to go back. Can I possibly be the only one having issues with these things? ThanksRead More...
My first one sounded like that out of the box. The second one, something definitely went on it because the sound before and after was so completely different. And the smell. Now when I move the knob to change the crossover frequency, there's no difference as I move it.Read More...

S1's Save the Day

Mr. Hoon
We had planned to use a QSC mixer into two, pole-mounted S1's for a small engagement party this past weekend. Unbeknownst to the host, the power at the venue is turned off on weekends! So...we - luckily - had a 3rd S1 with us in case we needed a monitor (we had never been to this venue before). Instead, we tilted the three in front of us, plugged in a guitar/vocal to each, had the percussionist listen and adjust each for a sound check, and off we went! The percussion and sax cut through fine...Read More...
Ric, Thanks for the info. Looks like my next purchase! ST & Ric, Thanks for the comments on the picture. It was a weird location, but fun place to play. That's me on the far right.Read More...

anyone tried this? Any wisdom? Products?Read More...
Hi gary10113, I had the same question on another thread (ST listed it above). I just bought the Xvive U3 unit shown below. I will be testing it out in the next few weeks. I did a quick mixer main out to Bose S1 Pro Channel 1 input, I got about 100 feet range (outdoors + line of sight) sound was really great. The set costs $199.00 and comes with a transmitter and receiver shown below, it's supposed to run about 5 hours on a charge. I called the help desk and they did say one transmitter can...Read More...

Battery Life

theonemanband
Hi, I have been using my S1 Pro for a while now, mainly running it on mains when available, but occasionally on battery power for small/outdoor gigs. I am aware of the battery condition warning (3 flashes=75%+.......2 flashes=50%+ etc)., but I was wondering if anyone knows how this eqates to actual playing time. I realise this depends on the power it is drawing; I am using both main chanels (NO Aux) set at 60%+/- (about 1 o’clock) and both set to “Mic” EQ. I am using a Shure SM57A (Beta) and...Read More...
FYI: I make it a point to always fully charge my S1Pros before any gig. I just think it's a good practice to do so. I don't want to show up at a gig with one that's less than fully charged, and I've never had an issue with the unit(s) running out of power.Read More...

Outdoor gig

Yesterday, I played 6 - 9 on the river side deck at a restaurant/bar. The area seats maybe 75. The new owners only book solo acoustic acts and stipulate "Not Loud". I used the S1 Pro on a short speaker stand with my Composite Acoustics Legacy in channel 2 and a Shure SM58 in channel 1 Tonematch set accordingly. The gig went well, the owners liked me, crowd was decent but dropped off after 8. I had the volume at right where the owner wanted it, which IMO was a little too quiet but they write...Read More...
The S1 appears to have been "designed" primarily for one-person performance situations -- one, portable unit with two channels (vocal/instrument) with long battery life and great sound. I've found two of them (with an inexpensive 5 channel mixer) to be an excellent substitute for any other PA that I owned (which I've now sold**). I've added a couple of inexpensive subwoofers and already had a JBL EON ONE and filled a sports bar last night with great sound using just those items (with a QSC...Read More...

Bluetooth transmitter

I have a Beat Buddy drum machine and want to run it through the blue tooth channel. Is there an app for the iphone X to connect through the lightning port via the Beat Buddy 1/4 inch output and use the phone’s bluetooth? Or, is there a dedicated Bluetooth transmitter dongle to hook to the drum machine output? I use the S1’s channel one for vocal mic and channel two for my guitar. I really like the S1 for small gigs. Oh, the sound! Thank you in advance.Read More...

S1 pro bluetooth delay

Hi guys, I'm using an LG oled tv, this model doesn't support bluetooth out audio I've bought an HomeSpot Bluetooth Transmitter Dual Musik Stream Bluetooth Sender mit Auto-Reconnect und aptX für Ton Übertragung von TV Gerät an Bluetooth Lautspr It's awesome, finally I can use my S1 pro system for my TV but there is a 1-1,5 second audio delay. Is there any way to overcome this? With my apple airpods I don't have any delay so it's not the transmitter but the slow bluetooth of the Bose S1 pro.Read More...
so this solution didn't work I think it's because my TV doesn't support aux out, So the one bluetooth homespot is connected with optical out, and then I tried to connect the receiver homespot with the aux out to my bose speaker, but it clearly wasn't workingRead More...

"Will unbalanced work out of the S1?" Maybe. I always default to balanced unless the output signal is too strong for the input to the other device -- for instance, +4dB from a mixer to a microphone level only input. https://www.sweetwater.com/ins...lanced-audio-signal/Read More...

Using the S1 only as a vocal p.a.

I know this isn't exactly what the S1 was designed for, but has anyone tried using it as a vocal- only p.a. in a garage band-type setting. Ie: acoustic drums, 2 electric guitars and a bass? Would it be adequate for this or would an L1 be required?Read More...
I'd like to play with you guys! :-) When I was playing bass in Joe Louis Walker's band, two things really stand out. Right from the beginning he said, "If you can't play soft, you can't play." so our practices and performances were always about the music and dynamics and NOT the sound pressure level. At the end of 2 or 3 hours of practice our ears were NOT ringing! He was also a stickler for dynamics. We had 3 lead instrumentalists: guitar, sax and trumpet. Joe stressed the concept of...Read More...

Vocal blend with various equipment

Recently, I worked for several years with an L1 Model 2 and T1. I was never able to get my voice in the mix regardless of settings, mics, etc.. Many years ago, I used to sing through a Fender Super Reverb guitar amp with electric guitar and electric drum and was able to get a very satisfying blend from that. I find I can now get a similarly satisfying blend with my Shure Beta and Bluetooth music with the S1. Can someone explain this?Read More...

Hi Dance Host, The S1 Pro System channel 3 volume control behaves differently than the volume controls on channels 1 and 2. Slow to Respond If you find the volume control seems slow to respond (especially between 7-11 o'clock) please turn up the volume at the source (Bluetooth or physical connection). For Bluetooth connections, if you set the volume on the source device to maximum, this will give you the greatest usable range on the S1 Pro Aux Channel volume control. Feedback sources help needed

I am Singing with my S1 Pro with music tracks. Using a smart phone and Shure Beta mic and standing 4 feet in front of the S1. My question here is which channel is more likely to cause feedback at optimum levels, channel 1 with the mic or channel 3 with the Bluetooth music?Read More...
Granted, we can hear from the side or behind. What I'm saying is if you get in front of the S1, with its small array, you can really get intimate and totally monitor your vocal output. With this unit, being to the side or being back, doesn't compare with it being behind you.Read More...

S1 issue? Channel 2 substantially quieter than Channel 1

Hi everybody, I´m Bruno from Germany and just recently I bought a S1. I intend to use it as an universal "make-it-loud-unit" for my kemper, for my acoustic and microphone at house concerts and for streaming music via bluetooth and as a bass amp and... and. I have since 2 or 3 weeks and I´m very happy with it. Today I noticed that there is a significant volume difference between channel 1 and 2. If i put my Acoustic from channel 1 to 2 the signal drops quite strong (perhaps 6 to 9 db?).Read More...

Vocal Mix with S1 Pro

The other night, I moved in front of my S1 and got a great vocal blend. I was a bout 4 feet from the S1. I was surprised at the lack of feedback. It seemed the blend was best when the back of my head was directly in line with the slightly raised S1. Granted, that is a fine line. I was using a smart phone via bluetooth for the music on channel 3 and a Shure Beta for the mic on channel 1. All reverb settings were good. Treble was fully on and bass was cranked about 30%. Any comments or tweaks...Read More...
Yes I'm sure that one would get better projection with stand use, it's just that I haven't personally used it where I needed the extra projection. Well, there was one gathering where it was used for announcements and we set it on a shelf to get it up higher. I have plans for it to be used in a similar manner in a couple of months and will hang it from the rafters of a picnic shelter and use a wireless mic so there is nothing to trip, or knock, over.
