Case for two S1's?

I've decided the backpack is overpriced and won't work well for me as I plan on using two S1's. I've purchased two slip covers that cost me about $60 that I think work great but would love a case dedicated to two speakers. Outside of a small suitcase, anyone have ideas or know of a case made for two? Thanks .Read More...
I use the Arriba AC-125. To give added protection, I bought a padded cover on eBay and put my S1 Pros in the AC-125 with the padded cover on. Switch Position

NicksMusic
Hi Everyone, I just purchased two S1 Pro systems and between the video and tech support have figured out just about everything I need to know except this one simple question. When the unit is being stored is the position of the power switch supposed to be on standby? I know this sounds strange but just wanted to know thanks !Read More...
Hi Nick, I’m a recent S1 owner myself and have been quite impressed by the quality of sound. I’ve used a L1 Model 2 for many years, but was looking for a smaller system for those smaller scale events and with battery power. I had been looking at a variety of options, but nothing came close to the quality of Bose system I’m used to until the S1. I’ve also found other uses for it beyond what my original intent was. It’s been just fun to use and have. Enjoy and let us know about how your gig...Read More...

Phantom Power solutions for the S1 Pro

LarryM2
I use my Bose S1 Pro yesterday at a practice/jam session. I am using a Shure KSM8 and it works great, but when I plugged in my Shure 87A it didn't work! It's because the Shure 87A requires phantom power... and it is not available on the Bose S1 Pro. If I'm not mistaken I believe there's an adapter out there somewhere. I just thought I'd mention it here for some discussion. Edit title: Previously "Microphones" — Bose Pro Community AdminRead More...

S1 Pro Review

I have had my S1 Pro now for 3mths and thought I would post my thoughts. Postive points Well Made ( looks expensive) Portable easy to cary and move about Battery life very good Sound very clear and ample volume for small gigs and busking Bose after care very good The updater app is good for keeping the system unto date Negitives Playing backing tracks a lot a bass with no option to reduce this. This channel only as volume. Not sure if the the sound really changes that much on a stand or...Read More...
Back to the pros and cons, I really don't think the S1 was really thought out for singer songwriter venues. I believe the lack of independent eq-ing, lack of main volume control, no mic boost, no independent feedback notching and it is also not as reactive in battery mode ... lends me to believe the S1 was first designed as a floor monitor in mind. Also the auto eq is fairly new so first runs act as experimental feedback for horning the amp and understanding what people really need. Bose...Read More...

S1 battery replacement in 2-3 years?

(Wow, the Bose forum has changed, I think, since I last visited!) Anyway I was strongly looking at getting the S1 Pro but the best info I have says that, regardless of how much I use the unit, its rechargeable LI-Ion battery will have a maximum life of 2-3 years (and I assume that's the same battery that Bose sells for it for $99). Is this correct? It's less of a deal-breaker than I thought, since $99 isn't horrendously expensive, but it's definitely a factor for me.... Comments? Thanks....Read More...
It's so easy to swap out the battery, i think the S1 Pro IS the battery charger.Read More...

These speaker bags are meant to have the grill facing down. On a whim I put the speakers standing up with a piece of foam between them. It actually works better. I tried it facing each other and it's a tight fit at the ends.Read More...

I realize this may not be a directly appropriate topic deating with Bose equipment, but I’ve seen some folks mention in posts the OnSong app being used on a tablet to display music when performing and thought it might be an interesting topic to hear what other folks might be using and what they like/don’t like about it. If I’m stretching the bounds of propriety, please forgive me and just delete the post if necessary. To start things off, I’ve been using Set List Maker app on my 9.7 iPad for...Read More...

Charging the S1 Pro

LarryM2
Just purchased my S1 Pro less than a week ago. Love it so far! I'm running into an issue with the charging. When I plug the power supply cord in, what position does the "on-off" rocker(power) switch need to be in? Should I have it turned on? Or does it still charge in the "Off" position? Up to now I've left it turn on because that's the only position I see any life in it at all.Read More...

S1 Pro system with Guitar Amp Modellers

ST
Hi Everybody, When I heard about the S1 Pro system I was curious to know how it would perform with a guitar amp modeller. You may already know that my favourite rig for small electric guitar gigs is my Kemper Profiling Amp with an L1® Compact. For bigger rooms I use the L1® Model II. Yesterday I spent some quality time with the S1 Pro and these units Boss GT-1 Kemper Profiling Amp The Boss GT-1 is a great little unit I carry it in the car most of the time in case there's a chance to play an...Read More...
ST - just my 2 cents.. I don't use a modeler, but my Fender Super Champ FX serves the same purpose. I have lined it out into a Model 1 or a Compact for many years with perfect results. I recently tried it with the S1 and it sounded great - same sound and tone as the bigger boys, and with plenty of volume. I keep the Fender 10" speaker plugged in and on, but ALL the projection is from the Bose. The S1 is a workhorse! Best to all, MIKE O'Read More...

Two S1 Pros vs. L1 Compact (or other system)

I am a professional magician. I, currently, have a Bose S1 Pro for smaller shows and a Carvin Stagemate (S400) with a matching extension speaker. I use a lot of music in my show and I’m picky about my sound. The S1 Pro does an amazing job for its size and is very convenient. After using the S1 Pro for one week, I did a corporate banquet with my Carvin system last week and decided I was no longer satisfied with the sound. The Carvin was a compromise but I settled on it because it runs on...Read More...

S1 Pro outdoors

troubador
So I had an interesting gig yesterday ... I thought I'd share my experience and post a few questions to see what advice folks would have for me. I was asked to play at an event that was outdoors. The invite said that there would not be any power (it was the parking lot of a mall) but battery powered amps were permitted. Of course, I took my S1. Photo of the stage attached. When I got there, I found that the organizers had set up a small stage - with no canopy under the bright morning sun.Read More...

S1 Pro Backpack - pictures!

ST
Hi Folks, I got my hands on an S1 Pro Backpack and took some pictures for you. Mug shot - The backpack is about 5 inches taller than the S1 Pro. Top down view. It's nice and compact, not much bigger than the S1 Pro. Top section open - inside flap (right side) closed. Top section open - inside flap open. Top open. You can see the cables now. I forgot to pack the T4S power supply. But I checked later, and it does fit. Total in the Back Pack, S1 Pro AC Power Cord T4S ToneMatch power supply...Read More...

S1 Pro App feature request: Turn on/off Auto EQ

Archtop Eddy
While normally I find the S1 Auto EQ feature to be acceptable for my gig situations, there are times I wish I could turn it off and be able to configure my unit at whatever angle I wish without affecting my EQ settings. Is there any chance that Bose could include a means to turn on/off the Auto EQ in the Bose Connect or a separate S1 Pro App? Thanks!Read More...

Choosing a sub for the S1

Thinking of possibly buying a sub for my S1. What are the minimum specs/power on a sub that would be well matched to the S1? Are there any specific subs that would be recommended for the S1? I am not in need of a lot of low end but would like to experiment with a sub to see how it affects my overall sound. Thanks in advance.Read More...
The monitor angle has more to do with throw over the heads of the audience. I own one of the older versions and stack a couple of books under it for the same effect. While it's true high frequency tones are more directional, bass can also be diminished firing directly through a crowd. This is especially true with lower wattage bass amps. An active crossover would also help.Read More...

Ground loop?

I have a Bose S1 Pro and Tonematch T4S. I and powering the S1 Pro off it’s own internal battery and the T4S off a portable AC battery. I have connected the T4S to the S1 Pro via its main out Right port. TS4 channels panned hard right. 1: 5 metre Vandamme / Neutrik TS instrument cable. Hum / buzz on S1 Pro at volumes above 2 indent on channel volume knob. 2: Xvive bluetooth transmitter / receiver. This again is a TS connection. Same as cable but with a slightly louder hum. I note the online...Read More...
Hello David, Thank you for joining the Bose Portable PA Community. It's unlikely you have a ground loop when you are running the S1 Pro system on its internal battery. With an unbalanced connection (Tip-Sleeve cable) between the T4S and the S1 Pro system, you may pick up more noise than you will with a balanced connection (Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable). Congratulations! Is the portable AC battery providing a pure sine-wave output? If not, the power source could be introducing noise in signal chain.Read More...

S1 augmented

theonemanband
Hi, I know S1 fans like to hear of the way other users put this great little speaker to use, so I thought you may be interested in my gig on Saturday last; (after thirty odd years, my aim these days is to carry as little gear as possible)!😀 Small to mid-size bar venue, moderately noisy but I did not feel my one S1 Pro would quite “cut the mustard”. The following was to be very much a learning curve as it was the first time I had tried this................. I simply used my S1 Pro cabled up...Read More...
Thanks. I only use the S1 Pro for a gig like that - vocal and Roland digital accordion. The accordion is plenty loud even at 1/2 volume. The vocal can be low but I use an impedance transformer plug to boost that if needed. the singer is low output volume. Personally i don;t want to carry anything more than my instrument and the S1.Read More...

Buzzing from S1 pro connected with the L / L + R output of my Tyros 5 keyboard.

Channel 1 of my S1 pro is connected with the L / L + R output of my Tyros 5 keyboard. When I turn the keyboard on I have a buzz in the Bose which becomes louder as I turn the volume of the Bose up. So when I stop playing you hear an anoying background buzz from the Bose. Before I used an active subwoofer speaker and two satellites from Yamaha and had no background buzz, but the Bose sound is far better.Read More...

Just wonder if A1 packlite power amp + B1 bass module connected to the S1 Pro would work for that extra bass sound if needed? Would this combination work?
